I would HIGHLY recommend Steve for your concrete flooring needs! He completely transformed a porch by removing old adhesive left on the concrete from carpeting. He was professional, timely, extremely responsible, hard working and did an amazing job removing the old glue and filler that was left behind. The floor looks brand new and the porch is usable again!! He also finishes floors with epoxy and when the time comes to do that I will be calling him back!

We are extremely happy with the end product. We bought our house a year ago and inherited a mess in our basement. Previous owners had attempted to stain or paint the cement floor and what was left was smeared bright red paint that stained our socks and bottoms of shoes, and posed a health hazard to our dog and toddler. While we had thought about DIY, in the end even just trying to clean up the red in order to apply fresh epoxy paint became quite defeating! Having Steve do it all professionally was absolutely worth the time and money. He showed up on time, was pleasant to work with and finished the project on schedule. Given the quality of his work, you can also tell he pays attention to detail. He did a great job evening out the surface of our floor and then applying the epoxy paint so that the color and consistency is seamless.
Description of Work: Steve of Tuffcoat turned a sloppy looking basement into a very clean space that we could actually use. The process included sanding, filling in cracks in our cement floor and then applying two layers of epoxy paint with color flakes.

Steve is great to work with,he's very transparent and there are no surprises. There was a ton of rain and he worked around it and never complained about the extra trips. He has 20years of experience and it shows in his work! I highly recommend him and will refer him whenever possible.
Description of Work: Fantastic transformation of a really ugly double garage floor into something beautiful. I couldn't believe the difference! Steve's a true professional.

Came out on a Friday and gave a bid. Bid accepted and work began on Monday - completed on Wednesday. Garage looks unbelievably beautiful. Contractor on time, meticulous, bid right on. Several neighbors expressed interest in having him to their garages. Our immediate neighbor is scheduled to have his garage floor done tomorrow. Would highly recommend.

Tuffcoat was very responsive in bidding and their bid was competitive. They completed the job as bid and on time. They were friendly and professional. We were very satisfied with the job. I would use them again and I would recommend them.
Description of Work: The garage floor was ground with a diamond grinder and the rough areas were filled with a filler. The floor was epoxy sealed and a second coat with color was then added.

We contacted 3 firms for bids on doing an outside concrete deck. It took a few days for him to respond to our phone calls but part of that was our fault as we left town soon after the call. When he did respond he set a time to come out, gave us a solid bid and was willing to wait for us to get back to him. When we finally did, he scheduled the work for the very next week. He stuck to the schedule he gave us. He was polite, punctual and was firm on his price even though he added a second application of epoxy which was not included in the initial bid. He took the time to explain the process, and how to care for it. Even though he usually does inside floors and garage floors he was willing to work with us on this outdoor project.
Description of Work: Steve sanded and then coated our outdoor concrete deck. He applied 2 coats of epoxy, adding "grit" for better footing. He then applied a urethane over coat.

This was one of my best ever contractor experiences. Steve was quick to come out to do a bid, explained the system to me, explained what I could expect (managing my expectations for a perfectly flat floor to be realistic), shared his experience working with different colors and finishes, and provided a detailed bid. He made sure to ask about and identify if there were any existing conditions that would mean this wasn't an appropriate product for my space. He spent two full days and a final morning sanding/leveling/installing the new floor. (That was one morning longer than he'd predicted, but not significantly different from the original plan.) While the sanding created an incredible amount of dust, he set up a system that managed most of the dust. (There was quite a bit to clean up in the two areas he didn't work in after he left.) He'd warned me of the smell of both the epoxy and the urethane, but set up such a good system to manage that that my tenants thought he hadn't done the work. Steve clearly loves his work, and enjoys the challenge of a difficult job (which this was due to the shape of the space and the condition of the existing slab) as well as the achievement of providing an excellent final product. I feel like I got a great deal on this project - I suspect it was more work than he'd expected, but despite the extra time and the more expensive color choice on my part (which he'd agreed to split the cost on), he charged his original bid.
Description of Work: Steve installed an epoxy floor in my 107-year-old basement. This included significant sanding down of the old ("rat slab") concrete slab, leveling the slab, two thick layers of epoxy, and a thin layer of urethane to keep it shiny.

Excellent work. Very nice to work with. He fit us into his schedule right away. Explained everything in detail, had the best prices compared to similar products out there. He's been doing this 20 years. Our garage and utility room floors look terrific.
