We worked with Tom to do the drywall work for our project to finish our basement. His bid for our work was very reasonable compared to a few other bids we had gotten. We could not be happier with the quality of work that Tom completed. Tom was extremely courteous and professional throughout the process and he replied to any questions almost immediately. I would not hesitate to work with Tom again and he will be the 1st person we call for any future drywall needs.

Tom worked with our budget and was able to get the job done in what was quoted 4 days in 2 days, which we really appreciated since we just moved in and could use the long labor day weekend to use the house. Very courteous and cleaned up afterwards.

It was a very easy experience to contact Tom and get him out for a free estimate. After comparing his offer with a couple others, we decided to use him. We got lucky and found some time right away for him to come out. He was on time both days, very polite and did an excellent job cleaning up after what is necessarily a messy process. He quote the project at 2-3 days, and finished in less than a day and a half. We will keep him on file in case we decide to scrape any other ceilings, or have other similar work needed.
Description of Work: Scraped the popcorn ceiling throughout the basement and replaced with a knockdown style finish.

We hired Tom and his team after several weeks of trying to do the job ourselves (and realizing it was way more work than we thought for such a large room) - we needed a professional to finish the job and make the room look great. Tom and his team were wonderful. They were prompt, clean and courteous. Each day they would clearly communicate where they were at in the process and the time they expected to arrive the next day. They finished the job on time and on budget. Overall this was money well spent. We would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: As part of a remodel - Tom and his team repaired several areas on our ceiling and skimmed it for a smooth finish (we had removed the popcorn ceiling ourselves), they also repaired two walls where we a wall had been removed, and they painted to finish.

The service went well over all. One ceiling needed a second treatment and they were happy to come back out to that in a timely manner. One technician was out for the job and completed it in about 3 different trips. He had great communication skills and did excellent work. I was very pleased with the result and scheduling was easy. It was easy to contact him, he called regularly and showed up when he said would. Their pricing seemed reasonable.

I contracted Worm Drywall to hang and finish the walls and ceiling in the basement I was finishing. The job was about 1000 sq. ft. which equates to almost 4000 sq. ft. of drywall. Tom came out and measured, gave us an estimate and said ?we?d never have to touch a thing?. He was right. Once a date was set, the products were delivered to the job site and the entire space was hung in a day by the crew. The job was on time and right at his quote. There was no ?garbage? to throw out and the jobsite was as clean as could be expected. They were considerate of the house, taking off shoes and laying tarps when needed. His taper (Troy) is an artist, finishing the work and matching the ceiling to the rest of the house. Being I did all the framing, he really made me look good! These guys were beyond my expectations. Use them!

Tom was amazing! He is detailed, methodical, neat, patient and very skillful. After coming to give us a bid, Tom gave us a brochure to know how to prepare as well as what to expect. He arrived promptly on the day and time planned. Tom perfectly encases the house to be careful to keep walls, furniture and pictures well protected. Another contractor working on a different project was a month behind schedule causing interesting complications, , but Tom graciously worked with and around that. When Tom was finished with the ceiling work he also carefully cleaned up afterward.

Tom showed up on time, laid plastic down so as to not track in snow, got the job done quickly and for the original estimate. It took some time to schedule but that's because he is busy - which is a good thing. He cleaned up before he was done and was courteous and professional the whole time. Don't try to skimp and safe a little money with someone who isn't good/qualified like I did. Go straight to a pro like Tom.

Note that I didn't use Worm Drywall for any services, however asked some questions on a current job. I'm having my basement remodel done (flooding/black mold issue) with a GC that has been going on for a while. As they started putting paint on, i've been noticing seams and bumps that are very apparent. Talking with my GC, he was giving me feedback that problems will show more since it's 8 ft rather than 12 ft sheets so bumps will be seen, and it's an upgrade to make your walls smooth, etc. Keep in mind this was a gutted basement that was reframed, rocked, etc. Getting nervous and also being a first time homeowner, I submitted some questions to Tom regarding this job. He was very prompt in getting back with me in answering my questions and make me feel i wasn't crazy in what i was thinking. While my GC is attempting to fix the issues i pointed out, Worm Drywall will be the first guy I would call to get an estimate to fix the issues or do additional sheet rock work in my home.

