Carl was very professional and provided with us several options to keep the project in our price range.He also was candid about the timeline which was longer than we wanted, but at least we knew up front. The plants used were smaller than we expected, but seem to be thriving this summer. There was couple samll pieces of the project however that did not get done the first time and we are still waiting for completion. Overall a good experience though.

We were very impressed with the professionalism, detail and quality of the plan they provided for our project. Unfortunately we had a very short timeline and needed the work done very quickly - sooner than Timberland was available, although their schedule was entirely reasonable. If it weren't for our fast timing needs, we would have used this company. We will probably contact them again when future projects arise. Specifically, Carl Gillies was very good to work with and took time to look into the details of the project.

Timberland worked with me to come up with plans for redesigning my landscape. They came out a couple of times to meet and take measurements. They then sent several ideas and revisions. In the end I received a nice color PDF of my final design. I'm very happy with the design.

We both LOVE our TIMBERLAND patio! It really finishes our home. Thank you, Carl, for your patience with all of our questions and changes in selection choices. The Timberland men were disciplined, hard-working, thoughtful, patient, considerate, polite, and all-around great guys! They made sure the patio was completed perfectly. They never cut corners or reduced the quality of the project just to avoid rush-hour traffic, like so many other workers we've had in the past. They gave 100% of their time and effort to complete the patio at such a level that it even exceeded our expectations! If we ever need additional projects completed, we would call Timberland immediately to do the work...as long as our 3 favorite workers are there to do it. Thanks again for a beautiful job well-done! Carl was very nice to work with. He took plenty of time to walk around our property, asked us questions about how we envisioned ourselves using the yard, and drew up a very detailed plan. It included hardscape (retaining walls, patios, etc) and very detailed planting guides (trees, grasses, plants). He knew we were on a budget, and explained how we could put the plan into action in stages. Ultimately, for financial reasons, we decided to postpone the project. But we were able to keep his plan, and will reference it in the future.

This was phase 2 of our upgrade to our backyard landscaping. Carl worked with us over the winter and provided us with several design options. Once the snow melted, he came out and reviewed the plans with us. We agreed on a plan. We were in no hurry so we left the start date open-ended. In early June, Carl contacted us saying they would be starting our project in a week. The crew arrived on time and tore up the old patio. The guys were very careful to keep to the path that my husband suggested as to avoid the sprinkler heads as they were moving material from the back yard to the front yard. Then the rains came and our project was put on hold for a week. Eventually the ground dried out enough so they could come back. They were at our house around 9 each morning and finished up around 4. They were careful about shutting all of the gates and putting away their tools when they left so the dogs would be safe. All of the crew members were very courteous and Ben, the supervisor, would consult with us when issues came up (they uncovered some old cement poles in the ground). On the last day, Ben worked with us to tweak the new garden bed design and the extra stepping stones that we wanted. The patio install took 4 days and when they left, they even swept up the street.

Provided guidance and expertise on removing and replacing landscaping timber. Even provided recommendations on where to buy. Didn't end up providing quote as the project was too small. Very honest and courteous. Would use again if I need a quote for larger project.

They were punctual, on time, and professional. They were great!

I would not hire them again. Very poor on returning phone calls and they seemed to only want to do larger landscape jobs.

ulch were installedIn Sept, 2013, Carl, with several rounds of our input, put together a landscape design that was implemented in May 2014. This required 9 days of 4-6 person crews to clear the old and put in the new. Extensive clearing of buckthorn, day lillies, sumac, old rock, old edging, and a mish-mash of old plantings. Then the new brick edging, plants, fabric, rocks, sod and mulch were installed

They came up with not one, but three designs. Plus, I had some changes and they are going to get back with me this week. They've been very responsive. Also the designs have been very detailed with the options that are available.

We were very pleased with our proposal. Carl spent a lot of time with us and gave us many choices. He's trustworthy and knowledgeable. We look forward to working with him.

I was contacted quickly by Carl at Timberland Outdoor Services. We scheduled a time for him to come look at the project I had in mind. After we met he emailed three options, unfortunately they were all way outside my price range. We tried a different project but I didn't like the idea although it would have been for the right amount.

