Weld & Sons Plumbing

I had a leak in a water pipe in my basement, of course on a Saturday. I called two plumbers; the first charged double time on weekends; Weld charged 1 1/2 time. So, while expensive, I had to have the leak fixed. The plumber was there quickly, was very courteous, and gave me good advice on my pipes.

High quality work, cleaned up some past work that was sloppy and completed everything as promised. Price was okay, but higher than quoted. They showed up at the very last minute of their recommended time frame and stayed longer than expected, but again work was high quality.

We received a quick reply to our email request via Angie's List. Don Weld arrived on time to give us an estimate for the job. He even called to let me know he was on time and would arrive shortly. He quickly assessed the job and gave me some suggestions as to how we could improve our plan. Because of the small size of our job they were able to work us in quickly. Don gave me all the information I needed re finding and ordering the tub and fixtures. He also gave me his cell number and told me to call if I had any questions. Questions did arise and Don and his staff were able to walk me through the process (I had never don this before). The most impressive thing to me occured when we received the wrong tub due to clerical error at the plumbing supplier (not Weld and Sons) The problem was noticed before the tub was installed and the staff at Weld and Sons went above and beyond to get the correct tub ordered and rushed at no cost to us. The install was only set back one week and I received almost daily updates from Weld and Sons regarding what was happening and when the tub would arrive and be installed. We also added a new utility tub and faucet to the job and were given a discount for our trouble! The nicest thing was the guys who came to do the jobs were always on time, always called to let me know they were enroute, They were courteous and clean (shoes off in the house, swept up when they were done) and utmostly professional! I've told many people, "I love my plumber!" What could have been a huge deal became a minor inconvience!

He called before he came out and was very courteous. He came to the house and made sure to put shoe covers on so he didn't track any dirt in the house. He did this every time he came in and out of our home. He finished the work in a timely manner and did a great job. I would have them come again in a heartbeat.

Showed up on time, everything worked as it should. One important detail that was overlooked was fully turning on the main water shutoff back on after the work was completed. The water pressure in our house was low for several weeks after the work was performed. I asked Weld what was going, they came out and looked at the work... couldn't figure it out. The water pressure was still okay, so I think maybe they were skeptical about my claim the pressure was significantly less than before. After searching the internet I checked several of the basic things they suggested... sure enough the main water shutoff had not been fully turned back on. There was a very noticeable difference immediately. I was still happy with their work and customer service, and we were able to use everything in our house while the pressure was lower... it was just little annoying.

Our water heater was leaking from the top vent. I called them around 7:00 AM to see if they could swing by and take a look. They were able to come around 11:30 AM on the same day and switch out the tank for a new one within 2.5 hours. The best was that the ultimate bill was right on with what the dispatcher estimated, and it was a fair price compared to other quotes I received. Kevin, the plumber who did the work, was quick, efficient, helpful, and nice. I only give them a 'B' for price because it wasn't a great deal, but it was fair. I'm a tough grader.

Excellent. When I spoke on the phone the person understood our situation exactly and sent someone with the appropriate parts and tools at a fair price. Once here, Kevin did an additional small job with no hassle and, again, for a fair price. We're very pleased.

Excellent: great communication, they worked us in to their schedule on short notice for this "water on the floor emergency", talked through the options and potential costs upfront. We had tried to reseat the toilet and install new wax rings several times before ourselves, but it wasn't fixing the recurring problem. They fixed the cause of the problem, not just the symptoms that had kept coming back. And, overall the cost was slightly less than what they had told me over the phone that I might expect to have to pay for the work. We had one REALLY bad experience with another Angie's List plumber once before - word of advice: don't go on overall rating alone - an "A" rating may be based on good ratings from past years but current bad employees or bad management might be different: read the recent reviews! (and also realize, people with bad experiences may feel somewhat threatened and won't write a bad review for fear of backlash, as is our case). This company, Weld and Sons did excellent and renewed our faith in good people and good plumbers. Thank you!

Made initial call. Received prompt call back with quotes and scheduled service for the following day. Received time window. Previous job ran late, so arrived abit after the scheduled window, but not a problem since the work was completed the same day.

They quickly scheduled a time that worked for me. They called when they were on the way. Tim was professional and explained what was wrong and how he fixed it.

Weld scheduled service for morning after our call, arrived on time, & performed services requested professionally and courteously. Work involved re-routing of an existing natural gas line and installation of gas supply line & regulator to new outdoor grill. Highly recommend.

Don Weld was very responsive in giving us a quote and making recommendations. His office staff informed us of which products qualified for Stimulus Package Tax Credit and Gas Company rebates. We got a more energy efficient water heater, for the same price as just replacing our old one with a comparable model; and will benefit from the energy efficiency going forward. Installation was perfect, old unit removed, and area totally cleaned when finished. Couldn't be happier. We highly recommend Don Weld & Sons and will use in the future.

They came the same day we called. I watched the job as it was being done and was very impressed by the quality of the work and the professionalism that was demonstrated. I asked many questions and learned a lot from the answers. I was given exact rates ahead of time and was charged according to what I had been told. Given the amount of work done, I thought the price charged was very reasonable.

Everything went as planned. It was actually planned for one day but the clay they found made the digging much more difficult and it was very understandable that it took them the extra day. That did not change the original estimate.

Our shower suddenly developed a leak - we couldn't see where the water was coming from, but it turned out to be the valve. We called Weld and Sons on a Sunday and they sent someone out right away. He was very experienced, professional, and pleasant to work with. It took a while to find the leak, but he did find and fix it. I would use the same company again if I needed a plumber.

I may have spent $150 on that work and my experience with them was good. They were thorough and quick. They were polite, conscientious and did a good job.

We called on Sunday evening. He asked a number of questions and together we determined that it could wait until Monday. He called Monday morning when he said he would and was out that afternoon to fix the leak. He was professional, very nice to work with, prompt, the work is very well done. We're extremely happy and would definitely use them again.

It went perfectly.... saw them listed on Angie's list and called right away, they answered fast, clear precise and within a few hours my problem was resolved. VERY HAPPY!

They had to come out and pull the toilet and reset it. They usually put seals. This time they installed a kind of ceramic ring too. They are located near our place and are highly rated too. They came out really fast and came out the same day that I called them. They showed up on time. The person who came out was reasonable and friendly. He worked fast and explained what he was doing and why he was doing it. Weld & Sons were reasonably priced too. I was really pleased.