First, I should say that the work has not been completed yet but that I did hire him to do the work~ I will update once it's done.. I am very particular in terms of questions and details and Tom was a complete professional. I appreciated that he was so well organized in his "7 day process" and that he answered all my questions ~ even when I solicited his thoughts on matters unrealted to drywall. I have received 3 bids and Tom's bid fit the rest which I'm told via a contractor friend were all high but please recognize that I am just a homeowner with this one job not multiple jobs, I have a short timeframe, and given all bids were in the same family, his must be on par. I selected Tom because he is insured, he was organized, professional, he was flexible with my schedule (I am due with a baby very soon!), and he seemed to have a well run operation. Of course, the work has not begun but I am excited to get this part of the project complete and look forward to working with Tom. Tom came to the house on the selected day and even arrived early to accomodate my schedule and provided a bid after his review and measure. I appreciated the quick turnaround and thus far every experience has been A+. UPDATE***** The work was completed and I can officially say that Tom is THE BEST person to work with. I contracted everyone for my basement project on my own and he's the one that took charge of his area the most. The iniital sheetrock drop off order was wrong and he got on the phone and resolved the issue before I even knew what was going on!!! I really needed him to finish up the work by a certain date (working backwards as I'm very pregnant and needed carpet laid before baby came) and he delivered.....had guys work weekends, resolved framing issues that were not his problem, brought in fans to help dry things, etc. He just told me that any issue, I call him and let him handle it........aghh.......I cannot tell you how much I appreciated his services. I would highly recommend Tom with Worm Drywall and I've already referred him to friends and two neighbors and will not hestiate to call again for other needs. Thanks Tom....space is done and we are just waiting on baby now!!!!

Tom was excellent, very professional and everything was done to our liking and for a lot less than the competitors. Tom was great to work with. He was prompt at all appointments, and although he did not do the actual install or finish, he was onsite daily to check progress and quality of work. He also went out of his way to accommodate a very aggressive timeline (we wanted it done before company arrived just after Memorial Day). He also went out of his way to help fix some framing issues during the drywall install. I was at work when he called with the issues, and before I could have come home to fix them, he asked about a nail gun and spare lumber, and quickly addressed the problems and had the installers going again quickly! Troy, the finisher, was also great and offered to work over Memorial Day weekend because he knew we were anxious to have the project done. Overall great customer service, very fair pricing and top notch quality work.

Delivery of the drywall was very disappointing. The stairway to the basement is a little tight and posed some challenges. But the delivery guys marked-up the ceiling and scratched the walls while taking the drywall panels downstairs. Worm's team removed the marks from the ceiling and patched the walls. But now we need to repaint the walls to cover the marks and repair patches. The installation of the drywall and ceiling well very well. The installers were very professional and did a great job.

Tom (owner of Worm Drywall) returned my call to request an estimated promptly. He arrived and gave me a written estimated and we agreed that he had the job. He called me the next day with a date for the job. This was no easy job. My ceilings have beams and a very high peak in the middle. He repaired the damaged part of the ceiling, and painted the entire ceiling, that is the living room and kitchen. There was a lot of prep work with all those beams, and we also have an open stairwell that he had to work with. He also did our hall ceiling. I couldn't be happier with his work! The ceiling looks like new! He even patched some parts of the lower wall in my hallway that I didn't even mention to him, and wasn't in his bid. His final bill was lower than quoted - I have never had that happen before! I would give Tom's name and number to ANYONE who needed drywall work done - I don't think you find find anyone better!

Tom Worm, owner of Worm Drywall, promptly responded to our request for an estimate to drywall our basement. We selected a mutually agreeable time which was within 48 hours of my call. He arrived promptly for the appointment. He measured our basement carefully and discussed the project carefully with us. He provided a written estimate prior to leaving. Tom was totally professional. We obtained several other proposals and chose a different contractor based entirely on that contractor's ability to include prime painting as part of his proposal. We used used Angie's List to select highly rated contractors and were very pleased with all those we talked to.

