Description of Work: The people were great. The product is not so great. My glasses are loose and the people there said they are not able to fix them.

FIRST, there was one guy there that did no give me any half-truths or bull-crap when I asked him a question. if you must go to this store to buy appliances, at least he deserves whatever commission he makes. he's a big black guy. I think he's the only black guy working there(if I could remember his name I'd have put it here). to summarize how this unit of Sears Appliance sales struck out: me: how much will delivery and haul-away cost? salesperson1: around 70 dollars altogether for delivery and haul-away of the old fridge me: Lowes would do both for no extra charge. salesperson1: well the charge is rebateable, so it's the same thing; you would get a store credit for the delivery and haul away charges. I go ahead and make the purchase. Then on the way out I spot another salesperson and try to verify: me: is it true that if I buy a refrigerator, I will get a store credit for the delivery and haul-away charge? salesperson2: that's only if you use a sears card to buy it with. STRIKE ONE, because salesperson1 either lied or didn't understand the policy. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- me : who makes this Kenmore refrigerator? salesperson1: Whirlpool. later research on my part showed that it was made by fridgidaire. I first cancel the sale, but then go ahead and tell the guy to reinstate after he apologizes, swears he didn't understand the policy, and tells me he'll try to do what he can get me the store credit anyway. At each step where the sale was entered to their system, canceled, and then reinstated, I chose to receive and e-receipt, which I never got. The salesperson also explained to me that because I paid with a check-card(it was a VISA check card), the voided sale would not be re-creditted to my account for 5 to 7 days. At this point I was OK with it because I knew I had money enough in the account to cover other expenses for the month; but I thought "hmm, other stores, e.g. Target, doesn't hold the money that long when I return something..." STRIKE TWO, because salesperson1 either lied or didn't know the correct information. STRIKE THREE, because when I checked my email later that night and the next morning, the receipts were not there(not anywhere, not in the spam folders, etc. either). --------------------------------------------------------------------------- so worrying about whether the first sale was really voided and wondering if I really purchased two refridgerators, I went back to the store the next day to ask for printed receipts. me: I was here yesterday and did not get my receipts in my email as expected, could you print me copies of the receipts? salesperson2: I don't know how. salesperson3: you can do it but you have to do a lookup, I will show you. me: I can either give you the credit card, or these bar coded slips with no other infomation on them that I got from yesterday. salesperson3: oh I can use those(the bar codes). she looks up the sale records. she says they can't just reprint receipts from the register by using my credit card, when I mention that other stores can. I say that I really need to know which record is for the sale that was voided. then she says that the salesperson I dealt with yesterday(salesperson1) is present, that they work on commission, and that it is unfair to her for me to be bringing my request for receipts to her. I say that he was talking to another customer when I came in, and that she and the other salesperson were not. then, because I am irked at her comment, I decided to ask her another question. me: who makes the Kenmore refridgerators? salesperson3: the ones with side-by-side door are made by LG, the others are made by Whirlpool. me: yeah, that's what salesperson1 said, but when I looked it up on the internet, it said it was made by Frigidaire. salesperson3: oh it's a top-freezer model. some of those might be differentt. does it's model number start with a 18. me: I don't know, because I don't have a receipt with the model number. she goes away saying that she's going to get the receipts. STRIKE FOUR, because another of their salespeople tried to mislead me about the true manufacturer. STRIKE FIVE, because salesperson3 acts as if my time is not just as valueable as hers. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- while salesperson3 is away, I go to look at the fridge again to check if the model number does start with 18. the price on the unit now is over 150 bucks more than it was yesterday. it looks the same, but at this point I don't know if it is really the same one, whether they pulled the display model to ship to me, or what. when I return not more than one minute later to salesperson 3 she says the model number is on the receipts, which she doesn't have anymore, and points me to the original salesperson1. salesperson3 also makes some remark about how she's trying to help me but I'm giving her grief. STRIKE SIX: I am already out one hour of my time, and my family could be out a lot of time, money, and aggravation if the unit breaks down within a few months; and the sears salesperson3 complains about getting grief because I called her on one of her misleading answers. me: let me try to understand something here. I am paying money, I ask 3 different sales people questions and get different answers for everything except when I ask you and the other guy who made the thing, and then the answer is the same - until I call you on it. then you change up and say 'oh it's a top freezer model'. now who is getting grief? salesperson3: no, I said that some of the top freezer models might not be made by whirlpool. me: no, you did not say that until I told you that I found out different from an internet search on the index number that appears on the appliance tag right before the serial number. STRIKE SEVEN: salesperson3 tries to bend the story of which I was a part of the whole time. me: forget the whole thing, cancel the sale, and I want my money creditted back into my account NOW. Call your manager, I don't care, I should be able to get my money back TODAY. manager: we can't do that. me: why can Target do it but you can't. when I return something there, it is taken right back off of my card account and shows up the same day. manager: the money will show posted to you account as voided, but it won't show up in your available balance. me: that is not true, because the sale that was voided yesterday is still showing up as if I bought 2 refrigerators. then the manager tried to say that this happens all the time, and cites an example where it took up to 10 days when she returned a jewelery item; BUT THE ITEM WAS BOUGHT AT SEARS AND RETURNED TO SEARS, SO THIS IS JUST HER SAYING SHE SUFFERED FROM THE SAME SEARS CRAP when it comes to voided sales. AND KEEP IN MIND, I NEVER TOOK POSSESSION OF THE UNIT. FINALLY. there was one guy there that did no give me any half-truths or bull-crap when I asked him a question. if you must go to this store to buy appliances, at least he deserves whatever commission he makes. he's a big black guy. I think he's the only black guy working there(if I could remember his name I'd have put it here). actually I think I will move this to the top, because he doesn't deserve any of this.
Description of Work: nothing, because after wasting a good part of my weekend with their misleading statements(at best), I cancelled the whole deal.
