Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

I checked the list, and saw they had a web site, went to the web site and saw that they had the equipment to service my drain. Booked an online appt. at 11PM at night for the next morning. A rep called first thing in the morning to ask more about our plumbing problem so she could dispatch the right tech for our problem. She dispatched the service tech to come to our home, he called 30 minutes before arriving to announce the time he would be there. He showed up with 1 minute to spare! He put on booties over his boots, and was conscious of keeping the work site extremely clean-using towels and plastic bags. The tech was friendly, professional and didn't try to up-sell or price gouge us because we were in a bind. To sum it up, my experience was excellent, great value, professional, courteous and would recommend. I also want to note, they had a newsletter I signed up for and I got a coupon emailed to me for signing up.

They stayed late, around 10 pm, in attempt to solve the problem and worked hard. I would consider using them again.

We had a small flood in our basement due to a main drain line backup, and I called Roto Rooter. I could have had someone out within about 3 hours, but chose instead to have someone come out the next morning. He cleared the clog, told me the cause of it, and offered to fix it, although I declined for now. They were prompt, and the service was good, and there was no extra charge for coming out on a Saturday morning (although on a Friday night it would have been an extra $30.00).

Service was very good. Called the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Others we checked charged double or were closed on the weekend. Roto Rooter charged their standard fees. We called in the morning for an appointment. They called to let us know when we were next on the list. The service person who came was helpful and did the job within 10 minutes. We got a 10% new customer discoun, and the work is guaranteed for 6 months.

When he fixed the sink upstairs, he took apart both sides. When he was done, he only put one side back together, so when the other side of sink was used it leaked everywhere. When we tried to call them about this, they gave us a hard time because the plumber didn't report to the company that he had fixed the sink. Finally, after many phone calls they sent another guy out. This plumber was able to fix the problem. Next time, we'll just contact a neighbor to have work done.

Came out twice because some pieces of debris had fallen into the drain after it was cleaned out the first time. They guaranteed their work for 6 months, so we didnt have to pay for the 2nd service. They are very professional, very friendly, they know what they are talking about and they dont try to rip you off.

He knew right away what needed to be done. Overall, I think he did an excellent job. I just think the price is too high.

The contractor sent out by Roto-Rooter came promptly at 10:00 am. We showed him the toilets and the shower upstairs and he told us he could make the repairs. We didn't get an estimate beforehand and once we got the initial price (a little over $500.00), it was too much for us to afford. We decided to repair the toilet upstairs and arrange to do the 2nd one later. Jay didn't have a handle for the shower but he agreed to put one on for us if I could get one before he was done with the toilet and he did. He also installed a new shower head that we purchased at a earlier date. Jay was friendly and professional and we felt he did good work. We would hire him again.

It went very well. Spencer was very thorough in checking that the main drain was the issue. Once he cleaned the drain he tested all of the drains to make sure that my water issue in the basement was resolved.

The first person to come out was on a Sunday night, and he was unable to open the main line cleanout because he did not have any tools to do so. So he told us that someone would be out between 8 and 10 am the next morning. At 9:30am, I called the company, and they said that they did not have me on the schedule, and that no one was on their way. The dispatcher apologized and then said they would send over someone as soon as possible. Finally, someone got to the house at 11:30am. I was a little upset because I had canceled an 8am doctors appointment because I wanted my drain cleaned as soon as possible. If I had known they wouldnt have shown up anyways, I would have gone to my appointment. The guy who came out on Monday was great, pleasant, and did a good job explaining about what needed to be done. I was not charged for the Sunday night appointment where nothing was done. Overall, an OK experience, the work got done, but with some hassle.

I couldnt be more pleased. I called expecting to schedule something within a few days, instead I got someone at my door in about 2 hours. Dan arrived promptly, was friendly and professional. He came in, took a look at the situation and gave me an estimate within about 5 minutes. He then ran to a supply store for a couple items and set to work. After getting the plumbing connections done, he discovered the drain wasnt flowing very well. He offered to snake it at a reduced rate since he had already done the other work. So, he went over the estimate, but only by the amount of the additional work. In reality, he probably should have charged me a lot more, as he ended working almost 2 hours longer than planned. Overall, he was expensive, but did a great job. The cost was tempered by the additional work he performed. I also feel confident that I wont have to call him back to re-do any of the work, which is worth a lot. I will call Roto Rooter and request Dan for any future work.

Easy. I called, they were able to make an appointment right away for a time that I was not going to be at work. They showed up on time, gave me quote, and performed the work. The price was steep, especially because it took less than an hour. However we got it done, and I didn't have time to shop around or get additional estimates.

