I have used Ben Franklin Plumbing several times in the past and they always did a good job. Unfortunately, this time things did not go so well. I needed to get my electric hot water heater repaired. It took a week for them to get the parts, even though the parts were in Golden Valley (close by). Rather than draining my water tank, they replaced the heating elements with water in the tank to save time, resulting in dark brown water in the hot water lines which hasn't cleared up after an hour of running the water.

They did a really good job and explained to me everything.

Daniel gave me a detailed estimate, and talked through everything with me. Daniel and his crew were punctual, did an excellent job in every way, cleaned up after themselves, and left my home in much better shape than before they arrived. Gary (Plumbing Service Manager) made sure I was totally satisfied. Daniel and Gary were knowledgeable, respectful, and professional. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Very badly. The problem was NOT resolved. Ben Franklin claimed to have a trained expert on tankless water heaters. Their man came to repair the cause of a Code 90 Noritz error, and I agreed to pay $385 for the repair. The analysis turned out to be a gas pressure reading and cleaning the flame sensor. He evidently was clueless that Noritz has a list of other items that also impact Code 90 and require attention, and he announced he was not going to dig into it further at that price. He did not even notice there was no flame visible in the viewing port meaning it was burning higher up in the heat exchanger and did not call Noritz to learn the list of other things requiring attention or how to run their digital diagnostics. Even after working with Xcel to eliminate the low gas pressure (higher capacity meter and regulator), the problem has persisted with showers turning ice cold. With Noritz guidance, I removed and cleaned the fan which has made a significant improvement in the situation. Noritz has also guided me through a digital diagnostic procedure on my keypad and determined I need to adjust the manifold gas pressure slightly – they will talk me through it with the digital manometer they recommend I buy. It is sad that all I got was a superficial overview without knowledge of the many potential root causes for $385. I recently wrote a letter to the Ben Franklin manager requesting a refund, and 10 days later I have had no contact from Ben Franklin. If you have a tankless water heater, do NOT call Ben Franklin.

Andrew O from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing came out promptly and did the repair quickly. He explained what needed to be done and what the cost would be. The repair was great and comes with a 2 year warranty. Andrew was friendly and did a great job of cleaning up after the repair. I will definitely contact Ben Franklin Plumbing again when I need any plumbing repair.

Master Plumber Yuriy T. arrived on time and quickly assessed the problem. The repair was completed in less than two hours of his arrival. During the final paperwork he offered but did not pressure me to buy an extended service agreement. There are certainly higher rated plumbing companies and less expensive ones, but of the few I contacted none could offer same day service. I was extremely pleased with the experience. I would not hesitate to ask for Yuriy by name.

They were excellent. Their competence stood out for me. I could tell that they are very good at what they do and are very skilled. I would use them again.
