Everything went very well. I could tell he put alot of time into the design and delivered it to us in a reasonable amount of time.

We contacted three landscaping companies for design ideas and bids. All three responded but one didn't show up. Carl Gillies is the project manager and landscape designer for Timberland Outdoor Services. We liked his plant and design ideas best and he offered a fair, competitive bid within our budget range. His crew of three arrived to start the work on August 29th. We had badly shaped rocked areas edged with broken-down plastic edging around the perimeter of our house that had filled in with grass and weeds over the years mixed in with overgrown juniper bushes. They tore out the juniper per our request, cleaned out the weeds and grass, Installed two evergreen trees on either side of our front entrance, installed three shrubs and three hydrangeas and some decorative grasses in the area where the juniper had been, reinstalled a hydrangea I currently had, then laid down some heavy-grade weed barrier, replaced the river rock and edged it all with brick bullets per my husband's request to make it easier for him to mow in those areas. They did the same on the east side of the house where we had previously had some bushes that had died and been removed. Carl chose three viburnum to replace those tress which the crew installed They also cleaned out a weeded area around a tree in the back yard and created a ring of mulch around the tree and edged it with brick bullets. They cleared out river rock in two other areas, filled in and regraded and laid sod per our specifications. They trimmed three shrubs along the front of the house and dug out a fourth one that had sprouted up where I didn't want it. They also dug out grass and regraded the area at the foot of the steps off our deck in the back of the house and installed three large paver stones and some sod to complete the transition from deck to yard. Carl designed two beautiful flower beds for our back yard and front yard in the areas we wanted them. He went with some flowers that I had asked for as well as coming up with some other excellent plantings that are drought and weather hardy. The crew dug out grass, regraded both flower beds, installed the plantings, laid heavy grade weed barrier, covered with mulch and edged both beds with brick bullets. This was hard work during some very hot days. The work took a little longer due to a couple of rainy days in between but overall the job was completed in a timely manner. Carl had some great ideas, was a pleasure to work with, took all of my calls and answered my many questions. The entire crew was polite, professional and did an excellent job. At the end of the project, the project manager walked me through everything to make sure it was done as we had wanted it. My husband and I are very pleased with the work and we won't hesitate to use Timberland for future projects or to recommend them to others.

I was very happy with the way everything turned with this company. Timberland Outdoor was very polite and professional in working with me. The crew arrived on time to the job and was very efficient about there work. I would recommend this company to anyone. My trees look beautiful!

Carl provided the most professional quote of all the firms that I spoke with. His quote clearly stated everything to be done in detail so I felt confident that there would be no misunderstanding or cost over runs. Many neighbors have commented on how wonderful it looks. We will be calling Timberland for our future landscaping needs.

Shasta, Ben and the entire crew were the most amazing people I have ever worked with. Shasta came out to my house numerous times to plan the work, answer my questions, and make sure that the work was going well. He listened to every idea I had and offered many, many ideas of his own. He accommodated my concerns about cost by setting out a 4 or 5 stage plan, which we could (and did) implement one stage at a time. He even tolerated me changing my mind about our plan several times. The crew were friendly, meticulous, and such hard workers. They went above and beyond to make everything look wonderful and to clean up after themselves. The retaining wall is beautiful as are the stones out front. It was great to see all my new plantings blooming this spring. While I still have work to do, I am so, so happy with my yard. I will certainly hire Shasta and Timerland to do work in the future.

Overall experience was great. We had used Timberland the previous year for our back patio/landscaping and knew we would be happy. The job took less than a day and they left the site looking spotless after they were done. Including filling in the hole and seeding where they removed a lamp post. Each interaction was professional and response time to my emails or calls was very prompt. We are now potentially using them to remove a lot of brush from our side yard this year (if we get around to it this summer!).

They did an excellent job, starting on June 30 and finishing on July 1, on day ahead of schedule. They were unable to install steps because they discovered carpenter ants had damaged the joist where they were going to attach it so the cost of that item was removed from the bill. They also recommended a contractor to repair the joist and we removed the ants. The work crew was very courteous and took care to minimize the damage to our lawn. The sprinkler subcontractor did an excellent job of repairing a leaking sprinkler system pipe and relocating a built in fertilizer delivery system that was in the way of the patio. It was very convenient to only have to go through one contractor to get that work done.

They were professional and came out when they said they would. Everything worked out fine and they cleaned up after themselves. We would use them again.

Shasta arranged for the work and Ben showed up with a crew who did a fantastic job rebuilding this huge retaining wall that had mostly collapsed over the last 10 years. They removed the existing stone, used a Bobcat to rebuild the dirt wall, added drainage to the bottom of where the new wall would stand restacked the rock and backfilled behind the rock with new dirt. When done they re-graded the yard and seeded. As one of the neighbors put it, they re doing it right and it looks fantastic. This was extremely hard work in 90+ degrees and their crew did a wonderful job. They were rained out half-way through the first day by a torrential downpour, but showed up the following day determined to finish the job and they did. Besides cleaning up their work they took away a few small trees that had been uprooted, and also took away some other trees we had laying to the side of the yard which ended up saving us hours of work cutting and wrapping the additional debris. Shasta also donated $100 to the Red Cross in my father s name which was very much appreciated.

My husband and I have wanted a patio in our backyard since we moved in two years ago. We had received a couple of bids the previous year and decided to "sleep on it" until this spring. We found Timberland while searching online and asked them to come out for an estimate. We met Shasta, the President, the following evening which was a Thursday. He stayed with us and answered all of our questions and took as much time as we needed from him. Within an hour of him leaving, we received a quote and a picture of what our potential patio and landscaping would look like through email. We were impressed so far, so we took the evening to decide and then pulled the trigger and told him it was a go the next day. A big part of our request was that we wanted it done in time for a family gathering that was happening 2.5 weeks later. He couldn't make any promises (because it was their busiest time of year and you can never predict the weather), but 4 days later (Monday) we received a call that his crew would be able to start the job on Wednesday. Fast forward to Friday (one week and a day after we first met with Shasta) and we had a spectacular patio and beautiful landscaping. I also want to mention that we originally were only going to landscape one side of the patio, but decided to add more during the project. On day 2, my husband spoke to Shasta and they were talking about taking the landscaping to the side of the patio as well. It would be a little extra money, but we thought it would definitely be worth it. In fact, we felt that Shasta didn't think his job would be done if they didn't. You can tell he takes great pride in the work they do! When it was all said and done, they had gone above and beyond what we thought would be added, but of course charged us the same extra amount that we had discussed the day before. Plus they still finished mid-day on day 3. Words cannot express how pleased we were with Timberland from start to finish. They are 100% about customer service. We even received a follow up call over a week after the project was complete to see how the plants were doing. They cleaned extremely well after they were done too so that you would've never guessed there were multiple trucks on our street and machines in our yard for 3 days. We never would've thought we would use professional landscapers for our other parts of the yard, but after seeing their work and being so impressed with their service, we may end up doing a big project every summer with them!

Shasta came to the house and gave us an estimate. We arranged for a time and they showed up promptly. They worked long hours to finish the work quickly. They worked carefully and cleaned up before leaving. All the plants and shrubs were outstanding quality. The cost was less than the estimate. I was impressed with the professional skill of all aspects of this company.

Work was done in timely fashion, except for rain delays, and with beautiful results! I participated in design and plant selection and Shasta was so easy to work with. His crew was well supervised and fast. My gardens are thriving and no longer an eyesore.
