I purchased The Big Deal Excel Window cleaning. I selected 3 days and messaged them. No response, i called their number but got answering service; cannot contact them by phone. They messaged back with a day that did not work. I offered alternatives again they offered a completely different day followed by another message for another day. I indicated that one would work but the other would not. Did not hear back. A review online indicated a no-show on 10/14. So I requested a refund.

The job took almost two hours for 2 men to clean my windows inside and out, remove and clean the screens, and clean my sliding glass doors. I can't believe what a difference it makes. Dave was very professional and thorough in his work - even making sure the window sills were clean. At first I wasn't going to expand the scope of work beyond the Angie's List 40 Window "Deal" but I'm glad I had them do everything. They emailed to set up the appointment and emailed again when they couldn't find my address in their GPS. Communication was very good. Would I use them again? Definitely.

The company never contacted us to schedule the work.

The company scheduled our work for a Friday. They called in the morning to say their crew would be out between 2 and 4pm. By 4:30pm when nobody showed and nobody called us, we called them to cancel their services. If a company can't keep their customers informed, especially when we purposely stayed home to meet with them during their 'scheduled time', that company doesn't deserve our hard earned money, or time. I also believe that poor customer service reflects a poor business practice and performance.

Each window counts as 4 top bottom on the outside and you pay separate for the inside. It was a bit of scam.

Dave and Ralph cleaned combinations and storms on our two story house. Half of our windows are french pane so it is a long tedious job to clean our windows. Dave noticed when writing up the estimate that 5 storm windows were in backwards (upper should have been on the bottom, bottom should've been on top). We had a painter last fall that painted our windows and inside sills and the 5 were not put back correctly. Dave and Ralph returned the windows to the correct position. They worked steady and took pride in doing a good job.

I purchased a living social deal for hot water pressure cleaning. I contacted Dave @ Excel Window Cleaning within a few days to schedule the power washing - I left him a voice mail letting him know I had the living social deal (ls) and was also looking for exterior window cleaning. Since I did not hear back from him I called him again and left another message. He called me back and explained that he had planned on calling me but it got to be after 9pm and he does not like to call people that late in the evening. I totally appreciated that. I told him again that I had the ls voucher for the power wash and was also looking at having the external windows cleaned. I told him I have a very flexible schedule and that we could arrange an appointment for when he was in the Maplewood area. We scheduled for April 16th between 8-10am. Dave & Alex arrived prior to 8am but waited until 8 to come to the front door. I told them that since the voucher was only good for 1 hr of pressure washing they did not need to do the front of the house which is James Hardie board as we were having the front of the house painted and in preparation for that the painters would be taking care of it. I asked them if they could check the back of the garage as that area is known to get mildew and I was wondering if they would be able to get the house done with the 1hr allowed per the voucher. They said they would take a look at it and let me know but it might be cutting it close. They set everything up and then told me they were going to run to the gas station - they just didn't want to leave and have me wondering. By the time they got back it had started to snow and the temperature had dropped. Due to the cold temperatures it wasn't advisable to have the house sprayed and I didn't want them to have to stand out in the cold. After they packed up their equipment they came back in the house so we could reschedule. I had talked to them about the living social deal and how I had tried to also buy the option for the window cleaning but the system would not let me buy the additional service; if they could give me a quote on what the windows would cost to have done. They said they would honor the living social deal as I should have been able to purchase that option as well;$59 for 25 windows. Since nothing was on the ls website about the cost for additional panes I asked them if they could do a quote before they did the windows. They said they would and they also let me know their company also does internal windows. We rescheduled the work to be done on the following day. It continued to snow pretty heavily that day and evening that at 9am the following morning Alex called to say they needed to reschedule which we did for the following week - Thursday April 24th. On Saturday morning, April 19th, I had left the house at 7:45 for an appointment and my husband was already out running errands. My husband returned home to find Excel Window Cleaning at our house ready to work, no phone call to us prior to their arrival. My husabnd had no idea what conversation I had with Dave and Alex regarding what work was to be done. They did the power washing and exterior windows and then charged my husband $201.00 plus 20.39 tax which he paid. No estimate was given to him for the windows and he did not authorize the work - they just did it. I got home by 9:30am and they were already done, packed up and gone. I couldn't tell if they did the power spray as the siding was already dry. Calculating out their bill of $201 I was charged $4.56 per window (44 windows). I noticed that 5 panes on the east side of the house were not cleaned (I included these in my count of 44 windows - otherwise I paid $5.15 per pane). I sent Dave an email on April 24th inquiring about the cost of the windows, the ls deal and that 5 windows were missed; could they stop by next time they were in the area. I have not heard back from Dave. I have since found another window facing the west that was not cleaned. I called another window company in the meantime wondering what the cost would be for external window cleaning. I was told $3 for panes at ground level and $4 for the panes that needed to be reached by ladder. So appears I over paid at the 201.00 and absolutely no living social discount was given. I feel they took advantage of the fact that I was not home and they were dealing with my husband. 5.20.14 i just went into the backyard and viewed the back of the house - yes, you guessed it areas that were never cleaned!!! I have yet to receive a response from my email I sent them in April and the untouched windows that I emailed them about have not been cleaned. BIG FAIL. To bad as they seemed to be really nice people.

