Diversified Drainage

I have worked with many contractors and completed six figure remodels on homes in the past. Working with diversified drainage was a wonderful experience. Mitch and Doug are extremely competent, priced fairly and know how to handle storm and water drainage at residential and commerical properties. We now have state of the art drainage at our property and are very happy with the results. Their solutions are quality, work and they also stand behind their customer satisfaction. I would highly recommend working with them.

The person I talked to on the phone said that someone would call me within one business day. That didn't happen. I read previous F reviews that cited the same problem of non-responsiveness. The basic response to this by Diversified was that they were too busy to respond. If that's the case, I'd suggest Diversified take its listing off Angie's List.

Mitch estimated the job and fully explained what they would do to assure that our minimal grade would not freeze. The installation crew was on time, very courteous and explained every step of the physical job installation. We were very happy with the work performed and the restoration efforts that they took.

Mitch and his crew were very easy to work with, professional, friendly, and knowledgeable.

It didn't. I called twice, spoke to someone each time, and never got a call back. Moving on.

This is a follow up review, I first posted when my project was completed in the spring. Diversified Drainage installed an extensive drain tile system around an addition to my house that was heaving during the winter. Now that we are into the winter season and the soil is freezing, I can confirm that the solution worked. No evidence of heaving. Thanks for solving the problem.

OUTSTANDING quality and work ethic!!! Truly EXCEPTIONAL!!! My wife and I were blown away by the QUALITY and WORK ETHIC of this crew. The project took a few weeks to complete. The crew showed up PROMPTLY every morning around 8 AM and did not leave before 5 PM despite a 90+ minute commute each way. When they arrived, they immediately went straight to work only took one short break for lunch each day. They even showed up and worked in the rain. And they were always polite and friendly. Our project was especially complicated because it involved removing and reinstalling pre-existing (expensive) landscaping, which included a large, 800+ square foot freeform paver patio. We marveled at how they managed to put the paver patio back together BETTER THAN THEY FOUND IT. The entire job was executed with care and precision. We are VERY HAPPY with the finished product and the REMARKABLE SERVICE we received. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Diversified Drainage.

I was very pleased with the work done by this contractor. The crew arrived early, worked hard all day, and cleaned up after themselves every day before leaving. They completed a very large project in four days. They also did a nice job restoring my yard after the project was completed.

Company responded quickly with quote. Work completed in a timely fashion. They regraded hill in back of house to allow for proper drainage away from house. Sod replaced. Initial sod had some brown areas which they came back and replaced.

I originally got a quote last fall about putting drainage in. Explained my situation and Mitch stated this is what needed to be done to resolve my issues. I wanted until this Spring to do it as all the rain we have had my issues were becoming more bothersome. Mitch was great I called him back and asked if the quote was still valid he said yes it was and got me on the schedule. It took a little bit for their response back but mainly because they were extremely busy due to all the rain. I was very satisfied with the installation of the drain tile. Aaron came on site very professional. Told me what he was going to do it and how it would help. He was outstanding to work with and the quality of the job was awesome. They cleaned up very well and my SOD is growing back into place. After it was installed we have had significant rain fall. I checked the spots where the drain tile was put in. It was a little wet at first but by the next day it was completely dry. Usually it would take a week if not longer for this to dry up! I was very pleased overall with the experience.

Since moving into my home in 2009 I have had a drainage problem along the side of my home that involved two problems. Problem #1 was that my sump pump pipe would drain into the lawn and create problems with standing water. No matter how long of a sump pump hose I bought, I was constantly moving its position in the lawn in order to vary where the water would drain into my yard. Problem #2 was that I had a couple of low lying areas near my home that collected water during heavy rains and also during spring time snow melt. This water would then flow into my home and the sump pump would need to work overtime in order to drain it all away from the home. I searched for drainage contractors here on Angie's List and found Diversified Drainage. I contacted Mitch and he came to the house and assessed my situation. Mitch suggested digging a trench and laying a pipe underground that would run all the way from my sump pump outlet to a drain near the back of my property. Secondly, he suggested re-landscaping a portion of my yard to eliminate the low lying areas and creating a slope that would drain water away from my home. I agreed to the work and in early May 2014 the project was completed. All of the work was done in one day. In fact, they did it all while I was at work and buy the time I came home, it was a completed project. The only reason Diversified Drainage needed to return was to lay sod for the re-landscaping (sod was not yet available the day the project was done). It has been several weeks since the project was completed and I would have to call it a success. We have had several rain storms since the project was complete and my yard looks better and is drier because I do not have a sump pump hose laying in the yard. Also, the sump pump is running less often because the new landscaping is carrying water away from the house instead of pooling in the low lying areas.

Scheduled appointment for them to stop out and take a look at a drainage issue. Called the guy 30 minutes after the scheduled time and he said, he did not have the appointment in his book. Rescheduled for the following Monday morning, he called 30 minutes prior to the appointment to say he would be 30 minutes late. Not going to do business with someone who cannot even make it to an appointment on time...on 2 occassions.

Since it was nearing the end of the season, these guys did a great job. Cut and replaced sod, Cleaned up the excavation. It was such a rush job, I couldn't get an electrician until the following week. These guys went out and bought the electrical cable and buried it so when the electrician finally came out all he needed to do was hook up the sump and put in a new breaker.

