Very pleased with the service overall with work the employees and the follow-up.

WE ALSO HAD A DRAINING ISSUE AND RECTIFIED THE PROBLEM BY INSTALLING SOME SORT OF DRAINING TILES. THEY WERE PRETTY EXPENSIVE BUT WERE VERY PROMPT. THEY STARTED SHORTLY AFTER I PAID THE DEPOSIT.

Everything went very smoothly from the initial estimate to the final adjustments. The landscape design is absolutely elegant! The landscape crew worked diligently even in excessive heat. They were efficient and meticulous. I was able to contact someone in a timely way whenever I had a question. The company worked with us even after the work was done and the final payment had been made. After a few weeks we realized that a tree "didn't take" and was dying. L & R Landscaping came out as soon as possible to replace the tree. Additionally, after about a month we had trouble with the lighting. They cheerfully came out to adjust it with no charge. I appreciate that they were still willing to care for the project even though it was technically finished! There is also intangible benefit to working with a company where you feel that the employees all respect and actually LIKE each other!

We are so impressed with the work, from start to finish! All I have to say is: Wow! L&R was one of the lowest bids that we received. Ron came to do our estimate, and was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He had great suggestions for what to do with our driveway and drainage issues. Every inch of the work they did for us was beautiful, with so much attention to detail. They put down straw over the raw dirt to reduce mud and erosion until grass grows in. Once the driveway was completed, they came back and filled in the dirt around the driveway, and even put back our planter, rocks, border and garden fence! The driveway turned out beautiful, and drains perfectly. The backyd is perfect. All the work they did with their laser sights really paid off. The neighbors have been commenting on how good it looks. When the work was done, Lyle came over to walk through the project with us and make sure we didn't have any questions. Now that's service! They fulfilled everything we asked to a T

(no business cards, literature, websites, vehicle logos, contracts, disclosures, or terms) & bids written with pencil on notebook paper. My neighbor suggested I join Angie's List so I contacted 2 highly rated landscapers in my area. What a difference! I went with L&R because they were big enough to handle all the aspects of the job I wanted. I met with Ron Cemenski who I felt really listened to me. He came back with one of their designers to measure & then met with me to present a plan that could be done in phases. CAD drawings, detailed proposal, terms & conditions, warranty, timelines... he nailed it. Ron & their staff/workers really lived up to the initial presentation. They stayed in communication, handled problems & did good work. Thanks again!!

Ron is top notch, very knowledgeable and takes great pride in his work. Scheduling was a breeze as well. When they accidentally cut our cable lines they did everything possible to contact our provider and get us reconnected. The only thing I was slightly disappointed about was when we called to confirm how much of the land would be excavated and we were told that removing ALL of the debris, even the trees and weeds that were growing in our neighbor's yard, would cost an extra $500.00. The cost for this seemed high given the total price of the project and the extra area in question. I recommend that prospective customers have Ron quote a very, very specific job and include every detail (including re-seeding and topsoil) in the original quote.

Glad we didn't waste both our time. Wish I would've known about the minimum before I called.

The project went well. It took about three weeks to meet with an estimator but that was in June - likely their busiest time. Their cost estimate was about 10% higher than one highly rated landscaper and almost half that of another highly rated Angie's List landscaper. (See my other reports.) I chose L & R Suburban because of the cost and because they seemed to have more experience than other landscaper in working with clay pavers.

They came, they saw, they estimated. It went fine. We are considering using them next year.

Removed large inground swimming pool and filled/sodded. Also added granite stone walkway to connect with existing pathway. Very professional and courteous from the estimate stage to finishing project. Very satisfied with all aspects of project.

Overall we were happy with the look of our landscaping and paver sidewalk. However, we do expect any changes/damage within one year should be repaired quickly and permanently. We feel they did a 'quick fix'.

They came out, did what they said they were going to do for the amount they had said and the amount of time they said. I have not had any water problems in my basement since.

We are very happy with the quality of L&R's work: the end product looks better than we envisioned. They re-potted and moved existing flowers, addressed issues right away and even re-laid sod without being asked. Our one complaint is lack of communication. We did too many follow-up calls even when L&R said they would get back to us. They are not proactive in their communications. For example, we found out work had started by coming home to an excavated yard. On the plus side, there was always a live person answering our calls.

They were polite, and appropriately priced for work done. Didn't always communicate or return phone calls promptly even though promised - lead to much frustration. Though I would hire them again, I would be sure some of my plants that were moved were marked so I didn't lose them into the trash. Greater supervision of project may have been helpful.

I was scheduled two weeks out for Ron to come to my home to discuss a fairly large project. He came and we walked around in the rain for some time. He said he would have something drawn up in a couple of days and would be in touch. That was over two months ago and I have never heard a word from him or anyone else in the company. It was a waste of both of our time. Ironically they were the only company I had called and I may have just gone ahead with them. Needless to say I have since moved on.

When Ron first came out he could tell that in order to make the drainage work they would need to regrade an area of my yard. He came up with some very creative ideas that would finish my retaining wall, insure proper drainage and give me steps that matched my existing retaining wall. He priced it out with different options that allowed me to choose how much I wanted to have completed. When Ron stopped by after it was completed he noticed that the water was not draining as well as it should have. He left a message and said he would have a crew out there the next day to adjust the grade. They adjusted for that issue and one other one I noticed later. With both of these adjustments they far exceeded what I thought they would do. He promised me a beautiful patio that would drain correctly and he made sure that is what I got.

Also, very impressed that Ron scheduled a follow up appointment to walk us around the yard and make sure we were happy with the work that was done (before we made final payment).