I had new recessed lightning put in about 12 new cans - 6 in each room. Our electrician left about 10 cut outs and I had cracks in the ceilings. Tom and crew came in and gave me a very fare price for their excellent craftsmanship. Their work is very very good and professional. They arrived right on time, and completed the job earlier than anticipated. They were very professional and courteous through the whole job. They came in and out through our garage. Our door to the kitchen from the garage was always hard to close. We always had to push a little hard to get it to close and I would even use my shoulder to lock it. When Tom and his crew completed their work I was not home but when I came home through our garage I slammed the door like I do usually. I got a real SURPRISE my hard to close door had been FIXED!!!! Tom and his crew were so nice they fixed my door and left with a smile. I still slam the door but I am trying to tell my family Tom Worm and crew fixed our door. If you need someone of his profession you can't go wrong in hiring his firm. I would use them again even if they didn't fix my door. LOL I want to thank Tom and crew for going the extra mile without being asked. I will use them anytime i have needs for their services. Marc Alman

Worm Drywall came out to give a quote on a drywall taping/mud/texture job, which by itself was nice because some drywallers don't want to do jobs that involve homeowner hung drywall as it is never as pretty or good so it makes their job harder to tape it. However, Tom came out exactly when we said he would, to the minute, which was very nice! He was very professional, dressed nicely, and proceeded to measure the walls for the quote. He was nice to talk with, answering questions about who would actually be doing the work and when they could do it and everything else. He also promised he could get the job done by a deadline just a couple weeks away. He also complimented the drywall hanging job my brother and I had done, and I really appreciated that. That was compared to another quote we had where the guy essentially made fun of the job we had done (more screws than the pros would have done I guess?). The quote we received was also the lowest one, so we gladly accepted Worm Drywall?s quote. He asked for no payment until the job was done which was also reassuring. On the 1st day the work was to begin, Tom was at the house early (nice!) to drop off the equipment and go over the job with his employee who would be doing the actual work. That employee showed up shortly thereafter, and he was quickly off doing the work. The work took little time and the subsequent visit the a couple days later for the final coat and texturing went smoothly as well. It looked awesome! Now comes the interesting part! Everything had gone smoothly and the job was done, Worm Drywall was paid, and days later we were painting the room. After painting the ceiling on a Friday night, we discovered to our horror that it seemed the drywall tape had detached from some seams and was bubbling out. Just a horrible horrible feeling after finally getting our long delayed remodeling to a state where it didn?t seem totally like a construction zone anymore. So, the next morning (Saturday), I called Tom up to tell him that the tape had detached from some seams. He was surprised and very understanding and promised to come out right away (again, on a Saturday morning when he was at home with his family 30 miles away). He came out, took a look at it, and attempted to fix it with a syringe filled with an adhesive that he said sometimes worked to push the tape back up to the drywall. Unfortunately, a few minutes later it was clear that it didn?t work. So, the next painful to watch step was him cutting into our what was a day ago beautiful ceiling with a utility knife. What he then discovered is that it wasn?t the tape detaching from the seams at all, but the actual drywall paper detaching from the rock! Defective sheetrock! Where it had happened was actually about 2 inches away from the seam in the part of the sheet that slopes inward slightly where you end up taping. But it wasn?t the tape as that was clear when he showed us the sample he cut out?the tape was still tight to the paper but just a few inches away the paper was detached from the rock, evidently the result of defective sheetrock coupled with the moisture and weight of fresh paint. He seemed familiar with the problem, citing that it was an issue with some brands of sheetrock from time to time. So, even though this was no longer his responsibility as it was a couple sheets of bad sheetrock and he didn?t provide that or hang that, he still stepped up to make it right for free! That morning still, he cut out the few other spots that it had happened, applied some mud to the area to fill it out, and promised that he and his employee would be out on Monday or Tuesday to retexture it. That morning then, Tom showed up, got the area sanded and prepped, and his employee came and retextured those areas, doing an excellent job of blending the new textured area into the rest of the ?old? textured area. They cleaned up and left and we were once again left with a nice looking ceiling. Nearly a year later, the ceiling still looks great! I would not hesitate to call Worm Drywall for any future sheetrock needs, and I doubt I would even get a quote from anyone else.
Description of Work: Tape/Mud/Texture 1000+sqft surface area of drywall. I hung the drywall. He then fixed, for free, a problem that happened after he was done that was not related at all to the services he performed!

Tom's was responsive and bid quickly and clearly. The drywall was delivered on time and placed where it was least obstructive. The rockers showed up on time, dealt with the small but frequent oddities of the structure, and cleaned up their mess. The tapers arrived on schedule and did a wonderful job of all the corners, angles, stairs, and weird spaces. They also blew a knockdown ceiling everywhere. The sander showed on time, cleaned all the walls and vacuumed up the dust on the floors and in the corners. Tom came by frequently to assess the quality of the job and ascertain my concerns...and then address them!
