Hunerberg Construction went above and beyond with our stucco repairs. Their focused investigation saved us substantial dollars on the initial remediation last year. We had an unrelated incident, and Hunderberg came through with fast response, great customer service, and a lasting solution. Lastly, when there was a question on a separate stucco issue, Hunerberg came on-site immediately and provided an answer. Great workers with great management and great customer service makes for a GREAT company and experience.

Hunerberg Construction Company did a great job of working with our goals in mind. They offered good design ideas and had computer renderings of the house with the new siding before construction began. When we strayed off our initial goal and started adding items that weren't part of the initial intent, they reminded us that those costs would not help us achieve our goal. It's easy to start adding things that won't get a payback. The crews did quality work from the demo to the repairs to the siding installation to the painting. Everyone was courteous and professional. The work took a couple of months. The site was kept clean. They provided good documentation at the end of the project. There were no hidden costs or discrepancies of any kind. We would hire Hunerberg again if a similar situation came up.

Hunerberg was not the lowest bidder, but the project manager Jeff Ophoven, was knowledgable in water mitigation work and was easy to communicate with. The extent of the damage was unknown, so exploratory stucco removal was done to expose the damage. The stucco was removed, the damaged sheathing was removed and any damaged insulation was replaced. The damage had occurred in years prior, but some framing needed replacement. The areas were sealed with a fungicide, sheathing replaced, flashings installed where needed, and the walls made ready for stucco. The stucco was replaced and then a stucco paint applied to match the existing house color. At first the match was not very good, and when we described the problem, Jeff got the stucco and paint contractors to review it and figure out how to fix it. It turned out to be a difference in stucco texture, and to their credit, the stucco was re-finished, the paint re-applied to wall corners and from ground to eaves. This is the measure of a good company-- the job is not done until the customer is satisfied. Throughout the project, which extended over two months, Jeff was communicating with me on the status of what they were finding and what was being done to fix the problem areas. He took photos to document it and updated me via phone and email. This is another positive aspect of working with this company. I have no desire for more stucco repair, but I would have Hunerberg manage the work if it comes up again. I was impressed enough with them that I am having them do other remodeling projects for me.

The carpentry work was good, we just had to stay on top of them for the entire job. They did clean up their mess good when they were done with the project.

They were a pain to deal with when it came to their communication. They did good work but we had to stay on top of them the whole time. They did fix any problems we had very quickly though.

They have been pretty poor in communicating with us. The sub contractors that they hired are kind of hit or miss. We have had to stay on top of them the entire project. They are incredibly responsive though.

They helped us choose the right windows to install. They were very poor at communicating though. They do very good work and the finished product looks very good.

The biggest challenge we have is the communication with them. They said they provided the design service, but their design team was not that good. When we do find problems though they are very responsive. We have had to stay right on top of them during this entire project for the most part though.
