Weld & Sons Plumbing

We've used Weld & Sons a few times in the past for similar work. The cost is reasonable, and we trust them to do a good job. In this case, they had to auger down 40 feet to completely fix the kitchen drain, which hasn't been cleaned in the nearly 20 years we've been in this house. They also replaced the trap and drains at the same time. The bathroom was simpler and went more quickly.

What started out as a small job turned in to a two day project once the shut off valves below and above the water meter no long would completely shut off the water. Manny did a very good job of fixing the problem once the city got the water shut off. Repaired the leak and replaced both valves. Would definitely use again.

We had a dripping bathtub faucet and needed an urgent repair. A plumber came and proposed to replace the whole valve and said he needed to cut the wall open to do the job. Then I called Weld and Sons Plumbing and Mark was extremely helpful. Based on the photo I sent, He estimated the issue can most likely be fixed by just changing the cartridge, which really gave me a peace of mind. They were already fully booked for the day, but Mark was able to send his faucet person to do the repair out of their busy schedule. And Zach fixed the problem right away by replacing the cartridge, without needing to cut the wall open and such. I was very satisfied with their service and grateful for their help.

Final price was twice that quoted. Estimate of time required, one hour, was doubled when very simple job was complete. bait and switch at its best. Final product was acceptable.

I contacted them through Angies List. They promptly provided a quote ($444). After comparing the quote with other quotes, I decided to hire them on a Wednesday night. They came the next day (Thursday) morning. First, they tested to make sure that the sump pump wasn't working for the wrong reasons (bad socket). Once they determined that it needed a replacement, they did the work in less time than they had estimated. They also suggested things we needed to be mindful of regarding the pump. The cost came to $389, $55 less than what we expected.

The job went very well. We had a rusted out leaking galvanized pipe in our basement. The technician came within the specified service window and quickly diagnosed the problem and had the section of pipe replaced within a half hour.

Service tech noticed the high number of repairs on the existing copper lines and recommended to switch out the copper lines with PEX. Worked efficiently and diligently. Absolutely recommend and will hire again.

Although the scheduling was 6 weeks from the initial call (and note that we had a broken line that was still functional that entire time), the plumbers arrived early on the scheduled day and were finished on the same day on the low side of the bid range that they had estimated. The new pipe had to cross the basement floor, but they were able to drill under the area that was least finished, and they poured cemented over the holes after they were finished.

They were prompt and very professional. I would use them in the future.

Very professional, reasonably priced and great job. We found our new go-to plumber. They were efficient and did not try to upsell, rather tried to understand what we needed and make sure we got the right appliances to fit our lifestyle and budget.

Our water heater stopped working Thursday evening and after a couple of attempts at getting the pilot light relight, I gave up and decided to call a pro. I sent an email that evening and then followed up with a call the next morning. It was Friday, so I wanted to make sure I could get on the schedule for the day. They said they were fairly full but that they would see what they could do. About an hour later they called back and said would be out in the early afternoon. Around noon I got the call and Kent was here shortly after. The existing unit was only 4 years old (installed by someone else) so I was thinking it would be a repair not a replacement. Unfortunately, there was corrosion in the area of the water feed line. Kent told me they had changed the code right around the time mine was installed because of this very problem and that the code now requires a dialectric fitting to prevent this. He was also really honest when he said in his experience that this issue was pretty rare. This corrosion was causing water to leak down the vent and into the combustion chamber. This was what caused the pilot light to go out and what was preventing the piezo-electric igniter from working. Needless to say, it had to be replaced. He gave me a couple of options on models/warranties and got started right away draining and removing the old one while their courier brought out the new one. Two hours later as we were up and running again. And not only that, but Kent noticed that the vent pipe was also not up to code and replaced that and brought everything up to code. This has been my past experience with Weld & Sons: they do quality work and make sure the job is done correctly, the first time. This why they were my first call for this and why they will be my first call the next time I need pluming services.

We have used Weld and Sons for all our plumbing needs over the past year. Every time we use them they are excellent. They get the job done quickly and their prices are very reasonable. Most recently we used their service to help unclog a shower drain. The plumber kept us updated through the whole process and ultimately fixed our shower.

I called Almost all the A rated plumbers. It wasn’t until I get to these guys that someone picked up immediately. I spoke with Vic and Clyde and they were both VERY helpful. After sending them some picture texts they determined it was a city provided component. In the end I didn’t need to contract them as the city replaced the broken part. I can’t say enough about a plumbing service that responds immediately on a Sunday afternoon. Put them on your speed dial. Highly recommended.

Weld & Sons came through in a pinch for a second time! I requested service on a Thursday for same-day or next-day service and, even though they were booked up, they took my number and said they would call me if anything opened up. Sure enough, first thing the next morning I got a call and they arrived a few hours later and were able to fix my toilet in 15 minutes. Top notch professionslism, communication, follow through, and service. I really appreciated the effort considering I had a house full of company for the weekend. The repairs were definitely pricier than I had hoped for, but considering the circumstances and the fact that no other plumbers responded to my RFQ, I was thrilled.

Scott did a great job replacing two outdoor faucets, both of which were leaking at different points. He arrived on time and surveyed the situation carefully. To do the front yard faucet, he needed to remove some of the siding and cut through the fiberboard behind it. Once he got to the pipe, the replacement went smoothly. Putting the siding back on also went well, since he was careful to remove it in such a way that it was not damaged. The access to the back-yard faucet required him to move the gas dryer out of the way. Once this was done, he showed me that the previous faucet was installed without the proper slope which caused water to pool and freeze in the winter. As he removed and replaced this faucet, he adjusted the angle of the pipe so that it would drain better. He also showed me how to bleed any water out of the pipe by using a bleed valve which was built into the shutoff valve. Moving everything back also went well. All the parts that he needed were on the truck, so no delays to find the right part. I've used Weld & Sons several years before and they always do a good job at a fair price. I'd recommend them to my friends.

Arrived on time, installed the four new toilets, broke up the old ones for trash removal, cleaned up after themselves, and left on time. No issues or complaints, no leaks, no call-backs.

I noticed a leak in the basement late on a Sunday night. I did my own efforts to stop the leak and trouble shoot the general location to a pipe running to the 2nd floor. Not something I wanted to tackle on my own. I called Monday morning, described the issue, and waited for a call back. Someone returned my call shortly thereafter and asked what my availability was and the would check to see who was available and when. I did indicate that this was not an emergency, but fixing it sooner than later was desired. A couple hours later, someone called and said they could be at my place in about 15mins. I was able to meet them. They were prompt and friendly. They assessed the situation with me and presented a plan. Give that the pipe was in a wall and unknown location, they began selective demo, but smartly. We ended up with two modest openings in the ceiling and wall and located the leak on the first try. This was good, because I had expected to take down much more of the wall. Leak identified, they proceeded to remove the offending piece of pipe and install a new run (pex) from the basement to the 2nd floor. They cleaned up everything and were very efficient with their time and materials. Now, I just need to patch the plaster walls and ceilings. Since the water was off and they were here, I had them replace a stuck house side main valve. The cost of this is included in the amount below and is about 20% of the total cost. The remainder was for the leaky pipe replacement.
