I highly recommend 4 Seasons Tree Care. While based in Pierz, MN, most of their work is done in Blaine and the surrounding suburbs. Scott, Justin and team were very accommodating, arrived when they said they would, did a great job and cleaned up nicely. They have the equipment and know-how to tackle any tree job. In our case, it was the trimming of 14 large trees in our HOA. Scott can be reached at 612-490-6162.
Description of Work: They trimmed 14 large River Birch and Maple trees growing lakeside close to the homes in our HOA located in The Lakes of Radisson in Blaine. All branches were moved to the street where they were shredded. Cleanup was fantastic, and yards were left in nice condition. Did it all in one day.

After contacting 4 Seasons and leaving a message, I was promptly contacted by Scott and an hour later he was out giving us a quote. It was much less expensive than my 2 previous quotes and they could do the job the very next week, the other companies were months out. The next week they came out and did a great job, no damage to my house even though the tree was over 80 feet tall and less than 8 feet from my house. We mentioned that the neighbors home school and would like to watch them work and Scott said that would be absolutely fine. It was awesome seeing that massive tree come down.

We agreed on a week that it would come down however rain changed it so I was flexible and they were too. Scott showed up one morning and said they could do it that afternoon since they have other jobs in the area. That worked for me as i knew weather plays a factor of when they can do it. I guess a phone call would have been better but I was still good with it. From tree removal to stump grinding and filling in the hole. It all went very well and i would certainly recommend or hire them again. I only gave them a B in punctuality just because we never had anything agreed upon for a specific day but rather a week.
Description of Work: I needed an ash tree taken down and received 4 bids to do it. They were not the cheapest however I felt the most comfortable with them so I went that route and they did a great job.

We agreed to two days of work but due to their random work times spread out over a couple of weeks it is difficult to determine if that is what we received. I suspect it was less than that. At no less than three times did I mention while they were on property and in the trees that they were not opening up the trees enough to end up with "filtered light" as they had guaranteed they could achieve. They made the trees look like lollipops and made almost no internal cuts so I am not sure how they felt they could achieve the desired effect. I invited them back on property once leaves were on to show their failure but they never showed. The following spring I was offering them the opportunity to deliver on what I had already paid for. Instead of taking responsibility they claimed they were unaware that I wanted more light. Therefore I was offered a "good deal" to fix it. That good deal was the highest of 5 bids that received.
Description of Work: Removal and trimming of several trees to allow for more light for our vegetable garden.

My 27 year old locust tree in front yard had developed a split down the middle. With strong winds it was getting worse almost daily. Scott came on August 3 and shared the pros/cons of putting a cable on the trunk. He also suggested there was more weight on the "house side" which would be a problem, because it was very close to the house. I decided on removal. With each windy day (and forecast of storms) I was increasingly concerned about the tree falling on my house. Scott was able to work me in 3 days later. A crew of 7 men came at 7:15 am on August 6, with a bucket truck and chippers. They took out the stump, cleaned up the mess, and did a wonderful job. I would highly recommend them to anyone, for tree removal or trimming.

This honestly could not have gone smoother. I was referred to this company by another one I found off of Angie's List. The first company I called isn't licensed in Roseville, so they gave 4 Seasons my number (who are, obviously, licensed in Roseville). 4 Seasons were wiling to honor the Angie's List coupon offered by the first company, so their price was the lowest of the 3 bids I received. The crew was slightly early, which worked for me. In a few hours, they removed my dying birch tree, ground the stump, and filled the hole in. They carefully and thoroughly removed all debris - you would have never known they were there! It was very easy - thank you!
Description of Work: Removed an approximately 50-60' river birch. Ground stump. Removed all branches and debris. Cost above reflects taxes and fees.

One third of our large, beautiful tree broke at the base in a storm the night before. (Thursday) North Star (also A rated) referred me to 4-Seasons and I called 4-Seasons on a Friday afternoon. Third bid. Companies were busy due to a series of storms. Scott called back, set a meeting time and came out to look on Monday evening. He explained the process, gave a competitive bid, and had his crew here Wednesday morning. They cleaned up the fallen third of the tree;did clean up trimming of struck and somewhat flattened lilacs; removed the willow; and the cutter saved the section of the tree with the wood duck's nest and nine about to hatch eggs without being asked to do so. Clean up was great. All crew members were agreeable, respectful, hardworking and efficient. The neighbors asked how I found this company and thought the work better than any work they had done on their yard. BTW: Ducklings hatched throughout Thursday and left the changed nest sometime Thursday night.
Description of Work: Removed a large willow (about 40') from limited access area (next to pond, quite close to new fence).

