Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Service was done well, quickly and cleanly. The original window of time was 8:30-12:30 and he arrived at 3:30pm. I was updated multiple times throughout the day but still had to take a whole day off work to wait.

Went very well. Robbie the technician (#3430) was excellent. Within 4 hours of calling to get some hello they were out and the problem fixed....amazing in this day and age when you often times have to schedule weeks out. The tech was friendly, efficient and very professional. The bathroom was left very clean. Thank You!

My drain backed-up on Saturday morning, they were able to put me on the schedule the for that afternoon. Juan the service person showed up approximately 2 PM, within the 1 - 5 PM window promised. He was very thorough and professional and in additon to cleaning out the drain pipe explained that the reason why my drain backs up when water is poured out on the floor in the laundry room is because the rubber ball used in old drains like mine to keep water from backing up out of the drain was no longer working correctly. He gave me the option of leaving the ball in or removing it, I elected to leave it in. He suggested an idea other clients use to make the drain in their laundry room sink (where my washer empties into) drain more slowly, which is to buy a new drain plug and then cut some of it off and then put the partial plug in the drain hole of the sink. Juan didn't rush his work and was very friendly and helpful. I didn't do any comparison price shopping, perhaps an "off-brand" provided would be less expensive but Roto-rooter did the work on time and to my satisfaction.

Service provider came soon within the 2 hour window and cleaned the drain. Very fast & professional. Highly recommend them.

The technician was knowledgeable, courteous, thorough and informative. Although the work ended up being so much more than a simple sillcock replacement; he made sure I understood the whole process. He finished up by going over everything with me again and ensuring he had answered all my questions. I've used Roto-Rooter many times over the years and have always had good service; however, being a single wage-earner/homeowner it's very difficult to take their hourly rate.

Went well. I really appreciated the service being done the same day that I called, especially because it was the Friday before Labor day and I had company coming that weekend. The drain is still working fine.

Came out promptly. Totally professional. Explained what the problem was, how it occurred and how he would fix it. Great job all around.

Fred #4155 arrived at my requested time and set straight to work. He understood what I had already done to fix the situation. He quickly wrote and estimate and brought in his tools. He found what I suspected which was a large residue of lapidary sediment from my hobby was clogging the drain. He was very neat and cleaned the work area afterwards. While the price was a little higher than my plumber, he came right at the requested time!

They were prompt, they fixed everything up, and were in and out as promised. I would recommend them to anyone.

My basement sewer drain, below my wash tubs, flooded part of the basement floor after I had done a wash load of clothes. I called Roto Rooter for help about 8am. I was told someone would be out between 9a-1p. The person arrived after 230p however, I was called to say the technician was running behind schedule. After the technician arrived he asked questions about the problem and then proceeded to use a cable to try and clear the line. The cable went 105 ft from the house, out to the city street, two times but he said the line wouldn't open and then said he would have to charge me another $187.00 to go further. I told him no, that I would call the city and have them check the sewer line because the clog was now probably in the citys responsibility. He also wanted to charge me $55.75plus tax for a gallon of pipe shield. I thought that was an outrageous priced for a gallon of who knows what. I called the city and left a message about my situation. Since the office was closed for the day, they sent out someone the next morning. The city checked the line and said my connection to the city was clear and recommended another company, which is local and a family run operation, to do the work because the clog was just inside my part of the sewer line. I called the other company and they came out in 45 minutes, cleared out the drain, which happened to be sand which may have seeped through the connection from galvanized pipe to tile. We also had a lot of street work done last summer so the construction may have also caused the problem. The other company also called the city to come and flush out the sewer on my street so that the sand would be washed away. He also charged me about half of what Roto Rooter did. I have found myself another great company to do my work from here on out. ** Update** A few days after this review was made, I received a call from the Assistant General Manager for Roto Rooter. We discussed my review and he wanted to know what could have been done to make the situation better. I was impressed that company actually reads reviews and that it shows they are concerned about customer service. I was advised me a refund check would be mailed to me for all the trouble and I received the check today, Oct 21, 2015.

Service was excellent. Main sewer drain began backing up in laundry room. Called RotoRooter and had a technician at the house within an hour. Technician cleared the line from the house to the street and began testing. Further backups in other drain lines became apparent. He then opened up some other drain covers that hadn't been opened since the house was built (late '40s). This took a lot of extra work on his part. Then he cleaned out those lines and got everything working again. He also replaced the drain covers with new ones that will be much easier to remove in the future. Service was very professional. No extra charges for the additional work. I would definitely use Roto-Rooter again.

The provider came within a couple of hours and at the time promised. He was professional, considerate and efficient. He got the job done and cleaned up after himself. The price was a little higher than I expected, given that we had another plumber perform the same service to our downstairs drain a couple weeks before, and he was ~$100 less. Nonetheless, service was prompt when I needed it, and I was satisfied.

