 + -1 moreRainbow answered when I called and said someone would be out the following week to take a look. She said I didn't have to be home, which was convenient. Their rates are competitive and I appreciated the additional information about the diseases. Since the Borer hasn't been found in Mpls yet, and is easily treatable, I decided to hold off on inoculation at this time, but will consider Rainbow in the future.
Description of Work: Asked for an estimate to inoculate my Ash tree against the Emerald Ash Borer. I was pleased to see the estimate left in my door, which also included a separate estimate for inoculating my Elm tree. With the estimate Sarah provided literature about both diseases, as well as her business card. The Ash tree is 34" diameter and would cost $247 annually. The Elm tree is 27" diameter and would be $458 which lasts 3 yrs against root transmission.

 + -1 moreI called to ask for someone to come to my home to give me an estimate on trimming a tree. The employee that I spoke to made it sound like Rainbow was too busy to consider trimming one tree. However, I was told that the arborist would stop by my house within the next two weeks, when he had other business in the area. The arborist never came by and no one ever called to let me know that they wouldn't be giving me an estimate.

 + 0 moreThey were fabulous. We got tree estimates and they were amongst the lowest. They had wonderful recommendations. They came when they said they would. They were fast and careful. They had great communication about what they were doing. When the tree stump would be removed I wanted some logs. They cut some logs for me. They were just very responsive to our neighbor who was concerned about the branches on her lawn. They just could not have been more professional and more courteous.

The excavation was successful on one tree, and revealed a complicated and compromised root system on the other, which Mike will re-assess. Tony and Brent answered all of our questions.
Description of Work: Mike Sombrio (arborist) assessed our trees and shrubs, recommending removal of one ash and girdling root excavation of two others. Today Tony, Brent, and Tony performed the excavations.

 + -1 moreScott was very prompt; he took time to answer my questions and make suggestions. He found a problem with the distressed tree and fixed that problem. I was extremely pleased with Scott.
Description of Work: I have a tree that is showing distress. Scott Henke, the arborist came out and checked the tree, explained the problem and what he could do (and he did it!). He also gave me advice on other plantings and trees in my yard and told me he would check back to see how the distressed tree was recovering. He carefully explained what he thought was the problem with the distressed tree, what he was doing and what could be done if that did not work. In checking the other trees, he did not try to sell me unnecessary work.

He also identified an emergency situation with an infestation of sawflies on an evergreen shrub. He gave suggestions to eliminate the pest and I was able to treat the shrub in a timely manner to minimize the issue.

 + -1 moreI had a wonderful experience with this company. I called about some potentially sick tree and shrubs. They scheduled Scott to come out in just a few days at a time that was convenient for me. Scott arrived on time and walked through the entire property to examine both small ornamental and larger trees for disease and decay. It turns out, my trees were all very healthy. Scott was very professional and explained how to prune the smaller trees on my own and when it might be necessary to hire for more major pruning/removal job. He even showed me the best tools to buy! I would HIGHLY recommend Rainbow and will definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Scott of Rainbow Treecare came out for a first-time consultation. We walked around the entire yard, he examined each tree and shrub for disease/decay, and made recommendations.

 + -1 moreAbout 4 years ago they came out and worked on an old Elm and made sure it didn't have Elm disease. It died about 2 years later. They had a guarantee about there work so when they came out to remove the tree he reminded me about the guarantee and that took off about 500 dollars of the price to have the tree removed. They did a fabulous job and were very honest. They were very friendly.

They definitely work with people who own lots of trees in the city, and they sent out a person who was a certified arborist. They had already been engaged in spraying my trees, but were unable to do the spraying effectively right away because the weather was not suitable. At first they were thinking of treating one of my trees with products that would help prolong its life, which is what I wanted too. They gave me estimates for both treating it and taking it down. Their price for the same type of work that I got another company to do, would have been $1500 or more, and that is pretty much the reason why I didn't hire them to that job.

We were leaving for vacation the next day and due to the time of year they had to trim right away or wait until the fall. We made a decision quickly and Ben offered to take care of all the arraingments and details whle were were away. He was even available on the weekend to confirm while when we called from out of town. Ben arranged everything, including notifying the neighbors of a temporary power outage because the power lines had to be moved. We arrived home to find all the trees trimmed as we agreed to. Everything was cleaned up and the lawn was raked and clean. We are very pleased with the customer service we received and will gladly work with Ben again.
