The salesman, Ryan, was delightful and helpful. I was considering different options to heat 480 sq/ft sunroom. The mini split was more than I was hoping to spend, but it was a good investment to get the heat and air conditioning combined, plus it is a very efficient unit. Installation was easy and completed by the team in just a few hours. I highly recommend Apollo and the mini split unit!

It was expensive. We saw them on Angie's list and went with them. They did a great job and they were here when they said they are going to be here. We have never compared their price, they were the only company that was open on Saturday.

I called Apollo as I had used them to clean my furnaces before and they had done a great job. They worked with me on a price quote on the phone based on info about the house. They told me they'd adjust the quote downward if necessary based on what they found when they got there, which they did. They cleaned the ducts and showed me with a camera before they did it as well as after. They were professional, efficient and really good guys. I highly recommend.

I had Apollo do a seasonal furnace check-up. Everything was working well but the technician said that the ignitor was close to the end of its life. This may or may not be true in hindsight. He said that normally they charge $220 to replace but had a special for $189. After I told him that last time I had an ignitor replaced the part was about $20. He said they are "much more sophisticated now". After doing some research I have found out that ignitors can be purchased for about $30 and have not changed at all on this furnace. I was mislead by Apollo and grossly overcharged. These regular checkups are a great opportunity for dishonest heating companies to sell you products and services that you do not need at highly inflated prices. I need to trust the businesses that supply these services. I place Apollo in the dishonest business category. I am very disappointed with them.

A decision was made to proceed with Apollo due to urgent need (furnace failure at start of heating season) and positive experience from original installation (15 years ago) and recent repair (July). A sales person provided an on-site estimate and prompt scheduling for installation. The cost seemed exorbinant but we chose premium systems. This did not create a hardship as we were fully funded and interested in solving the heating problem with a trusted resource. Despite this, I had an interest in greater detail due to the magnitude of the project. The estimate was vague so a request was made for a formal document prior to work. This document was marginally improved but included an error which required further follow up. A detailed proposal seemed beyond reach so the work was allowed to proceed without further inquiry. The work was completed without problem and Apollo followed with required formalities including operational check-out. I had requested an improvement over the earlier system involving linkage between ventilation system and furnace. The sales person acknowledged that this as an industry-wide problem and was unable to fulfill this request. So far the outcome is positive but hindsight, more time should have been spent assessing other options despite the heating season issue. Apollo is a well established supplier and has been responsive but should have been measured against peer suppliers.

Our central air conditioning unit died on the 4th of July when we had a heat index of 110 degrees. Apollo was the only company we could find that had technicians available. That is the only positive remark I have about the experience. The technician incorrectly identified the motor size on our unit. Based on that, we were told that the part had to be ordered. We were given an estimate of approximately $900. The customer service from that point on was completely unacceptable. We basically got the run around from the office staff. They promised to return calls and never did. They promised time frames for service that were subsequently wrong. When we had finally had enough, my husband called to let them know that we no longer needed their services and the office employee said, "okay, thanks." Seriously terrible service overall. Will never use them again.
Description of Work: The technician diagnosed that the motor on our outdoor unit needed to be replaced. He couldn't easily see what size of motor was present and decided incorrectly that it must be a smaller motor than the one he had in his vehicle. He did not disassemble the unit to find the right answer, but made an assumption based on the age of the unit.

I called on a tuesday and they couldn't come out until Friday, which given the weather was understandable but disappointing. They arrived in the window of time the provided me and got to work when they arrived, we were told we needed to replace two parts on our furnace. One they sold to us at a discount ,because he had a used one in his truck - I thought at the time, what a great deal... Only to find out later that the part that was replaced, was actually faulty as well. Once we were charged for the parts and service they could do that day, he said we would need to schedule another service call for the other part to be replaced... But that "honestly you should consider replacing your whole furnace because it is already 19 years old... and it will probably go any day". So in an effort to figure out if this was true, we called another heating and AC company, we did not tell them that someone else had been out, we just told them we had a problem. They told us that while our furnace was old, it appeared to be in great shape, that the part that Apollo's told us needed to be repaired still needed to be repaired but the disheartening thing they told us was that the transformer that we had just paid for was actually bad and it needed to be replaced again. This time with a NEW one... Short story - don't accept a discount for a "used" part...

