Clyde was highly professional, explained exactly what he was doing. Worked quickly on the problem. Great example of ethical professional: he told me that he would have to examine the dip tube in the heater which would take at least an hour as the final fix to the water pressure problem. I told him to go ahead, then he came up five minutes later and told me that the heater was still under warranty and that I should save my money and call the Home service plus plumbing firm that put it in originally. He could easily have gone ahead, done the work and billed me and I would never have known the difference. QUALITY PLUMBER!

I initially called Weld and Sons to get a quote for how much it would cost to move our laundry (washer and dryer) to the basement utility room from the mud room on the main level (as well as install a laundry tub down there). They followed up quickly via phone to schedule the visit for the quote. Don Weld Jr. came to our house for the quote. He was very personable and understood what I was trying to do. He pointed out the difficulties of the job (mainly due to how our house was built and the absence of a drain vent in our basement), and said he would email me a quote in a day or two. His office assistant, Michelle, called two days later to get my email and she then forwarded the quote. Since the job would have required ripping into a wall in the kitchen on the main level to tie into a vent, and since it required relocating a laundry vent in an odd spot, plus just doing the other piping, the quote came in at ~$2500. By this time I expected it to be in that range and so I wasn't surprised, but we could not afford that at this time. I asked if they could just do the water softener bypass as well as replace the valves in our current laundry room. Michelle forwarded this request to Don and she got back to me pretty quickly that the quote would be: $70 service call, plus $120/hour and materials. I agreed to that and their scheduler called me later in the day. They wanted to use their guy who specializes in water softeners (Kevin), so the appt. was scheduled for the following Tuesday when he was available. I appreciated that they gave me a call on Friday to remind me, and then Kevin called Monday morning to let me know he was on his way (on time). I had drawn a diagram for where I wanted the bypass valve and explained the laundry room situation. Kevin understood and got to work quickly. He was very professional and courteous, as well as neat, and the work (soldering) looks top notch. A+ overall service. The communicated efficiently and professionally, and the job was done with high quality. The rates seemed reasonable for plumbing work. I would definitely use Weld and Sons again!

Jobe well done. We used Weld & Sons to do the entire bath remodel, rather than just a plumbing. They subcontract with a guy by the name of Russ who is EXCELLENT (A++). Russ is very reliable, trustworthy a good communicator and an expert craftsman. We would definitely hire him again. The plumbers at Weld & Son were also very timely and efficient. We had a couple minor issues (like a water diverter that was installed backgrounds and a volume control that was installed incorrectly), however they came back out and were able to fix the most of the issues. We also had to have them come back after a couple weeks to fix a clogged drain. Our drain in our old bathroom was very slow so we had asked them to be sure to check the drain pipe when the walls were torn out. They said they did and it was fine, but apparently that was not the case. Two weeks later it was clogged - frustrating for a brand new bathroom, so we of course called them. They are very professional and came quickly to clean it. We're hopeful this is not a chronic problem that could have been easily solved with a new draing pipe - if so, we'll lower our rating. As for the rest of the remodel (extensive marble tile, new door install, minor electrical, and framing), this was top notch - thanks in large part to the expert workmanship from Russ.

They returned my call within minutes, asked questions to better understand the nature of the problem, made some suggestions about water usage until they could fix the problem and said a plumber would arrive between 1 and 4 pm. I got a phone call around the middle of that time slot from the plumber, Ben Pullis. He said he was on his way and asked more questions to better understand our needs. He arrived when he said he would and got right to work. He had the problem diagnosed and fixed within the hour. He was kind and patient enough to positively respond to my, "Oh, by the way, as long as you are here, could you take a look at my slow bathroom sink, too?" request. All was fixed to my relief and satisfaction. I even got an Angie's List discount.

Before the service provider came out I was able to talk to the owner. He assured me they could do they job. He gave me specific answers to my questions. He and the plumber who came out to do the job were very professional and answered questions. They job they did was excellent. I would not hesitate to call them again.

He was very prompt and efficient. We had a clogged drain in the garage and they came in and in about an hour, he had it unclogged by using a professional snake. This saved us from having to have the floor torn up and who knows what else, to have it fixed. We are very grateful. He did a fabulous job. Thanks!

After having a horrible experience with the gas company earlier the same morning, I called Weld & Sons to have a leaky gas line checked and fixed. It was Saturday so they were closed, but I arranged for after-hours service. Clyde arrived within a couple hours, listened to the problem, surveyed the situation, and quickly resolved all the problems (plus some) just as requested. Professional, friendly, and efficient.

Weld & Sons have always done a great job with every project we've hired them to do. Their prices are reasonable and the work has been top quality. I particularly recommend Kevin, whose done most of the work in our house. He's polite, friendly, always punctual, is willing to explain everything he's doing, and cleans up after himself.

Drain clog cleared successfully by the plumber! We live in a home constructed in the late 1940's so the plumbing is in need of updating. That said, Ben, the able plumber from Weld and Sons, quickly got to work on the sink and within minutes had accomplished the task. I had tried to fix it myself by removing the trap pipe and later using a baking soda/warm vinegar solution, but the clog was too advanced for this to work. Ben had to root out the line further down than I could get to without specialized equipment. Ben was very personable and had updated me during the day as to when he would arrive. Keeping the customer in the loop is always appreciated. As Ben was leaving we chanced to discover that I was a coworker with his fine wife at a popular local retailer. I also work with his mother-in-law! They are all terrific people and parents so this was yet another plus which makes it even easier to recommend Weld and Sons! This is a small world after all!

