Great experience. We contacted Paul and he responded immediately, gave an estimate the next day and had the deck and pergola built just a couple days after that... so entire project was bid and finished within a week. Paul has a positive attitude, has great ideas and we enjoyed working with him so much we're having him bid on an interior remodeling project.

I contacted this company for an estimate to replace my porch. I quickly received a phone call back. He came and met at my residence to assess what was needed and to see exactly what I wanted to do. Within a few days he had drawn up plans and had an estimate for the replacement & expansion of my porch which I needed to present to my association. After approval from my association, I contacted this company and he told me when he could start and when the project would be finished. He was punctual with starting the work, kept me informed of the progress and finished on time. He even offered to find siding replacement pieces and was able to find this siding for a low additional cost he had quoted. Overall, I was very pleased and satisfied with his work and I love my new expanded porch. I would definitely recommend this contractor.

We had several different bids for our deck work and Paul not only was reasonable, he also had great ideas. Paul also gave us a bid on installing 5 doors in our basement. Paul did such great work and was so reasonable we continued to find another 2 days of work. He built walls, put up trim and did some electric work. He was very professional, punchtual and his workmenship was excellent. We are now dreaming up more work for Paul and will be using him in the near future.

Frankly we could not imagine a better experience! Paul was the first of 5 contractors to give us a quote and his was by far the best priced. He was able to get us a detailed drawing with specs very quickly so we could get homeowners association approval for the construction. We next had to special order the sliding glass door which took 4 weeks to come in. Construction started less than 24 hours after we rcvd. association approval and the first 2 days, Paul and his crew worked thru rain that just poured down. The deck was fully completed on the third day. Once the door came in, Paul was quick to schedule a day for installation so the job would be completed before a holiday weekend. He brought his electrician that final day to complete the new outside light, inside switch, and outside outlet. Paul and his crew were prompt and professional and we would use them again in a heartbeat!

I searched Angie's list for a deck contractor in the northern Twin Cities suburbs. Paul's name stood out from the rest due to his many high ratings from previous customers. We were looking for a low or no maintenance deck railing. After researching several options, he came up with an aluminum railing and copper-capped cedar post solution. The materials were delivered one day; he and a helper worked the next two days until completion. He's a true craftsman; his attention to detail was very much appreciated. We love our new deck railings!

Everything went well. Paul was very professional, his price was fair and his craftsmanship excellent. We received many compliments on our deck from people who either do similar work or have hired someone do it in the past. Paul worked fast but was attentive to detail. We were very pleased with the results.

They were very prompt when we contacted them for an estimate. They came by the house, took measurements, showed examples and made suggestions. The estimate came within a day of the visit. After we accepted the bid they were able to schedule us a few days later. They arrived when they said they would and worked through light rain on both days. The work was completed in 1.5 days.

Our experience with Paul couldn't have been better. Paul was prompt and did a terrific job. He called often to update us on the status of the work and was extremely helpful to us in working with our insurance company to meet their requirements. The workmanship is superb and I would definitely hire Paul again.

We designed our own deck plan, and Paul was able to work with the materials and design to our satisfaction. Overall, we were very satisfied with the job, however there were delays beyond Paul's control with acquiring the materials with his building supplier, and it took six weeks to complete the deck. What we were most impressed with was Paul's willingness to be flexible with the design process, his responsiveness to our concerns, and high quality of workmanship. For example, we had some initial concern with the appearance of the deck skirting, but Paul was able to angle the exposed beams and cover them with the AZEK material for a more finished look. Also, since the AZEK material is more difficult to work with than wood, there was some initial unevenness with the deck boards, but Paul was able to go underneath the deck and level the boards. We also had some issues with the handrails being too loose, and Paul was able to place hidden nails underneath for a much more secure railing. This level of attention to our concerns and quality of craftsmanship speaks highly of the professionalism of the company. The only concern we had was a miscommunication about the final cost of the project due to adjustments along the way, and a more detailed and itemized list of cost changes could have been communicated to us to avoid any misunderstanding. However, we were able to discuss this with Paul and he agreed to lower the cost of the final project by a few hundred dollars, though the final project cost was $600 more than anticipated. Overall, we are delighted with the deck and would definitely recommend Paul for future deck projects.

This was the best experience I've ever had with a contractor. The work had to be done within five weeks. It ended up being done in two weeks. They did a great job. He was $5,000 cheaper than anybody else and did a first-class job. He was a pleasure to have around, and cleaned up beautifully afterwards. I would unequivocally recommend him to anyone around.

We discovered while he was building the deck that he shorted us by a foot on each side. Once he was finished building the deck, we measured it and discovered that it was two feet shorter on each side than it should have been. When we realized this we immediately asked him why the deck was smaller than we had anticipated, and he claimed that he did not realize it was so much smaller. The quality of the deck was good, but we did not appreciate his attempt to shortchange us. He did refund $1000, but that did not fully make up for his lack of honesty. I would not recommend using him again.

Paul was very easy to work with. He came to our home twice during the bidding process because only my husband was home for the first meeting. His bid was the lowest we received. We had a general idea of what we wanted but Paul came up with the design, which we tweaked along the way. Some of the composite parts were special order and Paul was there to complete the work as the materials were delivered. Once completed, the city inspector made one requirement that Paul complied with immediately. The deck looks great. We ve had several comments from neighbors and have recommended Paul to a relative for a similar project.

Paul is extremely talented and did a magnificent job on our deck. Paul came to our house and gave us an estimate on the entire project and drew us a sketch of what he had in mind. He listened to our needs and incorporated our ideas into the project. His bid was the competitive with others I'd received. Paul and his team completely demoed my old deck and had the new deck built in 10 days, even with snow mixed in! Paul is extremely professional and is very open and honest. He encountered some unexpected work to replace some wood that had rotted where our old deck had been against our house. He very quickly repaired that section and kept us informed of the additional cost. Paul's workmanship and quality are outstanding and the small details that Paul incorporated into our deck are phenomenal and really create a terrific finished product. Paul prides himself on his professionalism and it really shows. You will NOT have a better experience with a contractor than with Paul.

Paul was going out of town when we called but came over and listened to our needs. He was friendly and knowledgeable, adding some of his own suggestions. He always started his day on time and put in a full day's work. Paul worked quickly but diligently. He paid attention to detail. We are extremely pleased with the finished deck and doors. We wanted to hire someone who was honest, skillful with a good work ethic. I am thankful that we chose Paul Klingbeil Construction.

It went great. I was collecting quotes on line from several contractors, but Paul was very personable and communicated well. I had a quote that was a bit lower than his, but because of his communication style, I gave him the option to price match it, and he did. He showed up to inspect the area, came up with some good questions and suggestions, told me exactly what and when they were going to be doing their construction, and then he simply executed the project. My deck was up within 4 days of breaking ground and having the area inspected. It looked great and although there were a few nits to pick (being a picky homeowner) I brought them up to him, and he happily came out and made sure everything was done to my satisfaction. Excellent experience all around.

Paul was very professional. He returned my call promptly and came out to give an estimate a few days later. He asked questions to find out what we needed. He said the project would take a week, which seemed impressively quick. He was very easy to talk with. The estimate was cost per foot. We wound up hiring a different contractor that was recommended by a friend and is not (yet) on Angie's List. The builder we hired was able to give a lower bid. If things do not work out with our hire, I would definitely call Paul.
