Minnesota Exteriors was founded in 1947 by the father of Marty Bennis. Marty & Zenalou Bennis grew the company throughout the next several decades until the they turned the business over to their four sons – Greg, Jeff, Dan & Tom. The four brothers continue the family tradition, making Minnesota Exteriors a third-generation, family-owned company. We’ve built & maintained our quality reputation for more than 60 years. With our long-term performance record, you can be sure we will be there when you need us. Since its beginning, our company has experienced steady growth & expansion. In the early days, we used a semi-trailer for a warehouse; today, it takes a 100,000 square-foot warehouse & showroom in Osseo, MN to service all our customers. With over 100 well-trained employees, we pride ourselves on getting the job done correctly, on time, & at affordable prices. We are members of the Builders Association of the Twin Cities, National Association of the Remodeling Industry, Builders Club, & the Minnesota Multi-Housing Association. Description of Work: Have been trying to get job finished since August when we contracted. Do not return phone calls, no communication, don't seem to care if work is done or not. When they finally do something, it's done well but getting work done is not easy.

Description of Work: Fast. Very courteous. Responsive to our concerns. There were some problems with the construction of the windows ( not Minnesota Exterior's fault) and they have been back twice to fix these to our satisfaction.

Description of Work: Replaced four windows that were not energy efficient. | |Bid and plan was seamless and contained the requested window brand and line. | |Company uses sub-contractors, which was fine for the repair work and project completion, but initial installation crew installed main front window incompletely, and during the attempt removed sheetrock, leaving large gap, attempted to be covered by wood trim unsuccessfully. Initial crew also damaged exterior siding in several areas around trim, and installed j channel that did not match exterior. | |Lead installer Tim also broke the installation brackets for three of four windows and stated he was unable to cut interior trim at 45 degree angles (so installed trim around one window at 90 degrees). When shown other windows with planed trim at 45 degree angles, confessed that he needed more trim to complete job. | |In the end, it took several months of discussions and work with painter/general subcontractor Mike to have all work completed to the satisfaction expected on the initial installation day. Because of the initial installer cutting the Sheetrock, we had to repaint that room after repair work was completed because the contract stated they were not responsible for painting. | |The initial installer, Tim Kizer, made some unprofessional comments regarding homosexuality which I found to be offensive. We asked the company to not send him to perform the repair work but they did anyways. After arguing with him about the quality of his work he started down the same road toward the same offensive comment. When I told him to get out of my house it might have finally dawned on him that we are a gay couple. | | |

Minnesota Exteriors acknowledges that there were difficulties encountered during this installation, and further, that those difficulties were not readily resolved. Working directly with [member name removed] and her partner, who made some of the carpentry repairs, the issues were eventually handled to her satisfaction. Regarding the inappropriate comments, we sincerely apologize. Minnesota Exteriors' Division Manager, Bob Reiner, attempted to apologize via a telephone conversation, but had to leave a voicemail message of apology. He has not received a return call, nor do we expect one. The comments made by this installer are unacceptable. Minnesota Exteriors serves customers of all races, creeds, and sexual orientation; discrimination of any kind is strenuously opposed. Mr. Reiner investigated this complaint personally and found that the individual in this situation did make a remark, which he intended as humorous, but which was offensive and insensitive. Intent aside, there is no place for this kind of remark, and the matter has been dealt with internally.

Description of Work: these people weren't up front with usThey had us sign the contract snand then decided that we could not make them any money from the insurance because of the job being too small. They came when my adjuster was here and then dumped us broke the contract verbally with usan d thought that was just fine.I talked to an attorney about this he said he has heard a lot of things about this company and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Poor communication.
Description of Work: Had a garage wrap done after doing work on it from another company. Nobody called for a long time to scheadule appointment after contract signed. I finally did call but recieved no date/time for work. I came home with wrap completed but wrap was poorly installed and wrong design. Company stated the didn't bring correct machine and thought mixing designs feslt OK. Company reinstalled correct design on wrap..

At the time that this homeowner signed their contract our service department was going through some personnel changes. Unfortunatley that caused delays in scheduling and resulted in poor communication. We agree that this project was not given the attention that it deserved and apologize for any inconvenience that may have caused. We hope that the homeowner is happy with the finished product after it was reinstalled to the correct specifications. We are pleased to say that the issues in our service department have been corrected and we are constantly striving to give our customers the best service possible. THIS FIRM IS THE REASON I JOINED ANGIES LIST - UNFORTUNATELY TOO LATE TO SEE THE GRADES FROM OTHER MEMBERS. THE EXPERIENCED WAS PATHETIC. IT ISN'T AS THOUGH I GOT 'THE' BAD CREW. THREE DIFFERENT CREWS DID DIFFERENT PIECES OF THE WORK AND THERE WERE PROBLEMS EACH STEP OF THE WAY AND MISCOMMUNICATION WITH THEIR OFFICE. THE CREWS DON'T APPEAR TO COMMUNICATE WITH EACH OTHER OR THE OFFICE AND THEN BLAME EACH OTHER FOR PROBLEMS. THEY DID MAKE TRIPS BACK TO FIX PROBLEMS BUT ONLY PARTIALLY SUCCEEDED IN SOME AND CAUSED OTHER PROBLEMS ELSEWHERE. I AM NOT INTERESTED IN THEM TAKING ANOTHER WHACK AT FIXING THE REMAINING PROBLEMS. ON TOP OF ALL THE WELL DOCUMENTED PROBLEMS AND IRRITATIONS THEIR COLLECTIONS DEPARTMENT IS EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE.
