Description of Work: Removed a huge 60 year old silver maple tree from our back yard with limited access and trimmed a large ash tree.

Description of Work: A tree fell unto 3 different properties. J&S contacted each of the property owners and came back the next day to cut up the tree and remove. They took into consideration the needs and expectations of each property owner. I "HIGHLY RECOMMEND" to anyone needing Tree trimming/removal!!!

Description of Work: Everything went very smoothly. Had fun watching them take down a four prong tree and skillfully ensure that it did not hit the house or fence. Very professional!

Description of Work: Removal from my back yard of a large elm tree that was diseased. I requested no stump grinding because of a nearby fence.

Description of Work: Called J&S for quote and advice on removing an old Ash tree in my backyard, grind the stump out, haul away and clean up. Jim showed up the next day to survey our yard and take a look at the condition of the tree. Just as I thought...because the tree had damage from the past winter and had bug infestation he advised it could not be saved. Jim left a prompt phone message with a quote and let me know that because of the all of the rain this spring he was about a week out from getting the job done. The quote from J&S was at least 50% cheaper others that we talked to for the same work.

Description of Work: We found them through another website by pure accident, clicking a link to get an on-line estimate and we received a phone call instead from them nearly minutes later. It was a Thursday afternoon at like 4pm, they said they could try to get out tonight or early Friday to check out the property and give us an estimate. They didn't make it out Thursday, no real surprise there, but they did make it there on Friday. They left a business card at our home, I called at nearly 6pm on Friday night and got an answer!? The lady I spoke with said Jim wanted to speak with me about the job to give me my options and show how it affects the price etc. Over the weekend, he left a few messages on the number I gave them (my work number). In one message he left the prices and offered to mail them to us. The prices were very competitive, we had already received another quote from another Angie's List company, and he beat their prices by a good amount.

Description of Work: The company was hired to work on 4 trees; work on 3 of them was fine. The 4th was bad. Mr. Swenson was asked to remove 3 small branches from a large mature oak. My explanation of what was to be done was clear and simple. We stood 30 ft. From the tree at a point where it was easy to clearly distinguish the branches to be removed. I showed him the three 4-inch diameter branches and held my hands up showing the size. I said this 3-4 times. The whole discussion was about the 3 branches over the pool. There were no other branches near the ones we discussed and no others anywhere near the pool. Somehow Mr. Swenson got it into his head that I wanted half the tree cut off. I have no rational explanation for how he got from 3 small branches over the pool to half the tree. He never once said anything about removing half the tree so I had no chance to correct the problem before it was too late. There were no witnesses to the conversation. I came home from work to a horribly disfigured tree.

Description of Work: They had to remove the 2 sick trees that we have. They ground the stumps also.
