We don’t use them anymore because we moved into a condo, but they did a phenomenal job.  They were extremely honest in their recommendations.  They worked with the entire neighborhood and put in a variety of trees and had it all done at the same time.  It was looking good and they also gave us a nice discount.  They would come out to trim trees and as far as we could tell they did a great job on the trimming and the cleanup was excellent which was very important because if the wood that they trimmed off the elm tree stands around too long it could catch a beetle.  The cleanup was so quick and we wouldn’t have even known that they had cut the trees.  The first time an arborist came out and explained exactly what needed to be done and when the cutting team came out, the arborist came out the second time.  He went through what was going to be done and why and answered any questions.

They charged me $613.46 for the tree removal and $75 for the shearing. I thought that their price was very cheap and was expecting it to be more, but I think they needed the business or something. I think I am going to use their services again in the spring.

They did very well, were thorough and efficient. They had good communication and were good about keeping us informed of the various steps of the process. They were a little spendy but I will use them again in the future.

The arborist was prompt and was able to identify every tree in our yard.  In addition to discussing the pruning, he provided tips on caring for some of our other trees and answered questions we had about issues including ash borers.  He sent over the proposal in just a couple of days and the estimate was less than I expected.  We accepted the proposal and he informed us that the pruning would probably take place in January.  However, we received a call in mid-December indicating they would be able to perform the service sooner.  They were polite, prompt, fast, and removed all debris.  We had an excellent experience with Rainbow Treecare.  I would recommend them to anyone!

Overall it was an excellent experience, the best I could imagine.  I was called when they arrived on site and we talked through a couple adjustments to my request which the executed exactly as I asked.  I was continuously impressed with the knowledge and professionalism from the time the arborist came to assess the situation and develop the estimate (I signed up on the spot) until the people came and did the work.  The area was cleaned up and the maple tree looked wonderful.  I had some work done by Rainbow tree almost ten years ago and it went just as well.  I will not use anyone else.

For about 6 years or more we've worked with Rainbow Tree Care and their arborist Leben McCormick.  Each year Leben contacts us with an assessment of what needs to be done to keep our trees healthy and our yard looking good.  We wouldn't use anyone else.  The level of expertise and professionalism is extremely high.  Leben was able to save an ill Tina Crab Apple tree that had huge sentimental value to us; now each year Rainbow does an apple scab pre-season spray to avoid a repeat problem.  Our Tina Crab looks great.  They are also very clear about when they will arrive and what our part is in assisting a successful treatment.  While I'm thinking of them, they also removed a huge, mature ash tree about 6 years ago from our backyard.  We live in St. Paul and our lots are pretty close together making it a challenge to get such a large tree down and hauled away without treading into neighbors' space .  It was amazing to watch their work!  We could tell these guys were just wizards -- the beauty of watching people who are craftspeople at what they do.

Awesome job. Punctual. Impressive cleanup. They always called a day or two ahead to make sure their planned appointment time would be fine -- job was performed exactly as promised. Would recommend in a heartbeat. Will probably have them out again to spray the crabapples again next year, and probably a pruning in a few years after that. Their arborists keep your yard diagram (with tree numbering, etc) on file so you can request further services with the same reference point.
Also a nifty perk -- Seamless billing process -- you can pay your invoice online and even save a stamp. This company has earned my loyalty for as long as i'm living in the twin cities!

The arborist came out and was very knowledgeable.  He made recommendations and gave us the estimate.  He said the work would be done within two weeks.  Five weeks went by with no contact from Rainbow and no work done.  I contacted the arborist and the president of the company and both were apologetic and responsive.  We did get a 10 percent discount for the delay.  The crew that came out were professional, although, now I see straggly branches on the trees that would have looked better trimmed.  They spent a lot of time working on our honeysuckle and I am very pleased with how that is filling in.  The second phase, which was fertilization was to have been done in May and May went by with no contact and no service.  We got a call the second week of June and I ended up cancelling that service due to frustration. I do think after the issues with the tree trimming delays Rainbow should have been very careful to do the remainder of the work as promised.

We had used other so-called arborists in the past and they turned out to be "men with chain saws" who knew nothing about trees - even how to prune them properly.  We would suggest that anyone research the web regarding the proper pruning of trees.  Then, ask anyone who might do the work how they would prune the tree. Our experience with other services - be careful of men who call themselves an arborist.  We had requested an evaluation from one.  We discovered that prior to coming he had referenced the same web site as I had regarding that same type of tree.  However, he did not remember all of the info' as well as I did!

