I had a service panel replaced along with new breakers. David was able to answer my questions about what service would be needed over the phone / email thanks to some photos I took - no estimate trip was required (unlike other electricians I contacted. They were available quickly and showed up right on time and took around the estimated amount of time. There were a few issues marked by the inspector that needed to be fixed. I have no problem with that - no safety issues, just a couple of additional things to bring up to code - but it took a very long while to hear back from David about when he could complete the work. It turns out he was unable to work for a while, but now that I've gotten in touch again - a year later - he came by and finished the work up to code and the inspection has passed. My low grade for responsiveness is due to this period when he did not return contact; the other times I got through to him initially and recently he has been fairly prompt at getting back to me.

Found Winkelman on craigslist, stating that "No Job too small", so I figured he was the guy for this small job. Called up Dave to set up an appointment at 2pm on April 4. He never showed up. The next day I called him and left a message, saying that we missed each other, but to call me back to reschedule. My house is going to be listed for sale soon, and the bathroom fan needs to be operational in order not to get flagged on the Truth in Housing report, so the sooner the better. I never heard back. Very unprofessional. Don't say no job is too small if you blow off your small jobs. *** update in response to the response below*** It was never tentative. It was for 2pm on April 4th. When I call up contractors to come do work for me, it's not so I can pencil them in and call them up a second time, especially for small jobs. Who operates like that? Why would there be an exact date and time set for a tentative appointment? It was firm, you had my address. I was cordial when I left you the message after you didn't show up. I've had missed appointment with contractors before, sometimes because of a miscomunication, sometimes because the contractor messed up, sometimes because I messed up. I'm always willing to give somebody the benefit of the doubt and actually have great working relationships with contractors who missed their first appointment with me. The fact that your plan of action is to simply ignore a customer who is dissatisfied speaks volumes. I'm not sure how you wouldn't expect a negative review on here after that.

Response from WINKELMAN ELECTRIC
[member name removed] contacted me about the fan. We set a tentative Appt several day later on the 4th of April. He was suppose to call to confirm before the appt.. He did not call. I did not go. He called the next day the 5th stating perhaps there was a misunderstanding could we please reschedule. I did not feel comfortable with his messege. It was not the first time a customer has cancelled without calling that is why I ask customers to please call and confirm an appt. if it is several days out so I don't waste my time and gas. It happens more than I prefer to remember. It had nothing to do with blowing him off because the job was small. Small jobs are my bread and butter. Bottom line is he did not call like I requested. So because he feels slighted he gave me a "F" for a review. So that makes me unprofessional......Kind of the pot calling the the kettle black . For me it is red flag when a customer does not follow through with simple requests. I have to rely on my gut intuition. Contractors do not have a resource like angie's list to weed out problem customers. Wish we did. I never met this guy and only spoke once. His review is based largely on an assumption.

Overall has always been a good experience. Dave gives details of what the project will require and other than unforeseen circumstancs stays on schedule.
Description of Work: Service is extreemly thorough and very professional every time. We have used Dave's services for many electrical projects over the past 3 years. Anything from installing a ceiling fan to solving our homes electrical nightmare. We would not use anyone else!

He was very helpful and has a lot of experience.
Description of Work: He helped me with an electrical rough-in of a new addition. We added two bedrooms and one bathroom upstairs to a home. He also replaced an electrical box. He left me with other projects, as well.
