I would hire this company again in a minute. From the owner to the staff, everyone was efficient and professional. When they were putting the driveway in, it was like watching a dance with all the machines, and the end result looks great!

There should be a zero star review for this company. We had the most horrible experience with them installing our driveway on our new build. Their machine broke down after laying a 1/3 of the asphalt in front of our 3 car garage. She waited two weeks to come back. When she did... instead of taking it out and laying the driveway in front of all 3 stalls, they decided to try and patch it by laying it in front of the double car stall. Due to the weeks difference it looked horrible. Their machine breaking shouldn't impact a new house having a new driveway that looked good. Most contractors would have made it right to ensure not losing the large contract with the builder. Our builder had her come out to fix it and she made it look even worse. Her comment was it was functional. It wasn't supposed to be functional it was not a repair on an old driveway. It was supposed to be a new driveway on a new build. She refused to fix it so our builder had it seal coated by another company. While we were dealing with all of this she laid a couple more driveways in the development. They all looked horrible and one wasn't even functional. I spoke with another builder that just started using her. After a couple driveways they are done with her. They had similar problems with the quality of her work. There hasn't even been a winter yet so she can't blame MN weather. This was due to her machine breaking down and her trying to patch a driveway next to it way too long afterwards.

Awful! I asked for 24-hour notice prior to removing driveway ... they gave me 20 minutes. When I told them I was out of town, they were irritated. They came out the next day for the removal and knocked five stones off the front of my house and left the garage doors open. During the installation, they broke the sidewalk in front of the house. The driveway had roller marks, footprints, fluid drizzled all over driveway. They came back to ease the roller marks and footprints and cracked the driveway. I have grass growing through the asphalt. Kris came out several times and determined the driveway was structurally sound and offered a free seal coating ... Terrible!

Initial prep work was not completed as promised, which delayed the laying of the driveway. When attempting to contact company, very slow in returning calls. When I inquired as to why requested work was not completed, I was informed that the information was not passed along to the workers. After the driveway was finally laid on 7-6-18, I again contacted the company because an area along the south edge of the driveway was sunken in. Again the contact person was slow in responding to my calls. Representatives finally showed up months later and I was told it would be taken care of. I came home to find out someone had come out and tried patching the area unsuccessfully. I again called and left a message that I was not happy about the patch. It was not a good job, was sloppy and did not take care of the problem completely. That was the last time I heard from anyone from Fairfax Asphalt. The problem still is not fixed and winter will be hear again.

I had a bit of a tight window to get the job done, because the city is replacing my road and wanted any driveway replacements complete before the final layer of road paving was put down. Kris responded quickly to my call and was finishing up an estimate in a nearby town. We made arrangements to meet at my house an hour later to look at my driveway and get an estimate. That went smoothly, and Kris noted the subsidence at the garage apron and some slight crowning between garage and street. She said they'd cap the footings if needed, grade down to remove the crown and let water flow to the street, add a bit more class 7, and make the driveway level with the front step and the garage floor. Her bid was also the only bid that included references to nearby jobs - I had to ask for those from other companies. Price was mid-range of the estimates I received. Fairfax was able to commit to timing that worked with the city road project, and I liked what I saw when I looked at other jobs they'd done. Overall response time and information conveyed in conversations during the bidding process was very good. I was told what I needed to do prior to tear-off, what could be done between tear-off and repaving, and how long to stay off the new driveway after it was paved. The crew showed up on time on tear-off day, removed the old asphalt, graded, put down and rolled the new class 7 underlayer. About 10-14 days later was paving day, and again the crew showed up on time and put down the new driveway. I saw Kris driving the roller and checking the slope with a long level. Very happy with the new driveway, and would certainly work with Fairfax again if we needed another one.

Very well. Had a complex driveway and trailer parking on side of home.zero clearance on side of house. Worked closely with us and answered al questions. Very courtios to neighbors. Spotless cleanup. Very competitive price per sq foot. Was the lowest bid of all we recieved.

Did not receive advanced notice of when the work would be performed due to the service being organized by a neighbor for a neighborhood rate. However, when the crew did show up, they did not bother to knock on the door and check that all vehicles were out of the garage. In the middle of the job, my son opened the garage door to leave for work and found that he could not get his car out of the garage, forcing him to walk and be late for his job. Every other I company I have used has come to the door as a professional courtesy. The work itself was also mediocre and definitely subpar with other companies used in the past. Will not be using this company again.

Very well done. I would definitely hire Fairfax Asphault again. Hard-working, professional crew and owner. Good equipment.

Excellent experience- this was not an easy driveway to fix. The existing driveway had many drainage issues and was in bad shape. They visited the site a few times, worked up a plan and had great attention to detail to solve the issue.