A very large cottonwood in our wooded, hillside backyard was pushing out the retaining wall below and next to it. We needed to replace the retaining wall, so the tree had to go, BUT the backyard has no street access, is accessible only up a flight of railroad tie stairs. So the tree had to come down piece by piece, then the pieces had to be cut small enough to be hand carried down the stairs to the chipper on the street. 4 Seasons had done work for us before, and we were happy about the work, so we used them again. Their estimate was close to one other estimate, well below another. This method of cutting meant lots of very heavy pieces of the tree needed to be lowered from the tree. Some of these came down quickly and made rather large dents in the rain-soaked topsoil. The pieces then needed to be brought down from above the retaining wall to the patio below the retaining wall / landscape boxes, and from the patio down the stairs. In the process of cutting down leafy branches and throwing pieces of the trunk onto the patio, several of our hostas in the landscape boxes got smashed. I wasn't happy, but could see no other way they could have handled the job. They are old hostas and will come back in in full next year, they'll just look rather sad this year. There was also a lot of sawdust, since the trunk needed to be cut into many pieces to be carried down the stairs. The crew cleaned up as well as they could. There were very few branches for us to clean up except those that had gotten stuck in the foliage. I figure the 1-3 inches of sawdust is good mulch for the remaining hostas...
Description of Work: Took down a very large cottonwood in a difficult location.

I was a bit nervous to go with a company that came to my door off the street, but I called references on this company and checked Angie's LIst. I couldn't have been happier with the service. They followed through with everything they said, and did a quality job. I even noticed one part of a tree that got missed in the trimming, and Scott had his team out to my house again immediately the next day. I am so happy I went with this company.

The crew of 4 men arrived on time, and completed the work in 3 hours. Since the tree was in the front yard, they used a bucket truck to access the top branches. A chipper was used to cut up the branches. Larger sections of the birch trunk were hauled away in a truck. They were adept with roping of falling branches, to keep them from hitting a neighbor's house. The stump was removed and backfilled with dirt. The crew provided great attention to detail, picking up and removing all branches (small and large) and doing a final sweep of twigs and wood chips from driveway and street. 4 Seasons Tree Care was the lowest of 3 bids received. I was quite impressed with their work, and I would definitely use them again. I would recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: I asked for a bid to remove a large birch tree in the front yard. In addition, they gave me a bid for thinning internal dead branches from a locust tree in the front yard. The bid of $850 was for work on both trees. This price includes the sales tax.

A neighbor used this company to remove two large trees that had fallen during an early August storm. I contacted 4 Seasons to clear out some limbs that had fallen in my back yard. They did that right away. I also contracted with them to trim a box elder tree in my backyard later in the month. Trimming the tree was a challenge as it was not accessible for any cherry picker devices. All trimming had to be done by climbing the tree, which he did. He did an excellent job trimming the tree and cleaning up.

Company was hired by neighbor to remove a large tree in a difficult-to-reach location. They requested permission to park their Hi Ranger in my driveway to get at the tree. I granted permission and they offered me a discount on trimming my trees in return. (I was planning on having them done anyway). Work was completed in a timely manner; good clean- up and very professional. I was pleased with the work.

I got several estimates, and 4 Seasons was the lowest. They were flexible with their dates and assured me they would not damage our property with their equipment. They provided references, which I checked, and they were all very favorable. They did a good job and took less than 5 hours. They offered to come back later if we had any complaints.

We have 4 trees in the Como Area of St. Paul that were in need of trimming. Had never been done in 20 years. I called on a Monday they call that same day to give an estimate and trimmed the trees on Thursday of the same week. two trees are very large, sugar Maple and one black Walnut. The owner talked with me during estimate about what needed to be trimed, asked if I was happy with his suggestion and stated he could save some limbs if we wanted but stated what would be the healthiest for the trees. The company is small But they carry Workman's Comp on their employees.(rare for small business). They could not get a Truck into yard so the owner climbed the tree using ladder and ropes. He does not use climbing spikes when trimming (only when taking trees down) as this would damage the trees. I was very pleased with the clean up.

A salesman from this company stopped by our house one day and said they were working in our area over the next week. We agreed to have them trim our trees, as we had been planning to have it done anyway. Their rates were a little lower than the other quote we had gotten previously. They arrived on time, and were very nice. They seem to have done a good job trimming my trees. They allowed me to set up a payment plan (no finance charges or any extra fees to do this) and that was very helpful.