The company is the same company that I have used for my HVAC services since the house was built. I have personally had good experience with them and good responses. The original price that was quoted was higher than I could get elsewhere. I mentioned that to them, so they were very flexible and reasonable in coming to a fair price.
Description of Work: I have used Apollo Heating & Ventilating. They cleaned all of the air supply ducts and return ducts. They removed, cleaned, and reinstalled all of the registers in the house. They cleaned the dryer duct system. They also used the rotovision and video inspection so I could see in each return and duct.

I was dissapointed. We had gone through a walk through and the expectations of the job. For example we requested a larger duct in the kitchen than other ones, but the larger one was installed in a master bedroom instead of the kitchen which got an average size one. The insulation wasn't distributed in the attic correctly after their work. Because of the poor work I went an entire winter with no insulation around a certain duct in my attic.

I have used Apollo for all my HVAC work in the past. I had Apollo come out to do a winter check on my furnace. They found that is was cracked and I contacted a sales person who came out and we agreed on a new furnace and installation date. I received credit for the cost of the first service visit and the salesman gave me credit for a coupon they had out in various areas even though I did not have the coupon or even know about it. The salesman was honest about everything and we were OK with going forth. The installers came and worked through and appeared very knowledgeable. They asked me about where I wanted the outlet and also the piping location in the basement. They were very clean and only left a couple of tiny debris pieces behind. The person who came a few weeks later to tune the furnace also was fine, but left some papers out of place on top of the filter enclosure. The installers noted the AC coil was not installed correctly and fixed it. It had been installed many years before by Apollo so it was wrong since then. I don't use AC much so I did not realize the rust on the floor was from the AC and not the water heater that was also rusting out a year or so ago. Most of the paperwork promised was sent, but I had to call about the permit and they had had a change in the office staff and it was missed. They did give me the info I wanted after I called and were very nice about it. So overall, I think the job was done right but there is no way to be sure when everything is in a big closed box and I have no way of knowing if all was set as it should. I have no major complaints, but with all the little things that were not perfect (not calling before they came as promised, not following up on all the paperwork like the permit), I can't give them an A. I would give them a B+ if I could or A- but that is not an option. I have used other providers off of Angie's List that were listed as A's and they did everything at a high level and I gave them A's. A is perfect for me, and this job was not "A" perfect, but I have no problem recommending Apollo. For most kinds of house repairs, etc, it depends on the skill and experience of the installers and faith on the part of the homeowners that all was done right, especially for installs like this where you can't see what was done. I do have heat so I am happy about that and I will keep using Apollo to come and inspect/repair my HVAC units.

I called Apollo Heating and A/C for duct cleaning. The company I used to use is no longer. I got a quote from Ryan and set up a date. I can't say enough about how well this all went. Ryan and Jake went above and beyond what was required. They helped me move things away from registers, like a very big teacher's desk. They found old puzzle pieces in the duct work and a post card from 1967. So, that tells me that the company I had been using in the past did not do a very good job. The price was right and i feel that i got a very good deal. They showed how much dirt was in the ducts and cleaned it all away. i feel very refreshed going into the heating season knowing that the duct work is clean. Give them a call!

