Description of Work: Dayco fixed the mortar and cap on our chimney and fixed cracks around the foundation of our garage. Most of the work was done well. We did have to ask Dayco to send someone back to finish off some missed parts of the garage. Dayco had someone out within one day of our follow-up call and I was impressed with the responsiveness to my concern.

Description of Work: Rebuilt the chimney from the roof up. They started at 7:30a.m. and finished that afternoon. The roofer, which they provided, did the flashing the next day. They even scheduled the inspector to come. Good job.

Description of Work: I am Maintenance Chairman of Saddlewood Assoc. We used Angie's list to find the 'right' reputable builder. Ralph, the owner-Manager was very available for my questions. He was willing to work with us on a # of issues, including one where 'bricks OR something had fallen down the stack and bent a gas pipe of the 'gas-enclosed fireplace'. Because this may have been occurred when the chimney cap had been repaired before, OR during THIS installation, AND because it was not provable either way, it was decided to go 50-50 on the repair of the gas line. This could have gotten very ugly, but Ralph in his very calm manner settled this amically. His prices were the best and I plan to hire him again in 2012, if his pricing remains reasonable. We had 27 chimneys in need of 1. new bricks, 2. mortar, 3.flashing, 4. Chim-a-lator repair, 5, and Chimney caps. One of the lessons I learned was to have a LIMESTONE cap with a 'Drip-Edge' installed. This is most important and now required in many suburbs including Bloomington, Mn I have nothing negative to say about Dayco.

 + -1 moreContractor did a decent job of cleanup, but could have been more careful with surrounding landscape. Caused minor damage to a nearby shrub and left some masonry dust on lawn, where bricks were cut. A drop cloth would have helped protect grass. If I use this contractor in the future, I will be sure to have all contingencies and details specified on front of contract. Their original bid of $4800 was based on assumption that existing structure would be free of reinforcement, according to the fine print on the back. Final cost increased by $300 due to a difficult demolition and the presence of rebar in steps and walk. Their warranty is only for 1 year, much shorter than another concrete contractor I have used.
Description of Work: This report is for both concrete and masonry. Dayco demolished and replaced brick buttress, 4 steps, and 20+ feet of sidewalk reinforced with rebar. They matched brick texture and color very nicely to existing foundation and replaced decrepit address plaque with one I ordered over internet, thanks to a suggestion from contractor. Supervisor Dave Dvorak was attentive to my needs and work crew was pleasant. Results are lovely. See photo.

Description of Work: I CALLED THEM TO HAVE THEM TAKE A LOOK AT MY CHIMNEY AS ANOTHER FIRM HAD SAID IT NEEDED TO BE REBUILT. A GENTLEMAN FROM DAYCO CAME BY AND TOOK A LOOK AT IT AND SAID I DIDN'T NEED TO REBUILD, JUST CAULK IT UP A BIT. HE DIDN'T CHARGE ME ANYTHING.