I went online and through the chat feature worked with someone to have the two products sent out to me. To date I have not received the second product. And I have not had anyone tell me that they would be delivering it. When I was working with the agent on the phone, he told me that someone would deliver it in 3 to 5 days. I expected that to happen and instead I started receiving phone calls from the dispatch office of roto-rooter asking me if my service call has been complete. On the first call I notified the agent that I had in fact only ordered some of the products. The agent thanked me for my time and said that they would be delivered soon. The next day I received another service call asking me if I had received my products. I did not receive my product that day I told the person and instead I told him that I had expected to receive them in 3 to 5 days and or if a person who was working in the area had the opportunity they would drop the products off at my home. Two days later I received an email that notified me that one of the two products have been dropped off at my home and a receipt was attached. I've been received a request for service indicating to me that in the eyes of roto-rooter my service has been completed. In fact I never did receive the second product.

The work is great and the plumber was professional.

Jake, plumber #4092, did an excellent job and was very professional. he worked quickly to diagnose the problem, talked me through 2 options for a clean-out install (to make future DIY pipe snake cleaning easier), and effectively cleaned the drain with a cable snake. He put in extra time to make sure the blockage was clear by running the sink on full blast and doing a super size cycle in the laundry machine. overall, a very good experience and I am confident the problem is solved now, because the floor drain does not back up with water at all now. Before Roto-Rooter came over every time we'd do a load of laundry our entire utility room floor would flood.

It went very well. He was earlier than was predicted and did a very thorough job. He was very professional and cleaned up nicely.

Because this is an old house, it wasn't necessarily obvious to the repairman where/what the problem was, but he investigated the situation very professionally and soon had everything in great shape. He came on a Sunday (isn't that always when these problems happen?), evidently at no additional charge. I was thrilled with that. I will definitely use these guys again, next time we have a problem.

Not exactly our idea of a Friday night date, but Roto Rooter came out on a Friday night for no additional after-hours cost - which is great since these things seem to never happen during regular hours. Robbie the tech (#3430) was very professional and took care to utilize shoe and wheel covers and cleaned up after he was finished.

I had a pin hole sized leak in a pipe in my basement that I discovered on Sunday. I called Roto-Rooter Sunday at around 4 PM, they said they couldn't get anyone out there that day, but tomorrow should be no problem. I agreed, shut off my water and waited until Monday. I was supposed to receive a call, which I don't believe I received on Monday. I called again at the end of the day and they told me that there would be no one available to do the work on Monday, but they would definitely get to me on Tuesday and would call me to let me know when. Tuesday came and by 4 PM I finally called them. I was informed that there was going to be no one available to service me yet again on Tuesday. I can't speak to the work that they do because they never made it out here to do it, despite many promises, but if I ever need work done again I'll be going through a long list of plumbers before I call Roto-Rooter again. I believe all of my contact was with their Plymouth office, but I'm not 100% sure.

The technician was supposed to come between 9am and 11am - they called at about 8:10 and asked if 30 minutes out was ok, it was, he showed up and gave us a free estimate for the service. We called Roto-rooter because the previous home owner thought that roto-rooter was the service he used in the past and had recommended service every two years. When I phoned, Roto-rooter did not find any record, the technician that came to the home however was able to find our past service somehow. We did call another company for an estimate and they would not even guess at the cost and charged $79.00 for the service call just to give an estimate. The technician at roto-rooter emphasized that the service call was free unless we went with the service. We found him to be honest, professional and knowledgeable. We will use again.

I found water coming up through our basement drain and immediately called RotoRooter. The phone operator was friendly and listened while I described the issue. The dispatcher called shortly after my initial contact when the tech was on the way. The company was able to schedule me for same day service and the whole process (from initial call to completion) was done in about 2 1/2 hours. The tech (Jeff, tech ID number 2205) arrived on time and was very friendly, professional, and informative. He carefully explained the issue and then walked me through the whole process. We chatted as he worked and he filled me in on the progress. After the job was done Jeff cleaned up the area so well that it didn't even look like he spent the last hour pulling out tree roots from our drain. Side note--the tech was friendly with both my kid and dog. We used this company in the past (about 8 years ago) and were really unhappy with the service (both in terms of mess--black water from the auger dripped down the white carpet on the stairs to the basement, unfriendly and angry service tech who refused to even acknowledge that the water came from the equipment. For these reasons I dreaded calling them when I saw that we had a drain problem. Our experience this time was completely the opposite. Fast, prompt, professional, friendly from start to finish. We will definitely use this company again.

It went very well. The serviceman arrived when they said he would. He was professional and polite, he was driving a company vehicle and wearing company work clothing. He accessed the situation, diagnosed the problem and then he repaired it. He advised of a service Roto Rooter has which I was unaware of "home renovation" service which will come out - dry the insulation and repair the ceiling. I have not checked into the cost of this yet as it is not an imminent home repair issue at this time (now that the leaking has been fixed) but it is important. He did a professional job and cleaned up the area after the ceiling-insulation business.
