The project started on time as promised, and went rather quickly on many fronts. Because we were working with another provider for our countertops, we had a delay in that item delivery and installation. This was really the only delay on the project. We had a dilemma going in, which was not knowing what was hidden under the soffitts we were having removed. The ceiling was oak plank, and upon removing the soffitts we found there was a rectangular opening into the attic. Since the planking was installed long ago, replacement boards could not just be purchased anywhere. Schottmuller Brothers was able to mill the wood here on the project, installing it in a way that no one would be the wiser that there had been a hole there. We luckily still had the pickling agent used to stain/paint from previous updates so it all blends in. We could not be happier with the result. Overall, everyone worked well together, and I credit Jeff for his calm and reassuring demeanor during what can be a trying time. Living without a kitchen, which in our house is a central hub, is difficult. We made it through in just under 6 weeks and are extremely pleased with our new kitchen.