The blower motor was installed with no apparent problems and Apollo provided a 1 year warranty. Six months later the motor failed. Apollo refused to honor the warranty. They stated the Warranty doesn't apply to them because the company I dealt with went bankrupt and now they are a new company. However, Apollo continues to advertise as being in business since 1980, which is very misleading to the consumer. Apollo not only refused to honor the warranty, I was even willing to pay them to replace the motor, but I was told they couldn't get to me for a couple weeks, not a practical option in November. Upon having another contractor work on the furnace, he found Apollo had incorrectly installed the motor and that was the reason the motor had failed. To make maters worse, the incorrect installation by Apollo caused further damage to the furnace and a total repair bill of more than $900. The final insult to injury came when I was reviewing my invoice from Apollo, I found a math error that resulted in them overcharging me $100.

We took all measures to fix this. No paper work could be found for warranty on this motor. We tried to find a optional motor to fix this, We told the customer we would have to order this and it would take two days to get not two weeks. We are family owned since 1980. After doing some checking we did not install this motor incorrect.

Did not list price of ignitor swtich or write down start-finish time. Service charge $200 includes first 1/2 hour, every 15 minutes afterwards is $31. Handed me bill for $298 then asked for a tip. Initially called Apollo around 5:50 pm, arrived 9:10 pm, left at 10:10 pm. Seems like swtich charge should taken l/2 hour, perhaps driving time was included. A month later, I had no heat, and they had to replace the ignition switch. This time they only charged me $40 since they had been out the month before.
Description of Work: Returned home at 6pm on 1-11-09, no heat. Apollo installed Lennox furnace 4-1/2 years ago. Ignitor switch failed - needed to be replaced, took an hour, start to finish. Outside temp. 6 degrees, house temp. 55 degrees.

I was initially satisfied with this company, the problems didn't start until we sold our home two years later. Their bid was accurate, they weren't the cheapest, but I felt I got an honest opinion from our salesperson, especially when he told me I didn't need a new flue lining (another company had told me I did) and that I wouldn't need a humidifier. Everything went according to plan, we were happy with the new system, but four days before closing on our home, we found out Apollo had not closed out the building permit they had pulled. I called them, and I was directed to our salesperson. He didn't seem too concerned, he said he had tried to contact me about setting up an appointment with the city inspector but had gotten no response from me. I never received any messages. So, we set up the appointment, and it didn't pass inspection. The inspector was glad we didn't have any basement bedrooms because the furnace wasn't venting properly - we needed a new flue liner(!). We closed on our house in two days, so I didn't have a choice - Apollo came out the next day and installed a new lining - I was livid - I was told I didn't need need one to begin with - and budgeting an extra $800 into our moving costs forced us to use a credit card. I wouldn't have minded paying for this if the problem came up during our installation, but it was scary to think we lived there for two years without knowing - I should've done my homework and double checked to make sure they had closed the permit. If we hadn't moved, we probably would still be living with a furnace not vented properly.

Excellent. We got three bids and Jennifer from Apollo was very responsive to us. She gave us a quote based on our needs, not on what she could up-sell. It was the most reasonable bid, but we chose them also because of her knowledge and her excellent customer service. The crew was on time and on task. Completed the job in half a day and cleaned up great. Apollo has handled all the post inspections and testing fabulously. They gave us a 2% discount for paying cash and handled the rebates from Xcel. Jennifer also had the humidifier put in as a bonus for us at no charge.

I submitted an inquiry with Apollo's website and I received a call within one business day from Jay, who scheduled a day and time to come to our house and provide an estimate. Jay arrived at our home on time, took a look at our current furnace and A/C unit, and then we sat down at our kitchen table to discuss the estimate. He provided us with a clear estimate with all costs clearly defined, and spent the time ensuring we understood the quotes completely and the included warranties. Jay was not pushy at all, and respected the preliminary nature of our estimate. We ended up going with a different company for the install of our new furnace and A/C unit only because of familiarity with the other company and a slightly cheaper quote. Note that I never asked Jay if he could meet the quote because of my past experiences with the company I ended up going with.
Description of Work: I contacted Apollo to receive an estimate for replacement of our fifteen year old furnace and A/C unit with more efficient Lennox units.