Outstanding experience. Weld &Sons was on time, professional, courteous, understood what I was talking about... Mark showed up on time to give the estimate, was courteous, listened to what I was needing, and the estimate was very reasonable (I got three, all from highly rated local plumbers on Angies list). Michelle at the office was responsive to questions and Don Weld was great at giving me a pricing breakdown of different pieces of the work (remove and replace the tub, replace the faucet, replace the hose connectors). The plumber was on time to make the repairs, and --- wow! When I got home, and went straight downstairs to take a look, and it was almost like no one had been there --- in a good way! Nicely installed, and so CLEAN. No evidence of the old tub, and he had clearly cleaned up and swept. The new tub and faucet and connections work great... I have already recommended Weld to two friends.

He was thorough and knowledgeable. Other plumbers had come and done more damage than good without fixing the problem. The man from Weld made an accurate assessment and completed the needed repair well within the hour.

Outside faucet was leaking. Shut-off valve was old and needed replacing. Called Weld and they scheduled for the day after the 4th. They adjusted their schedule to work around an appointment that we had. Nate called ahead and arrived when he said he would. He was smart, efficient and fully understood what we wanted to do. He used the valves that we provided and consulted with us as he proceeded with the job. Would recommend them to anyone.

On time, knowledgeable and professional

We have worked with Weld and Sons since purchasing our home in 2001. They are consistently an excellent company to work with. We have a complicated system of floor drains and very long run out to the street, and we are pro-active about keeping these snaked out. Their prices are fair, and they give us recommendations about what to do but also what we don't need to do. We've also had Weld do other work on kitchen and bathtub faucets. And they rebuilt a toilet for us (a corner toilet, expensive to replace but well worth doing a full rebuild). They get back to quickly when you call, schedule someone promptly, and have skilled plumbers. We like working with companies where the owner is actively involved, and this is the case here. The other day, Don Weld himself called us back to discuss our concerns with our basement sump pump. We have valued the professionalism and honesty of Weld and Sons for all these years and would never think to use any other plumbing company!

Overall were very pleased w/ the service that was provided. Found the company to be very easy to work w/, scheduling was easy (and fast), and the plumber who came to our home (Clyde) was very knowledgeable and thoroughly answered questions. Clyde was focused in his work, respectful of our house, and thorough in his work. We will definitely call them again for future plumbing/drain needs.

I was extremely happy with the service. The individual who performed the work (Kevin) was punctual and professional. I particularly appreciated his good communication, showing me where the cracks were and talking through the repair work that needed to be done. I also thought the cost was very reasonable. The plumber arrived on time, maybe even a bit earlier than scheduled. He was very professional and listened to my concerns. He started working right away. He cleaned up after himself. He finished the projects in a timely manner.

We had water damage in our basement and I was concerned that the sump pump was not working correctly afterwards. We have never had a house with sump pump before, so I felt a bit out of my depth regarding what questions to ask and what to expect. I chose Weld & Sons because they are a local, family-owned business and I sensed that would be helpful due to our lack of previous experience with these types of repairs. I was not disappointed. I called Weld & Sons on a Tuesday mid-day and spoke with the woman who answered the phone - she was friendly and patient as I explained our situation. She took down my information and within 30 minutes I had a call back from Mark to schedule service. We set up an appointment for the next morning between 9 and 11. While on the phone, he answered all of my questions and outlined expected costs up front (service call charge, rate per hour, cost of a pump, average time to install one, etc). The plumber called before coming over, just before 10 am, and arrived at 10:15. He looked over our setup and determined that the pump was not working correctly and that the drain pipe outside needed replacing. These were both expected results, so we discussed what it would take to replace those items. Again, he outlined all the expected costs, being sure to include the small bits of miscellaneous parts that would be needed to complete the job. The work was completed within 1.5 hours, and he cleaned up all the areas he used before he left. After completion, he showed me all the parts and explained what other maintenance steps we can take to care for our new pump. The price was right what we expected from doing the rough math earlier and I was able to keep our pump, in case we need it for the insurance claim. The whole team at Weld & Sons was professional and respectful. They were clear and direct, and I never felt like they were pushing an agenda. They listened to my questions and answered all of them, making sure I had understood things at each step. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing plumbing work done in the northwest metro. I am keeping their magnet on our fridge for future work.

The first time they came out on Friday 6/14 they snaked the drain and it opened up and I thought my problems were done. Then on Sunday I experienced issues again. I called on Monday morning and they came right out re-staked the line with a larger bit and everything has worked great since. Even though the first visit did not solve the issue the way they handled the problem impressed me and I am a happy customer and will call them again in the future.

Ben was on time and went fast to work. Excellent experience overall - starting with the phone receptionist Kirsten to Ben clearing our drain. I have asked Don to provide me an estimate for replacing the shower as well.

The plumber, Nate, was very professional and friendly. He arrived on time. He told me how he was going to make the repair and then got right to it. It took him less than an hour. He finished the repair and cleaned up the area nicer than it was when he arrived. The repair looks great and we have water again. No complaints. Everything went better than I expected.

All faucets initially had slow leaks. I contacted Weld and Sons Plumbing to request an appointment. They were busy enough that it the appointment was scheduled for the following week. I received an appointment confirmation call the day before and their technician did arrive within the time window provided. The tub faucets are quite old and I had already had them looked at in the past by another plumber. Since that repair did not last they needed to be addressed again. This technician performed a more through job of repairing the leak as well as explained the condition of the faucets and what my options would be for complete replacement in the future. The one outside faucet was replaced instead of just changing washers since that would allow for easier access.