Purchased a Crowdcut deal that offered "exterior cleaning of up to 25 windows from Excel Window Cleaning for only $59". When the gentlemen arrived to clean my windows, they stated that that really meant 25 PANES, not WINDOWS. Thus, the fee only covered 12.5 WINDOWS. Then, of course, they offered to wash my additional windows at $3/pane, or $6/window. This felt deceitful. I would have hired them to do the rest of my windows - as the price they quoted was in line with what I've paid others for the task and they were here anyway, but chose not to because of what I saw to be false advertising on their Crowdcut deal. I paid the cost for them to get the few additional windows I couldn't reach and then cut it there. The gentlemen that arrived were courteous and did nice work. The gal on the phone who scheduled me was also courteous and helpful. However, something got messed up in the scheduling. They were supposed to arrive between 2 and 4pm, and they showed up at about 9:45 in the morning - when I wasn't home. (I arrive home, however, shortly after they arrived.) All in all, they did fine work. The deal was just misrepresented and that counts them out from further work in my book.

2 guys, 2 ladders, cleaned upper and lower level windows. Done in about 1 hour. Very Satisfied.

Before these two men arrived, I walked around the interior of our house, counting window panes and recorded them on a legal pad. After the windows were cleaned, the owner gave me the bill for x number of window panes, which I disputed. The owner and I walked around the house counting window panes as we walked. Again, it differed from his original count and my count, so we walked around the house once more. I finally gave in, as the count was close enough to my own window pane count. The window panes really sparkled. Both men were professional and courteous. Our main house was built in 1974; solarium additioin in 1990; bedroon/bath/ walk-in closet addition in 2001.

Third attempt at scheduling did the job. they had been so busy this summer that they missed the two hour window we had set on two other occassions. I was tempted to quit them but glad I did not. They did an absolutely beautiful job, were pleasant and respectful. I plan to use their services in the future.

I didn't have the best feeling about this from the start when I had to call them more than once to finally get my window cleaning scheduled. I was told when I called the first time that they would call me back, but that never happened. I wish I would have left it at that since what happened when they actually came to do the work was the most unprofessional experience I have ever had with a contractor coming to my home. When I handed the Groupon to who I assume was the lead of the crew, he told me that each pane of glass was considered a 'window'. He also said the Groupon specified this fact was listed in the fine print. I could not find this statement anywhere on the Groupon that I had printed for them so I asked him to show me. He proceeded to pull out many Groupon certificates from his van but couldn't show me on any of them where it stated that each pane of glass was considered a window. It was evident that he was disappointed in not finding this statement on the certificate. He then got agitated when we didn't accept his 'sorry, this is just the way it is' explanation. He then used some profanity so we sent him on his way. I feel sorry for the other crew member with him who had acted in a professional manner. He was clearly embarrassed. I would have never purchased a deal like the one he explained so I will be requesting a refund.

