Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

I discovered a leak in the laundry room on Wednesday evening and called around to get a plumber to come out and correct the problem. RotoRooter scheduled an appointment for between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Friday, and I arranged to work from home on that day in order to let him into the house. At 2:45 p.m. Friday I called to find out what had happened to the plumber and was told that all of their plumbers were still working on jobs taken even earlier in the morning and that they would have to reschedule for Monday or Tuesday. I will now try to find another plumber late Friday afternoon because RotoRooter overbooked and apparently treats a four-hour commitment window as giving them four days to get to a job that I scheduled with the expectation of some response. This is a slipshod, unprofessional way to run a company.

Asked to be connected with manager and he refused to apologize and proceeded to talked over me.

Job was completed professionally. Cost was about 2X what other plumbers had quoted over the phone.

Awful. I left work early to be home at 3:00 as I was told that a technician would be here between 3 and 5:00. At 4:30 I called to see what the status was of my repair and was told by the dispatcher that the plumbers were running extremely late. The one scheduled for my job wouldn't be available until Monday. This was less than the standard for customer service I was expecting. I should have been called earlier to receive this news so I could get back to work. I shouldn't have been the one to call to inquire on the lateness of a technician. They should have called me, send me a text message, or even an email. Instead, I got nothing about the late schedule until I had called.

Went well, they snaked the pipe three times removing the debris that had contributed to the backup of water in the basement that happened when doing laundry.

Very polite and professional, if I ever have water back up in the basement again I'll definitely use them again.

We had an emergency leak we needed help with, and we scheduled 3 days out. Against better judgment, we decided to give Roto-Rooter a shot based on many positive reviews. We were given a time window, and towards the end of the window on the scheduled day of service, a call center rep called to see if anyone had called us two hours earlier, as their log said. We confirmed that we had not received any call. The call center rep then said that no one would be available anyway, and that they'd like to reschedule the next day or two. We decided to cancel in hopes of working for a more customer-oriented firm. I found the experience very unprofessional, and I would caution that this feels like working through a high volume call center that has no interaction with the field. If you're open to taking the risk of a cancelation, then this is your shop.

20 minutes early, called 1 minute before showing up. Gave me high quote. Just wanted it over with. 30 minutes later, he was done. I was out 700 dollars. The pipe..still clogged. He said "sorry I don't have my kit"...apparently he didn't quote me to actually unplug the drain and I had to call..a roto rooter..team. He asked me..to vacuum up after him. NEVER call Roto Rooter. Worst experience as a home owner using a plumber in 20 years.

Wonderful response time, friendly service, great guy - he did a thorough job, explained his work, and cleaned up after himself. He also took time to give us advice about cleaning up the mess we had from the drain backing up, and how to prevent it in the future. Would definitely hire again. Price was super reasonable.

Our main sewer line was clogged and Josh, #4348, came to the rescue! He explained what he was doing every step of the way, discussed our financial options, talked about preventative steps we could take, and spent over 2 hours cleaning pipes, using a video camera to show us potential problem spots, and replacing a broken cap on one of the pipes. He was respectful, efficient, and cleaned up as he went. Thanks to Josh, we are 100% satisfied customers.

Roto-Rooter did a fantastic job. They arrived promptly to clean up the backup and then immediately scheduled the full cleanup with dehumidifiers and dryers. The full cleanup process took several days but they were reliable and explained everything they were doing.

They were professional and responsive. Price was as quoted but higher than others who previously performed the same service.

Very good, that drain was cleaned and he followed up and made sure the main drain downstairs was cleaned out also

They were very quick to answer and to send out a technician. For that, and the fact that the technician got the drains unplugged quickly, I would give them an A+. I was told that a camera inspection was included in the $500 I paid; it was scheduled for the next morning. That fellow showed me a photo from my drain, implied that it was a serious problem, said they could have a crew out in two days to dig up my yard and perhaps part of the street, and gave me an estimate for $12,000. Thankfully I contacted another service to assess the drain system - said it would probably last another 5 - 10 years. D-

I have used Roto-Rooter before and I was glad during this visit that I had. Brian was able to tell me that it had been 2 years since they were last out so perhaps the main line should be cleared in case a back-up had caused the cap to come off. He found roots (main) and lint (floor drain to main line) so it was good to do this before I had water all over the basement floor. Tomorrow, a representative will come out and use a camera on the main line - a service now included in the drain clearing. Brian was polite, friendly and helpful. He was careful not to track snow and dirt into the house.

Fixed and informed us not the first time they had been there; just bought the place

Service was prompt; called prior to arrival as requested. I was given several options to fix the problem.

I was quoted 1/2 a day of work and charged $1300. The plumber went to get basic connection parts and was away for a full hour. I will not hire them again without getting an estimate first.

Plumber came and looked at the situation. Told me it was frozen pipes and I should hold a hair dryer on it for a couple of hours until it thawed and left. The bright side was that he didn't charge me. The downside was that it wasn't frozen pipes.

I scheduled an appointment over the phone to have a plumber come out for a quote and was told they would be here between 2:00-4:00. I then received an email saying that they would be out between 2:00-6:00, a little frustrating that it was such a wide range of time and different than what I was original told, but I needed a plumber so it's fine. I took the afternoon off to meet them since they don't do weekend appointments and waited. I was told they would call 30 minutes before coming, so I waited for their call. After waiting until 4:45, I finally received a call, only it wasn't too tell me they were on their way. The guy on the phone didn't say anything but, "I'm going to have to reschedule for Monday." No explanation why, no apology, just that he was going to reschedule the appointment. I proceeded to tell him that Monday didn't work for me and I would need to schedule the appointment to be at 4:30 or later, because I wasn't going to take work off again to meet them. The guys response, "yeah, Plumbers don’t do that." (What do you mean you can't schedule it that late? The appointment was only for a quote and I had to make sure I was here until 6:00!) I just told them I wouldn't be needing their services and ended the conversation.

I had a small sewer back-up on a Saturday and a tech was out and had it cleared within a couple of hours. They came back again to video the line and it showed my old sewer line had lots of roots growing into it. They explained the sewer lining process which I decided to have done to avoid future problems. They got the lining installed in one day and on follow-up video, it looked great. The entire team was great to work with and very professional.

The plumber came out off hours and did a good job of fixing the leaking pipe. The other people that came out to solicit water damage restoration work were too pushy and unnecessary.

Workers went right to work and accomplished the job with minimal disruption. Also want a shout out to Chris, who did the camera work. Had to come back a number of times, but was actually concerned that the job was done correctly. He has great customer service.