We had run down nearly a gallon of Liquid Plumber Gel (which had worked in our bathroom at one time). He worked about an hour, he was easy to work with and cooperative. Thoughtfully answered my questions. I was pleased with the work.

He found tree roots in the drain and cleared them out. He didnt take off his boots so he left a bit of a mess. He didnt want to clear the whole 15 feet initially only wanted to do 10 but I talked him into doing all the way to the street for an addtl. fee. He had to remove floor drain cap which had rusted shut and when he went to replace it wouldnt screw back on so I had to go buy a new one. The replacement cap was cheap so it wasnt a big deal. He recommended buying some of their products that keep the drains clear all the time, but they are kind of expensive.

We were very pleased with their services. They were wonderful to us. They got to our home in a very timely fashion and rectified the problem we were experiencing. We would give them our business in the future and recommend them to others.

Outstanding! The Culligan man had just finished servicing the water softener, but couldn't cycle the system because the floor drain backed up. I called Roto Rooter at 11:00 a.m. and was told a technician could be out within two hours. Josh called within 5 minutes to say he was on his way. He completely cleared the drain, tested it thoroughly and was gone by 12:15. Fast, friendly and they do what they say they'll do. I can't ask for anything more.

The old seal failed on December 24 and the repair was done an hour before our guests arrived without any problems. I had difficulty finding a plumber even amoung those that offer emergency service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. But, we have used Roto-Rooter in the past and they have always been reliable.

The technician showed up at 7:00 as scheduled. He kept the carpets clean by putting covers on the wheels of his machine and also by putting a drop cloth on the carpet under the area he was working. He needed to run the auger through the lines twice because during the first pass through the line the blade broke. In total it took about one and a half hours to complete the job. The technician was very professional in both appearance and attitude.

I called at 3:00 and they said theyd have someone in a couple of hours. They said theyd call a half hour before they arrived. I was contacted again 30 minutes before they came, which was on time. Don arrived and quickly assessed the situation. I told him I needed my floor drain cleaned out to the street. He pointed out that the line I wanted cleaned went to a six inch pipe before it went out to the street. He did a quick test to see if the drain would backup while flushing my basement toilet. Since the flushing didnt effect the toilet, he said that my six inch pipe to the street was fine. He told me what it would cost ($139) and I agreed to the work. First he cleaned the floor drain, but when he tested the laundry sink, it was still slow. He then snaked the laundry sink to the floor drain. Overall, I was quite pleased with their service.

Our sewer backed up twice in one week. The first time the line was was cleaned and flow was restored. However, the plumber did not find the correct main clean-out and therefore the drain backed up again four days later. The second plumber did a much more thorough job, finding the main clean-out and diagnosing a problem with the main line. They gave us an estimate for the excavation work, but we used a different company since the RotoRooter excavation estimate was 50% higher than others.

I made the call at 2:15 PM. Dan was at our door at 3:20 PM. Gave a estimate, started work and was finished by 4:30 PM. With one drain being repaired and a estimate on the repair of the other drain.

Our kitchen sink backed up on Sunday afternoon. My husband tried to snake it but the clog was too far down the pipe. My husband called Roto Rooter after checking Angie's List. They were able to send someone Monday morning. Pete called Monday morning and was here right on time and the clog was gone within an hour. We own an older home and Pete was helpful with preventative maintenance advice.

We had a leak in our basement from a pipe that serviced our laundry room. The serviceman couldn't find the issue immediately and thought he would have to put a hole in our wall to determine the problem. However, he was not convinced that we had a leaky pipe and kept looking. He determined that a washer in the utility sink was leaking and draining to a sponge at the back of the sink which was then dripping back down the outside of the cold water pipe. Given this, all he had to do was change the washer and not tear open the wall. Although I think the cost was a bit steep for what actually had to be done, the serviceman saved us the cost of having to repair the wall. Also, I was paying for the base service call as part of the fee.

The service guy didnt say a word, but he cleared the clog and that is all that matters! The price is high, but they came quickly.

At the time I thought that it went great. This is my first house and I've never had to hire a plumber before so the fact that it got fixed seemed successful. He cleaned it out and then sold me tree root killer to flush in the toilet. The problem was three weeks later when the basement flooded again, and I realized that they had only stuck a bandaid on a problem that needed more. Almost immediately after 1 month I could no longer shower. The next plumber I called, based on a friend recommendation, was incredible. He told me immediately that this wasn't going to be a standard pipe cleaning;that I needed to contact a company that would be able to re-fit the pipe so that their equipment could take care of it. He let me know right away that without fixing this pipe I would only be prolonging the problem, and that the root killer doesn't work; despite the $50 price tag. (In addition, the 1st root poison container had been ruined & opened.) I will NEVER contact roto rooter again.