Bought the Groupon for 25 windows. They charge $4 per ladder climb window and $3 per ground level window. We have 44 windows, so I paid the difference. SUPER nice guys, they did a great job, very fast. Will use them again.

It went excellent. I was very impressed with their work. I would definitely use them again.

Services were purchased from Groupon for cleaning of 25 exterior windows at a discounted rate. Voice mail indicated they were busy and scheduling appointments for June and would returne all messages withing 24-48 hours. This was at the beginning of May. It took 5 phone calls before I actually spoke to someone, because my messages were not returned. My appointment was scheduled for June 12. I received a call that morning from the person handling the job. Due to a thunderstorm he was going to wait and see if the weather improved. He assured me that he would either arrive later that day or I would receive a call from the owner with a rescheduled date. Neither happened. Again, I left 3 messages and none were returned. On the 4th message I said I was going to be requesting a refund. The manager then called me back and said he was on the road and would call me that evening to reschedule. That did not happen. Finally, I contacted Groupon and received a refund. Due to poor customer service I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

FABULOUS! I've been using excel since 2005 and the results and customer service are always top notch! No dripping, splashing of floors and walls or any missed areas on the windows and doors!

I purchased this deal through an online coupon. It probably took me 6 calls back and forth to actually talk to someone. (I would call and leave a message; they would call back when I wasn't available and they would leave a message; and so on). We set up a time for them to come while we were out of town. I left the printed coupon on my door and instructed them to do all of the outside windows, except the ones on our deck which were only accessible from the inside. When we returned the following day, a neighbor who had been watching the house said they arrived at about 1:00 which was several hours later than agreed upon on the phone. Since we were gone, it really didn't matter to us, but it might matter to someone else who is looking for promptness. We have a large picture window in the back which is on the main floor above a walk-out basement. The window has many streaks and only looks to be cleaned about half way up. There was a stain from a bird flying into the window. That stain is still there.

They did a decent job. We are not very good at getting to these windows especially on the second floor. They did a nice job.

Purchased vouchers through Amazon local for windows and pressure washer cleaning. Left 3 messages over the course of a week and a half before someone returned my call (last message I indicated I would be contacting Amazon and BBB). VM indicated they were very busy but they would return all calls within 24 hours....not so much. VM slso said they were already booking into June for projects. I can understand a couple weeks, but a month out? Not helpful. Hire some people! When they finally called I told them I had already gotten a refund on the vouchers and was not interested in doing business with them. I would say they oversold on the vouchers but not returning calls promptly to at least tell customers it will be a long wait before you have clean windows is inexcusable.

I got Excel from an Amazon Local offer, $50 for outside cleaning of 25 windows, normally $100 value. This covered the outside of the porch widows. After an estimate I had Excel clean the rest of my windows. It took about 3-4 hours and they did a beautiful job. It was like taking sunglasses off the windows, no streaks anywhere. I will definitely use them again.

They did a good job. They were a little late in getting here. They were actually a couple hours late. Once they got here they were very friendly. They were very nice guys. They did the job well, they were fine. They were very professional. I would use them again.

I spoke with Dave on the phone and he was very helpful in describing pricing. We scheduled a time for someone to come out within the week to do the job. No one showed up at the scheduled time so I called and left a message. I heard back from him that same day and he apologized profusely saying that one of the employees lost my paperwork. He was very motivated to make it right. He and the owner came out themselves that day and completed the work. They were very professional and pleasant. Dave helped me with a couple of other small projects around the home without charging me for that (showing me how to fix a faucet, help me empty fertilizer from the spreader, retrieved a window from the basement and cleaned it). We had pleasant conversation as well. I felt very comfortable with them and would definitely hire them again.

THEY ARE VERY RELIABLE AND ALWAYS DO A GREAT JOB, SHOW UP WHEN THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO AND NEVER LEAVE ANYTHING HALF DONE.
