+ -1 moreI had just bought the house and needed to get the living room painted immediately because I could not live with the color, and I couldn't start unpacking until the painting was done. Mick was able to come out on short notice. He was extremely accommodating to my schedule. He has an excellent work ethic. He showed up promptly when promised, worked efficiently, and was tidy. Most importantly, he did a beautiful job. I plan to have him come back for additional remodeling work.

Description of Work: Mick finished our basement for us. It is beautiful. He is very conscientious and careful about his craft. He does not cut corners and completes the project on time. Neighbors have used him too because of our recommendation. We have used him since for smaller projects and will use him for our next remodeling projects.

+ 0 moreHe did a basement for us initially and we liked him a deal so we’ve had him back for some smaller jobs. He does quality, conscientious work. He doesn’t cut corners, he is dependable, he comes when he says he is going to, he finishes when he says he is going to, and he just does fantastic work.
Description of Work: Thompson Construction & Remodeling has done a couple of different smaller jobs for us. The most recent one was repairing our deck.

+ 7 moreWe had debated doing some or most of the basement finishing project on our own. We were referred to Mick by a friend so we requested a bid. He listened to what I had planned, asked some questions, took measurements that day and then had an estimate to us within a few days. Some design decisions were made before he arrived, some final decisions were made on the fly by us. He interpreted my vision very well, and used his experience to provide feedback when I wanted/needed it, but he was never pushy. We both understood up front that we wanted it done well, and he clearly cares a great deal about his work. I was impressed with how many different skills he displayed while working on the basement. He frequently asked me if i was happy with everything. If something wasn't exactly how we wanted it, he was always eager to tweak it.
Description of Work: He finished our basement. He helped with design & permit application. He did all the framing, insulating, hung sheetrock, painted, stained, and installed all interior trim, doors and cabinetry. He installed dri-core sub flooring on the slab floor before carpet was installed. He did excellent tile work in the bathroom, including the shower stall. He installed cultured stone on a partial wall peninsula that included our three sided fireplace. Mick custom fabricated and installed the bathroom full height linen cabinet, as well as the wood cubby/cabinet where we mounted our flat screen TV, and the accompanying cabinet that houses our audio/video equipment and accessories. He custom made a mantel shelf/ledge over the three sided fireplace, and a matching extension shelf along the wall with black metal accessory brackets. During this process he detected and corrected a water leak from improper flashing on a recent deck project. If this hadn't been detected before finishing was complete, it would have been hidden and probably never detected until it had caused extensive damage. He also installed a semi-custom shower enclosure we ordered from a local glass supplier.
