Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

George and Paul were the primary workers. They were excellent. There were a number of problems-the start of bad winter weather, a water line were it wasn't supposed to be, etc. The Company did it right, responded to the complications, and came back in the Spring to finish grading work. They did good work at a fair price. We were very pleased with the good job.

The work went fine. The plumber was knowledgeable and installed a new garbage disposal that I had bought at a home improvement store. He actually improved a pipe seal ring that I had put on myself months before because it would not last, he said. I had a coupon which lowered the price by $29.

They did the work and sold us a drain maintenance solution we could continue to use to keep the drain open.

The price was a little high I thought. I am still satisfied with the work though.

Roto Rooter is very responsive and can schedule an appointment within 24 hours. They are able to call you in advance to give you some lead time and let you know that they are on their way. This visit took only about 10 or 15 minutes as Roto Rooter discovered that my drain was clogged with hair. They recommended a monthly treatment to keep my drains running freely.

Everything went well. They came out and diagnosed the problem and got everything cleared out. They showed up on time and got in and out of there as quick as possible.

They were very professional, they were on time on. The guys that came were very friendly and took their time to make sure everything was fine, they helped us out with information.

After trying to clear the clog ourselves, called Roto Rooter late Monday afternoon and they came out the next morning. Friendly service man, on time, worked efficiently. Finished in under an hour for the price quoted.

Have used them for years, twice a year. In the last few years the work been fair to poor. Getting a person who knows what do is getting rarer and rarer. Nights and weekends is very hard get someone who can to the job right the first time. Some are nothing but con artists. They try to not check off the standard company guarantee on the paperwork. One person gave me his personal phone to call me if I needed anymore work in the future, bypassing the company. It' s as gotten to the point that I have to tell them what blade they need to use do the job. The last three time in had service done, I had to call them back within two weeks to have it done again.

It went very well working with them, they did a lot of work. We have been using their services for years. Their guarantee is very good, we have had to use it in the past. We have always like the workers they have. They are good about giving an estimate up front.

They used a 6 inch blade for a four inch pipe. It ended up ruining our pipes causing a back up. We had to call someone else to dig up our yard and replaced the pipes because Roto-Rooter was such a high price. In the fine print of the contract they state they are not responsible for any damages.

The work was done in thirty minutes. The receipt that my tenet of 6 years claimed he had to chase the service man to get reads " Floor drain clogged. Rental property landlord not present at time of service. Main line clogged; ml ran approx 75 to clean. Floor drain approx 35 ft- ??? to clear." My tenet did sign the receipt!! It further states "Landlord gave authorization of (by) phone." There is an additional charge of $51.00 for product. The bill total was $429.07. When I got the bill I questioned the amount calling their "billing inquiries" number, leaving a message that I would like someone to call. That message was ignored. I called again and was was told the bill would be looked at and I would be called back the next day. They failed to call back, I called again asking to speak to management and left another message. I received a call about two hours later. I am not sure if the call was from the first call I placed or the second call or if their manager handles billing as well. The floor drain is located about 10 feet from the main drain so I'm surprised that he could run "approx 35 feet". I'm also surprised that both drains were clogged when my tenet told me different. I asked to meet with my tenet, the serviceman, their management and myself at the house where the service was done so we could work this out. They refused, however they agreed to pick up the "product" and credit that.

Poorly. We called for emergency service on a Saturday night around 9pm. They said they could have someone out at 8am the next morning (Sunday). By 10:30 no one had arrived. When we called, they said, "Oh, it was actually between 8 and 10 and he's running late". Called again at 11:45 and were told that their electricity had been out and they couldn't contact us to let us know that he was going to be late. Called again at 12:45 and was told "We can't help nature ma'am" (referring to the power outage), although I'm not sure what that had to do with the plumber being 5 hours late. Finally canceled at 1:15pm and got no apology from the representative. Worst customer service I've ever experienced.

There were actually two drains that were backed up. One's in the kitchen and one's right below it in the laundry room. There was a potential that he might have to do something to both of them. He was actually was able to get it taken care of on the kitchen level which saved me money. He even checked to make sure that it was good to go. I haven't had any problems since.

Due to water backing up in the basement of two rental units, we needed help on an emergency basis - I was told a tech could be there in an hour - actually took nearly 2 hours, but I wasn't too concerned - though I did have to call to find out about the delay. The work was performed in two hours - and the tech was very professional and thorough. I felt that the price was outrageously expensive - even though I was told up front what the charge would be, but as it was an emergency, I couldn't help but feel a bit taken advantage of. My price did include $48 for a gallon of their Pipe Shield product. $48 a GALLON? Really?

The service was very professional, courteous, and prompt. I called at 4:15 & they had someone here by 4:45. The technician explained what the problem was, how he was going to fix it, and how to avoid the same problem in the future.

They did a wonderful job and I've used them twice since this job.

This is a company very respectful to their customers, from the person on the phone to the person setting up the appointments to the technician doing the work on the drain. He answered any questions we had and was very professional.

Todd was the technician they sent out. He was very efficient and did a great job. The man who came out was very helpful in helping me decide which system to get. The installation went very well and the technician was very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend them.

My experience was a negative one. The clog was removed in just minutes, but the technician refused to fix the leak because he had offered the discount. I complained that the very term "discount" refers to a change in price, not labor. I have submitted a formal complaint and have not received any response. Furthermore, I had to listen to the technician and his apprentice making female hygiene jokes when they came upon a box of tampons under the sink. I pretended not to hear these comments and counted the seconds until they left.

We contacted Roto-Rooter the same day the work was performed. Jeff arrived within one hour of our initial call to Roto-Rooter. He was very prompt,friendly and professional. Once he saw the job(s), he gave an estimate of $278 which, we thought, was rather high. We decided to have Jeff do the work because the service charge would have been $90 for the estimate. The work took a very long time due to the clogged drains. Jeff worked on the drains for 3 1/4 hr. He seemed to do a very thorough job and we appreciate that.
