Approximately July 26th, I was informed by a guest that I had a giant bee hive around my electric meter. When I checked it out, I waited till evening and sprayed it down (soaked it) with wasp killer. It didn't do the trick so I checked out some pest control companies to see how soon I could get someone out here to evaluate it. I was able to get Rich Morgan of AmeriPride Pest Control to come out the following Monday. When he came, he advised me that these hornets were a tough and difficult bee to exterminate but he knew what to use. He explained that his charges included two bee hives and I told him of a wasp nest under the eave of my house. So he came out early the next morning and apparently sprayed them down and advised me that it would take 24 hours to kill them. I waited 48 hours to be sure to check it out so I could knock the hive down. To my surprise, the hornets nest was still quite active so I called Rich up again and advised him that it didn't do anything. He said he would come out the next day and spray it again and advised me that because it didn't work, he would check out the rest of my property and spray the nests (2 more). I thought this to be admirable. Now I had just a week prior to all this, had back surgery and I was just learning how to walk again with my walker. When he told me he was going to check for other hives, I told him there was one I had found under the eave of my garage in my dogs pen and he asked if I would have the dog removed so he doesn't get poisoned by the spray. I had to go out in my physical condition and put my dog inside the garage early the next morning. When he arrived, I told him again that there was a wasp nest on my garage and he advised me that he would get it taken care of after he was done with the hornets nest. I watched him without him noticing me in the house and he indeed sprayed the hornets nest on my electric meter, but he then left without checking or spraying the other wasp nest (yes, I had two different types of bees in my yard). Now because of his lack of taking care of the bees right the first time, I now have another hornet hive on my tree which I have to find a way to get rid of that one. Now I will admit that I was so angry at this point that I didn't dare call him because I was so angry. As difficult as it was to walk from the back surgery, I moved out of the house to specifically move my dog, as painful as it was. Now I have been out of work for 2 months so I had little or no income coming in, so I prioritized my bills and made arrangements with everyone (except Rich) to get caught up on my bills. Ameripride became my last bill to pay. Yes, I did not call him to make arrangements because I was angry with him, but also I just plain forgot. It's not an excuse and I know it was my responsibility to pay the bill and/or call. The bill is just under 60 days old and I finally was able to have enough to pay the invoice. He claims to have called me numerous times and left messages which is a blatant lie. I received two which I ignored one so yes I am at fault with that. But the second message I received from him was just yesterday. I know that he can take me to court, he can sue me, but his message went beyond that like one of a bully. Threatening to take me to court is one thing, but to threaten me with bringing other bee hives and placing them on my house if I don't pay? Come on! That was unprofessional and showed no pride. To me it was bullying tactics. I have my own business as well and when they don't pay, I don't use tactics like that. It is totally unprofessional and I will not recommend this company to anyone. I am even considering reporting him to the BBB. I still have the recording on my phone. I saved it to send to the BBB. Thank you for your willingness to read this lengthy explanation, but you state that you want all the details. :) Respectfully, Dan Lindgren
Description of Work: Didn't properly kill the hornets nest. Had to recall them back the next day Didn't fulfill what he promised he would do in checking and killing other wasp nests Was rude and threatening, claimed he would bring other bees nests and place them around my electric meter if he didn't get paid. Very unprofessional.
