Raven Builders provided professional, timely, and worry-free services. This company showed up every time, on time, and delivered a quality outcome at a fair price. The company owner kept subcontractors on schedule, and coordinated well with other service providers hired by the homeowner. Change orders were handled professionally and smoothly, without complication. This is an HONEST contractor, and the homeowner does not have to worry about "tracking down" the company owner! The only subcontractor who disappointed was the drywall installer, whose performance was not up to the quality of the rest of the work delivered by the contractor. Overall, this is an "A" company that provides stress-free service. I recommend this company without hesitation.

Lon was very professional and friendly, took a look at my doors and actually recommended that I look for some other people before asking him to do it, as my problems were fairly unique and he wanted to make sure I got the job done 'right'. To his credit _every other person_ who's looked at my doors has refused to work on them. I hope to use him in the future.

+ We are in our new home for just over a month and it is the cozy, homey house that Lonn promised us. Lonn will be returning in the spring to finish a couple of outside details including landscaping and driveway. Lonn has a good rapport with his subcontractors and it showed in the craftsmanship of the work they did. There is a lot to remember and coordinate in a big project like this and occasionally Lonn would forget something that we requested , but he was fine with going back and taking care of oversights. He has called several times since we moved in to ask how it is going .

At the beginning a large dumpster was placed in the driveway and the demolition revealed that it was definitely the correct choice. One worker did most of the work and walled in the new area. Though this didn't get done immediately, it was done before Thanksgiving and before the weather got too difficult. By New Years the windows were installed, wallboard was mostly done and floors were refinished. The plumbing wasn't finished and the electrical wasn't done yet. Since I wanted to sleep in the house if snow storms made commuting difficult (one hour each way), I wanted this done as soon as it was possible. Nothing was done in January. They had another job but I was promised that the first week of February my house would have their full attention. On Feb 7, I was told they would be there on Saturday. They were. The next week they worked at least part of five days, including have the plumbers and drywallers in to do the work needed. The following week they worked four days. That was the most consecutive days during construction. After two days off ( a tour of Andersen Windows?), I got a call on Wednesday but did not see anyone. I was promised that it would be ready for me to complete the finishing work by Friday. I didn't hear any more. On Saturday March 2, I went to work. Builders paper is on the floor yet, saw horses are still in place. I called and was told they would finish on Monday. After I worked at the house for a while, I called Raven Builder's back and asked them to remove their stuff from the property. I'd finish the work or hire other contractors. We were starting the sixth month and I had heard enough excuses. Lon's trim work is nice until he started to hurry. Then he gets sloppy. One miter is very bad and a damaged piece of oak trim was used in an obvious place. The delays always had a reason. After five months I was tired of hearing them. I knew Raven Builders had two other jobs. However, Lon chatted about other jobs that he finished without getting around to mine.

Once Lon was able to start the project, he worked quickly and efficiently. The deck was done within a couple of days. He respected my request to get this done before winter, even though he was busy with other jobs/projects, and he said that he would dig through frozen ground, if he had to in order to get it done. I don't think it came to that, but I know the ground was tough to dig. My impression of Lon is that he genuinely cares about his customers as well as the type of work he does. He called after the project to make sure that everything was okay and that it met our expectations. Several people have commented that they like the way our "steps" look. My dad - who has built several decks himself - said that Lon did a good job and that he liked the way that he did the top railing - no screws show. The completed project exceeded my expectations. Even my husband who is very fussy and particular said that he would definitely recommend Lon and would not hesitate to have him do other projects for us.

Lon from Raven Builders put together a deck plan according to our requirements and got the city permit. Our Old decks posts were rotting and being eaten out by carpenter ants which Lon made sure were replanted on better footing and raised. Overall - the decks were built to the requirements specified and to the superior quality I have come to expect from Lon and his team at Raven Builders.

He was responsive in a time crunch and very pleasant and helpful to work with. The work itself was done well and timely; we didn't need to be home as it was all outside work and we came home to a job well done.

We couldn?t be happier with Lon?s work. He?s an honest guy with a good work ethic. Lon built a set of custom bookshelves that dramatically elevate the look of our basement family room. When the trim pieces were delivered for the project weren?t to our liking, Lon returned them without complaint and replaced them with something much nicer. All the work was done with great precision; all whom have seen it are extremely impressed. We will call Lon again for future projects.

We had been getting water in our basement during warming spring weather when snow melted and water backed up against our side door. The threshold under the door had rotted out. I cleaned it out and then Lon Kruse from Raven Builders filled in the void with concrete, and installed a new wooden threshold. He pays close attention to detail and it came out looking really nice. He also installed 50 feet of drain tile to give the water somewhere to go. Great work, reasonable rate. I'd definitely call Lon again.

Lon was very professional, on time, and flexible to when I needed the work done. All of my doors were very well done - you can put them in any position of their swinging motion and they will stay (not closing on themselves) The casing and trim looks great as well. He came in exactly where his estimate was as well which was a pleasant surprise. He also had some interesting framing ideas / details I wouldn't have even thought of. I would definitely recommend Lon to others!

Raven Builders executed the work within the range of our cost and time estimates while still maintaining very high quality and attention to detail including safety which were all important factors for me. The owner (Lon) worked patiently with our changing needs and gave us good information and options. We plan on hiring Raven Builders again for our future home improvement projects.

Lon did a superb job with great attention to detail and patience to explain the choices that could be made during the project. He completed his work in a timely fashion and charged exactly what his estimate had said (a shade less actually). We highly recommend his workmanship

Lon came over for a consult and gave us lots of good information. Nice guy, great ideas, we just decided to sell the house rather than add-on.

Lon did a wonderful job, as usual. I have hired him a number of times in the past and he has always come through for me. He is highly skilled, detail oriented, honest and trustworthy. I highly recommend him.

It went very well. Lon is very easy to work with and is an excellent carpenter. He is a perfectionist and will take the time to do the job right. His rates are reasonable and he is easy to work with. I will definitely hire him again in the future.

Lon is a terrific worker. He always either arrived on time or called to let me know if he'd be late. He spent about 1 1/2 weeks, working several hours per day on our finish work. We deliberately kept a loose schedule to accommodate both parties. I actually looked forward to his good humor and upbeat attitude every day. His work is beautiful. The ledge that he created is a work of ingenuity because of the tricky posts around which he needed to work. Lon always gave us 3 levels of options for each part of the task, based upon price and how it would look. My dogs having their noses in his way was a source of humor rather than irritation. Lon truly believes that he is only as good as his work and his word, and will bend over backwards to make sure that you are happy. Recommended highly and without reservation.
