Did not bother. I'm new to the Twin Cities, and need someone to service my irrigation system that was installed prior to my purchasing my house. The comment from the owner that "I only service systems I installed" is closed-minded, and tells me this outfit is not trustworthy. If I were installing a new system, I would not use them.

Quote process was on time, Sean was very professional and on time. Install of system was fast. Things changed from quote that I was not advised of though and I felt I should have been advised. For example, I was quoted 8 zones, and 28 sprinkler heads. I got 5 zones and 19 sprinkler heads when all said and done. I bought my own smart sprinkler controller and a separate zone for an upper garden(which we did not do) was quoted. Sean said he would credit me for the controller, and the separate garden zone off the original quote, however, when the bill came the day following installation these items were still included with the balance due, of $3823. I called to dispute the charges and Sean apologized for the oversight on the billing, and corrected that right away. I mentioned the zones and head issue and Sean said that quoting was not highly precise. He said he included an inline sediment filter (not included with original quote) that offset the zones and head issue. I had a couple of problems after installation that NW responded and took care of right away. So from a service perspective they were very good. But I was not happy with quoting process or the final billing because I felt the inline filter did not offset the reduction in zones and sprinkler heads. So overall, I give the process in general 3 stars. 5 for service, and 1 for quoting and billing.

The leak repair was very involved and required a lot of digging. I thought this might take several hours to fix, but was completed in an hour or so.

We just moved in to our new house, and the association required a sprinkler system to be installed. Sean came out to give us a quote and was very personable and knowledgeable. He really understood what we wanted before we even said anything. Their Toro product is truly amazing and high quality. Even when two sprinkler heads were installed on our neighbors property (because the property line was not clear at all), Sean had a team come out and move them at no charge. We'll be using Northwest for all future sprinkler system needs.

Russ came out and was on time, professional, friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. He fixed the issues, taught me how to optimize my clock, explained all the components of the system, taught me about common pitfalls, and how to look at the lawn to recognize those pitfalls. Highly recommended. Will definitely call them in the future.

These people were amazing! Communication was great and they worked with me and my builder to ensure we had the correct hookups for the lake irrigation system before installation. System works great! We initially thought there was a slight problem with the system and he said he would have someone come out right away the next day. Luckily it worked itself out works great, but just shows their willingness to make any potential issues right if they arise! Would hire again! Will definitely use for maintenance on the system too.

I spoke to Mona. She was very helpful and did her best to find me an appointment time as quickly as possible. Schedules were tight on both ends, but eventually she found a time that would work for both of us. She said Dave would be at my home between 1pm and 2pm on Wednesday. I reconfirmed multiple times that he would arrive by 2pm latest because I had to be out the door by 5pm. Yes, she confirmed, he will arrive within a one hour window between 1pm and 2pm. She even put it in the notes for Dave. Wednesday 1pm, I start preparing for Dave’s arrival. 1:30, not here yet, no problem, keep waiting. 1:45, not here yet. What are the odds that he won’t show up till the end of the one hour window? 2pm, still not here. 2:10, still not here. I call the office, no answer. That’s odd. 2:20 still not here, I call again, still no answer. 2:30 still not here, I call again, still no answer. Three times in a row no answer, how is that possible? 2:35 still not here, I call again, Mona finally answers and says he should be there momentarily. “Momentarily? How do you know that?” I ask. She says she will call him and tell him to show up right now. OK. Magical. I get it. Now I know why there was no answer. 5 minutes later Dave shows up. This guy Dave clearly did not want my business. He was smug and flippant about being late. First he didn’t care, and then he actually tried to argue that he was early because there was a one hour window on top of the one hour window. The worst part was when he started blaming Mona, the “girl at the office”. He said, “She doesn’t know what she’s talking about. She shouldn’t have promised you a time. How does she know what I’m doing or what time I’ll be done?” After a few more comments blaming and denigrating his co-worker, I told Dave he was free to leave. I won’t give my business to a company whose employees treat each other like that. I called Haider Sprinkler Service. They came out promptly and did a great job.

We worked with Sean Walsh. No pressure he worked with us on the price included free rain detector and winter blowout. He had a good idea about how to water the veggie garden. I have a in ground pool in my back yard their equipment didn't fit through the garage doors they saved my tree and took down part of the fence to get back there. They are very efficient team and cleaned up everything. We are very happy with everything.

I worked with Sean for several years. He installed the sprinkler system at my home and serviced it for a dozen years or so. He was always prompt, thorough, and very pleasant to work with. When I sold the house I was confident that the new owner would have a system that was in excellent working order, even though it was an older system. Sean was fantastic, and I would recommend him to others withou hesitation! Price for services may have been higher than others, but having Sean do the work made the cost worth it.