The guy that directed the crew was condensing to senior citizens, but the crew themselves were fine. Their arborist was excellent. He came out and drew up the contract and gave me good advice.

Over the years I have been very impressed with them. They have an experienced arborist named Kent Honl who is superb. He knew the name of a tree that even my landscape professional did not know of. He is extremely knowledgeable and has provided me with great advice. I have met with an executive of the company and found him to be very responsive, cordial and focused on customer service.

They are excellent in everyway.  Al the sales person was thorough and explained what the best action was to take on the trees.  The pruing and cutting down of trees was scheduled in a very timely manner.  There was a whole crew of professionals working on the project most of the day.  They cleaned up branches and raked the tigs leaving the yard in wonderful condition.  The foreman showed us around and explained what was happening as the day progressed. The grinding of the stumps will take place in about a week and I expect to have the same exceptional service from this company,.

We had never had Christmas lights on our house before. It took two men nine hours to do the work. I was glad that I wasn't the one doing the work. They keep the senior citizen off the ladder, which I think is worthwhile. I just had to write a check. They take the lights down and store them. They make sure that all of the lights work properly. It makes it easier for Santa Claus to find the house.

They were very timely. They did everything in a very timely, professional fashion. These guys are a very safe group for trimming trees, unlike some tree companies. They found things that needed to be cleaned. They were very careful and professional.

Contacted firm after ice storm. They were prompt in coming out and giving estimate. Some time intervened and it became cold and very snowy. They showed up and performed the service for the same price, despite having to use a snowblower to make a lengthy path to the back yard to remove the Viburnum hedge that had been destroyed and to deal with more adverse weather conditions than when the estimate was given.

We called Rainbow Tree Care this summer to take advantage of the Angie's List coupon for a free consultation with an arborist, because we had several questions regarding the identification and health of the mature trees on our lot. Arborist, Sarah W, came to our house the morning of our appointment. She was prompt, knowledgable, professional, and very friendly. We were happy to learn what some unidentified trees were on our lot. She also advised us to remove a Norway maple that we were concerned about. She identified the issues with the tree (there were several) and provided us with some brochures on the problems. She also provided cost estimates for various work and took the time to write down the names of some trees that she recommended for replacements. She then left us to make decisions and schedule the work. Based on her recommendations, we decided to have a large silver maple in front trimmed and to have the Norway maple removed. We called Rainbow to schedule the work. We were informed that the queue was about 6-8 weeks, and they would call us to schedule the work. During that time, we researched replacement shade trees, using Arborist Sarah's list as a starting point. After about seven weeks, I phoned Rainbow to find out where we were in the queue. During that call, the service department was able to schedule the work for later that same week. On the work day, a small army of trucks and workers descended upon our yard. The guys had the trees taken care of in a matter of hours and they left our lawn impeccibly clean and unmarked -- only one small indent where the large trunk of the 30+ foot maple had been dropped. I'm sorry I didn't take pictures, as it was an impressive operation. We asked to keep the trunk and large limbs for firewood, which they did, even moving the large pieces off the lawn to spare the grass. They were very careful, friendly, and efficient. A piece of gutter downspout was accidentally damaged -- they replaced the piece and told me what had happened and how they had fixed it. Very professional. The stump grinding was completed by another crew a few weeks later. I wasn't home when this work took place, but again, the lawn was clean and undamaged by the work. We did some tamping and reseeding this fall, and the grass is already growing in to cover the area where a 38-inch circumference tree once stood. It's pretty amazing. Working with Rainbow was not a quick process -- it was several months start to finish, but it was a great experience. Learning about the trees in our yard inspired us to remove several "garbage" trees from our lot on our own and replace them with beautiful, MN-appropriate saplings.

Rainbow Treecare is very professional and competent. Their tree expert came out and gave me an assessment of all of the trees in our yard (free due to an Angie's List coupon). He then made a list of recommendations, which I agreed to. I was expecting to spend some money on the trees, because no one had lived in our house for a couple of years and some things were getting overgrown. When they came to do the trimming, everything went great and they cleaned everything up. The only complaint I have is there was a large bee hive in our Crabapple tree that they were trimming, and they just left it there. It would have been nice of them to remove it or at least ask me about it considering I was paying over $150 for them to trim that one tree (there were no more living bees in the hive). Overall I am happy with Rainbow Treecare, and I have the peace of mind that my trees are healthy and I am doing what I can to keep them that way.