In April, Diversified Drainage helped correct the grading around the house we were about to sell. They were not the cheapest bid we got (although they weren't THAT much more than the other bids we got), but they were definitely the most responsive of all the companies we contacted, the most professional, and they did a tremendous job. We were so pleased that when we moved to our new house in a different area of town, we hired them again in July to regrade much of the back yard, and install a drain and drain pipe, thanks to lots of flooding in our basement. (So much for accurate disclosure statements from the previous owners...) Again, they were not the cheapest bid, but they had the best plan of any contractor we contacted, and did tremendous work. They also were able to do the work sooner than anyone else, and came a week before they had originally said they could, which we REALLY appreciated!! Everyone else had a wait time of about 2 months, and we only had to wait 2 weeks! The best part: With all the rain this spring, sod was hard to come by since apparently sod farms in the area were flooded. Diversified Drainage was the only company to suggest removing our sod, doing the regrading and drainage system installation, then laying back down our old sod. Everyone else said we'd have to re-seed the entire area since sod wasn't available, which we weren't keen on since we have 3 kids and 2 dogs who would have a hard time staying out of that area. The end result looks even better than it did before - the slope is away from the house, there isn't standing water in our lawn any more, so the grass is actually doing much better now. Later in July, my in-laws were having some water in their basement so I recommended Diversified Drainage to my in-laws. They came out to their house, looked at the situation, and told my in-laws that they didn't need regrading or drainage installation, they needed new gutters! There was no charge for the visit, and my in-laws were impressed that they actually turned down the work because it wasn't necessary. They were able to fix their problem by calling a gutter company instead. We were already impressed by Diversified Drainage's work, now we were impressed by their integrity as well. They are an outstanding company and I would recommend them very highly to anyone who had drainage issues on their property. They've earned a glowing review from us, 3 times over!

Came out a few days after I contacted him and reviewed the project and measured. A day later he sent me detailed bid.

They came out when they said they would and installed the drain. The standing water immediately dried up.

Diversified Drainage did a spectacular job! I had a serious drainage and standing water problem which I could not solve myself. I called Diversified Drainage and set an appointment for an estimate. Mitch arrive on the day scheduled, on time. Mitch was straightforward and very knowledgeable. It seemed he knew what I needed before I explained but, he let me explain anyway. He gave me an estimate, by e-mail that day along with a diagram of the work to be done. Mitch told me that it would take about a month to get to my project. Three weeks later Mitch called and scheduled the day that the work would be done. The crew from Diversified Drainage arrive exactly on time on the day scheduled. Aaron, the crew leader told me that the project might take two days and I was fine with that. They put in the entire drainage system, which was about 500 feet with two sixteen inch drains that day. They returned the grass they had taken up and seeded in places it needed to be seeded. We had a 11/4 inch rainfall and there was NO standing water but it had been dry and that was not a fair test. Last night, 8/6/2013, we had 2 inches of rain in about an hour. In the past, that would have resulted in standing water for days but, I am extremely happy to report that there was NO standing water last night and there is none today. I used to wake up worrying about water on my lawn leaking onto my neighbor's lawn but I can see that is now in the past thanks to the fast, professional work of Diversified Drainage. I would recommend this company and Mitch and Aaron for any job you might have. They fixed my problem, quickly, painlessly and best of all, on time and on budget. I would recommend them without reservation.

It went great and they were awesome, from start to finish. And even after the finish. That has been the single best experience we've had in 20 years of having work done on our home. I got Mitch on the phone immediately. We set up an appointment for them to stop by and look at the situation. They were very punctual. The plan they offered was one we knew we had to do, the regrading and putting in a large drain seemed like the only thing that would work. I was very impressed that they did not try to up sell me either. I asked about larger drains and waterproof systems for the basement and they said they didn't feel that was necessary and that with our problem the grading and drainage system would work. They sent me a written estimate within 24 hours. This was during the winter that wouldn't end this year, so it was several weeks before we could set up a time to have the work done. That part went very well also. They stayed in touch by email. Showed up when we had planned. Worked 2 full days from 7:30 to after 5:00. They were very nice also and even added on a few extras for my husband (buried 2 of our downspouts under the ground to drain into the yard away from our sidewalk). The sod looks great now and you can't even tell that our entire side yard and a quarter of our front yard was torn up. And best yet, was the fact that we did not turn our sprinkler system on until much later because of the weather (2 months after the work was completed). When we had problems in that area they came back immediately and fixed it!!

Diversified Drainage was great to work with and worked with one of our neighbors that was hesitant about having this done and got them to agree to the service. Diversified Drainage work with our local government to get this approved via permit process where our local government does not usually approve of these requests. Having Diversified experience, knowledge and professionalism greatly helped with getting the city approval. Completed the job in one full day and after the work was complete you could hardly tell where they had been. Would highly recommend Diversified.

Beyond my expectations. I was just hoping to get an estimate and Mitch provided a much needed temporary fix. We are going to have Diversified Drainage and the landscaping company that referred us to Diversified see what they can do for a permanent solution.

I had Diversifed Drainage come out to my house and look at a drainage issue I was having under my deck. I was looking at getting french drains installed. They were punctual on the first visit to take a look and give recommendations. They made recommendations for french drains and to dig around each footing and wrap foam around it. I told them to get me a quote for just the french drains. I will admit that my yard makes for a unique situation in that it is difficult for equipment larger than 42 inches wide to get to the back yard. I asked Mitch to send me a quote via email. I awaited a week without receiving it and then called and left a message with a secretary (some person who answered the phone) to relay the message to Mitch to get my quote sent to me. No quote was received so I called back again and spoke to Mitch. He said he would get the quote out to me for the french drains but I never did receive it or a phone call back. My review is strictly based on customer service. I see that other people have had good results on Angie' s list and that is why I contacted them.

I was not here when the work was done but my wife was, and so far, it appears that everything is satisfactory. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

He was recommended by another contractor to me. He was pretty good about getting back to us. We will use him in the spring. He was really good about calling back. He missed an appointment, but he called right away and apologized. He set up another one. He called a couple of times to see what we were looking for exactly to put the right bid together.