Like others have said, NW is not the least expensive quote you will get, but they have installed a solid system at our house that has been trouble free with the exception of a couple of heads getting some sand in them (which NW came out and fixed free of charge). I recommended them to our neighbors and 7 others bought systems from them and I look like the neighborhood hero because they are all enjoying trouble free system and great service from NW. Oh and the work they had to do because we put in a deck. Our contractor all of a sudden came out while we were at work and started framing the deck even though we thought we had 4 days before they would start. I called NW and Mona said she would do her best to get a couple of guys out that night. Sure enough, 8:30 at night these two exhausted guys came out (because they worked all day) and told me, "no problem, too much work is a good thing" and worked until dark and got the job done. Totally impressed with the quality of the work and the well organized work they do. Unlike others in the neighborhood that used another company...NW did not cause a pile of damage to our yard on the install, and they CLEANED UP after themselves! People were envious just from the clean yard after they finished.

Last fall i contacted 3 irrigation companies for bids on a system. They weren't the cheapest, but they were fair and in the middle of the road. A couple of reasons i chose them. 1 - they did NOT pressure me. One of the bids i got the guy was totally high pressure sales, so i really appreciated the in depth and knowledgeable bid and that they left me to make my decision. 2 - Sean was very patient in answering all my questions, understood that the amount of money being spent and the decision to spend it, and made me feel that their customer service was going to be there. When they came to install the system, the team in place was excellent. all very friendly and professional. They were in and out in less than a day and were patient with me in making my decisions about where to place the sprinkler heads. And left me knowing how to turn on/off and change selections on the system box. So back to the customer service part - has been excellent! This spring i called to ask how to turn the system back on. i dug up one of the heads when landscaping, had an small issue with a couple of the heads not turning off. Sean always gets back to me quickly and resolves the issues fast. i recommend these guys to one of my co-workers and yesterday he said he contacted them and thanked me for recommending them. said he found them helpful and thought their knowledge was right one and would use them in the future. it made me feel good to hear that and reminded me to write this review!

Sean Walsh and his team arrived right on time at 8:30 am and worked throughout the day to complete the job. They were very efficient and cleaned up behind themselves thoroughly. Then they explained the system operation to me as they were testing it. Their price was very good and they use high quality materials including Toro spray heads and controller. The system works great and I love listening to the sweet sound of silent and effortless watering. Then, a couple weeks later, I needed a little help setting up a special program and they sent one of the guys out to show me what to do. They are very professional and courteous. Thanks, Sean!

They cater to clients without compromising their work

The Northwest Landscape team worked over two days to install a new Toro irrigation system. The team was polite and hard working. After installing they came back to make adjustments. The system worked well throughout the season after installation. Sean Walsh was excellent to work with.

Got a bid from Sean Walsh, The bid was for 8 watering zones and a total of 42 rotors & sprays. One reason I chose to use this Company, was that they were offering more zones and more sprays and rotors than the other bids I had gotten. On the day of the installation Sean and the crew showed up on time, he spent about 30 minutes setting out flags to indicate where the sprays and rotors were to go, thanked me for my business and left. The crew was friendly and worked hard, adjusted the sprays, showed my how to operate. Since there was no clear defined property lines, one of my concerns is that the irrigation system was installed on my property, Sean assured me saying that they used a County Website to insure placement on my property, however on the day of installation he did not appear to know exactly where the property line was and now I'm not 100% sure all the equiptment is on my property. Also the bid called for 1" copper water line to run from the meter to the outside, this is not what was done. They cut out a 4' section of existing 3/4" copper line leaving a 3/4", 1", 3/4" supply line to the outside. After the installation was complete I noticed that they had installed 6 zones, not 8 as the bid had called for, Also there were only 34 sprays not 42. I called Sean and he said 5 of the sprays they used were more expensive than was used in the bid. He agreed to discount the bill to reflect only 6 zones installed, not 8 as was bid. When I got the updated bill only $100.00 had been discounted. This is the first time I used an highly rated Angies list company and was disappointed with the service. I felt any changes to the original bid should have been discussed with me and that Sean should have stopped back after installation to insure all had been done as agreed to. The system itself seems to be a quality system.