Carl put together several garden designs that incorporated the flowers, plants, shrubs and trees we had talked about on the first night. If I remember correctly, he had had a book of all of these in all their colors when he visited that first night. The designs he had drawn all arrived by email and we had a few phone calls and emails back and forth. Everything went exceptionally well in deciding what we were going to do with regard to timing, purchase and delivery of nursery items from Gerten's and logistics for the proper location of everything. This was because Carl is an excellent listener and he returns calls promptly. Our decision to use Timberland Outdoor Services for more than just the coupon was sealed after first meeting Carl. We have had a landscape company we have been loyal to because of our friendship for several years. After meeting Carl, we felt as if we had made a new friend. Based upon his business ethics and responsibilities we would give Carl the highest rating possible. On the first day of the actual project, Timberland arrived promptly as scheduled. Trucks and a Bobcat were needed initially to deliver the black dirt and mulch. There seemed to be about six guys, but they were all moving around. There was no time wasted. The foreman for the project came to the door of the house and introduced himself. He presented a brief synopsis of what he believed they were going to be doing just to make sure we where on the same page. Carl arrived shortly after and checked in to make sure that the foreman had everything he needed and to see that we were happy to see things were underway. As it turned out, our crew was the foreman and two workmen, but all three were craftsman and hard workers. Mother Nature hit with a torrential downpour at midday, so only a half days work could be accomplished. The foreman apologized for not being able to continue and I later receive an apology from Carl that things weren't going as planned. On the second day, everything was completed and it all looked beautiful. I never saw the workmen stop with the exception of lunch. They were phenomenal to watch. And as I said before, they quality of their work rates them as being called craftsmen. The workmen had put down grass seed around the stepping stones and other areas where the sod had been scuffed. (And it has come in beautifully.) And, we have never seen a work crew clean up so thoroughly. They raked the lawn to remove any mulch or dirt chunks, but it looked so good it was as if they had tried to make all the blades of grass go the same direction. Synopsis: 1. We bought the Angie's coupon for 2 days of Timberland Landscape work for $599 2. We talked with Carl Gillies of Timberland within 2 days. 3. We met with Carl at our home within a week. 4. We reviewed final drawings for our project within 10 days. 5. We have contract for our project signed within 2 weeks. 6. Our projected is completed to our satisfaction in less than 40 days.. We will recommend Timberland Outdoor Services to everyone and they will be the first ones we call in the future.

I arrived home from a trip to find three efficient, professional and polite men neatly installing the landscape timbers. I was thrilled with the attention to detail and work ethic of and quot;doing it right.and quot; I will use this company again. I am not often this pleased.

It went great. We did not end up using them for the install as the price was a lot higher but the drawing was very good.

I purchased the big deal of $599 for 16 hours of labor (included in the price listed above). Carl came out and gave me ideas how to upgrade my current landscaping where I wanted to take out some dead junipers and make it look fresh. I also wanted to install a path of stepping stones surrounded by rock along the side of my house. It took approximately one week to receive the drawing and contract via email. I had second thoughts regarding the bushes I had selected to be in front and how things were laid out so I asked Carl to come back out to re-evaluate the bush selection and placement. Carl is extremely knowledgeable and listened to what I wanted. We selected some miniature hydrangeas for the front area and repositioned some of the existing day lilies and coral bells. Again it took about a week to get the redesigned layout. I was happy with it so sent the signed agreement back to him via email. I didn't receive any confirmation that my agreement was received so I emailed Carl to confirm he received it. He did respond and let me know it was received and the supplies were purchased. He also said they planned on installation would be in approximately two weeks. I would have been nice to know exactly when the installation was going to happen rather than hearing noises outside and seeing the workers were there. The end result wasn't as indicated on the drawing but it looks better this way. My front landscaping looks fresh and contemporary and I love the path along the side of the house. Everything was cleaned up at the conclusion of the job. I am happy with the result and would use this company again.

We met with Carl at our home to give him a walk through of the property and to talk about what we were thinking when it came to our landscaping needs. They drew up several plans with different options and we were able to choose from those options what we wanted to have put in at our house. We have not yet had the work done but we finalized the work today and hope to have something in place mid-month. I will update this review later on after the work is done.