I was told that the repair after a lot of thought would be $250 on the high side. They inspected the lines & dug to locate pipes in a few spots & determined they could fix it & "we wouldn't even know they were there". I scheduled an appt. for repair, but just a couple of days after their estimate they sent me a bill. I called Mona to question & she told me to ignore after she checked the file. They returned a week later & laid the pipe & left. It was evident after their repair that they were here, the yard looked terrible. I called Mona & asked why & she said it takes a while. I said okay, but then noticed that the new pipe began to leak between the two heads, profusely. I called Mona again to report & she said to shut off the water supply on the outside of the house to the irrigation system, so I did. Eric had a very poor attitude upon returning to repair & we told him that not only is it leaking, but the yard was torn-up & not like he said it would be left. He also couldn't figure out why when he turned the system on that there was no water, it was very clear that I turned the water off to the system as instructed. He repaired the leak & drove off only to return a few minutes later, with the same poor attitude to ask me if it wasn't leaking further toward the head as he said my husband reported. I said I didn't think it was leaking at the head. I thought later, why wouldn't he have just checked the two heads & the entire new line for leaks? A few days later I received a bill for the repair. I called Mona & again she checked the file & said to ignore the bill. They sent two extra bills that they shouldn't have & Eric always said to call Mona to question & Mona would say that Eric should have noted the work order so an invoice wouldn't be generated. I sense that they do this on a regular basis. My yard still looks like they've been here. Lastly, I don't believe a company's personnel should comment negatively on competitors, as Eric did.

Northwest Landscape has been kind of a mixed bag for me. I'm actually still waiting for project completion! Here is the good and the bad of it: The good: Sean was the guy who priced out my project and appeared very helpful, knowledgeable and professional. After not hearing from them for a few weeks I called to see what the holdup was. Sean advised that the unusual weather this year put them behind schedule, however they were able to get to me the following week after I called. Unfortunately, the electric hookup on the outside of my unit was inoperable and wasn't discovered until they went to plug the system into it. I contracted an electrician to come fix it the next day - which added some additional cost for this project, and Northwest was able to complete the outside work the day or so. The guys who did the actual install were a very hard-working and knowledgeable group - particularly the foreman of the group who ensured that things were done correctly. I was advised in advance that they might have to cut into the interior wall to access the plumbing if the outside water access didn't allow sufficient room to attach the larger valve necessary for the system. This turned out to be the case, and they cut a hole in my interior wall behind the outside valve assembly to allow them to hook up the new outside component. The bad: I do believe that they are running behind because of the weather, but I've been waiting pretty much through most of June to get the hole fixed in my wall and the shutoff valve replaced. The shutoff valve was replaced the end of June, but I continue to wait for the wall repair. Regardless of weather and busy schedules, it seems to me that this company needs to be more responsive to customers - particularly in completing projects that are unfinished. Over 2-months for this project completion seems excessive to me. I marked quality down to a "B" because I've already noticed that one of the sprinkler heads did not retract completely after it had run during the early morning hours. I manually restarted the zone and turned it back off and the head retracted as it should. I'm not sure if this is going to be a common occurrence, but it is a source of concern with the system being so new. I've had such trouble getting this project completed, that I'm not sure that having them address the sprinkler head thing is worth the hassle, let alone using them for future business - I check-marked that I would, but there was no "undecided" check box. It's disappointing because there seems to be some quality people here that get overshadowed by their customer response and follow through. As president of my townhome association, I'm not sure I could recommend this company to my other homeowners. It's July 11 and I'm still waiting for the hole in my wall to be covered up! Update July-2014: I met again with Sean last fall when he contacted me to have him come back to winterize my irrigation system. He explained that the sprinkler heads are self-cleaning and should drop down when next activated - which it did. The system worked well last year without further issues and started up flawlessly this year - even with our snow plows running over areas where the sprinkler heads are recessed. Other homeowners in our association have had problems with improperly installed systems sticking out of the ground and being damaged by the plows. I'm pleased with the install and the continuing service - and will not let the minor issue regarding the drywall work reflect on the success of the primary project or my decision to use this contractor in the future.

This company responded quickly to my call. The work was done professionally and fast. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

We are so pleased with Sean and the Northwest team. They came highly recommended from a neighbor and also from other members of Angie's List. Sean is prompt, professional and will do whatever it takes to do a great job for his clients. He takes the time to walk through and help explain the entire system and how it works. Above all, he is honest. The installation team was very courteous and worked efficiently.

My brother had a transplant last summer and when I was gonna have Sean out, I had to cancel that appointment and I told him that my brother ended up in the hospital and I had to focused on that. He basically left me alone for two weeks. He didn't bother me and he didn't call me. And after about two weeks, he called me and first thing he said, how's your brother? He's very friendly. He's more concerned about making sure that I'm treated right that he does the right thing for me. He's very particular on the time he's come out here. There's been a couple of heads that he noticed and he didn't like what they were doing so he replaced them right away. He's very good.

The service was great as usual. This is the second time I have used Northwest Landscape to service my sprinkler system. The technician is very knowledgeable, works hard, and works until the job is done regardless of time. Their pricing is very competitive and work to respond as fast as possible to service request.
