Weld & Sons Plumbing

Nearly perfect. They were prompt in taking care of everything. Additional necessary work was identified and they suggested I do the work instead of doing it themselves which I very much appreciated. I will certainly be using them again in the future. They were fantastic to work with. The only negative was that the city inspector found something "common sense" that Weld and Sons didn't identify in their inspection. This wasn't a big deal. I just took care of it myself. This is the only reason I gave them 4/5 stars on quality.

It was a well done job and the pipes aren't hitting a draft anymore. It was a RESCUE. He was marvelous. He's done a lot of things beyond plumbing - just general items to help the house.

My kitchen sick would not drain and I thought that it was clogged. I also notice that there was what looked like a small leak coming from the pipe into our basement. I contacted another plumbing company that I had used in the past but they were not available in the immediate future to come out and fix the problem. So they recommended that I contact Weld & Son to see if they could come out to help sooner. They were and the come out the next day. After trying to unclog the drain, it was quickly discovered that the line was leaking from four of the cast iron fittings, one of which blew while they were trying to unclog the pipe (the good news on that was that it bust into our basement shower, so all the black cruddy stuff ended up being pretty easy to clean up!). So ultimately, they had to just replace the whole cast iron pipe with a new plastic one from the sink to the stack. They did end up cutting open the wall under my sink and putting a small hole in the back of that wall that can be seen in a closet on the other side. However, they managed to replace the whole pipe without doing a single bit of damaged to my finished basement's walls or ceiling, which I was much more concerned about. Both Tim and Ben were great, especially Tim who said that he normally didn't do calls anymore and ended up going from just trying to fix a clogged sink to replacing an entire pipe.

Went Great, Ben Pullis did a great job getting 2 lines cleared out. We also had him clean the main line since we never did it and have no idea when it was ever done. For peace of mind he recommended a camera inspection since we never had it done either. Thankfully it was all clear and in good condition. Very professional and good job....

My kitchen faucet had a persistent, bad drip. They replaced it and fixed a small leak they found. I've used Weld & Sons in the past couple of years with great results. The results in this case were, once again, excellent. They are professionals -- punctual, neat, courteous, and efficient.

I am so glad I called Weld & Sons. I had already had two other plumbing companies come out and fail to fix the leaky pipe: one told me it would cost $1,000 to fix and in addition said they would have to tear out the entire hallway wall! So I joined Angie's List and did my research (I should have done my research before, but I'm a first-time homeowner, just since October, and didn't have a clue). I called a number of top-rated plumbers, and Weld & Sons was the first to get back to me. They sent Ben, who was professional, courteous, and conscientious about explaining the problems and the fixes. He diagnosed a two-part problem: one, a simple thing: a valve had been loosened along the pipe under the bathroom sink, causing it to leak. He tightened that. Two, rather than tear out the hallway wall, he would need to make a small hole in the wall inside/underneath the vanity, get in there and cut out the ill-fitting coupling that was leaking into the basement, and replace it. He put back the little piece he cut out, and since it's all concealed under the vanity anyway, no need for any repainting or anything on my end. All this he did--and he cleared a blocked drain in a bathroom that probably hadn't been used in a long while too--for under $300. I am so happy that I called Weld & Sons and would call them again for anything in a heartbeat.

I discovered the leaky pipe on Sunday, and was able to call their off-hours number and speak to someone to get advice and schedule service for the next morning. They fit me into their schedule and the plumber was very knowledgeable, professional, explained what needed to be done, and went to work quickly. The repair was completed within an hour, and he cleaned up nicely after himself. Will definitely use them again!

My interaction with them was great. The guy was very nice and took care of everything. The work was perfect. The cost was a little more expensive.

Ben Pullis was prompt, courteous and profession. He unclogged the sink, explained exactly went wrong and gave my husband some pointers on keeping it from happening again. We were very pleased with the service and will definitely be using them again.

I left a message on a Sunday evening. First thing Monday morning they contacted me to set up a service time. They were able to work me into their schedule that morning. They arrived promptly. They were extremely professional and the work was done quickly.

Weld and Sons did a great job getting back to me and setting up an immediate appointment. They were able to identify and fix the issue in around 20 minutes and did a great job ensuring the issue was completely resolved. The only reason they got a B on price was because they have a minimum charge of 1 hour plus a $70 service fee which is a lot for only 20 minutes of work. I would call them again for any plumbing needs. Very professional.

It went great. He was very helpful and actually showed me the problem and how I could fix it on my own in the future. He was only here for about 30 min and it cost me $200, which was my only complaint. In their defense, they walked me through the pricing when i asked him to come over, so it wasn't like i didn't know it would be expensive.

Weld & Sons was the general contractor for our bathroom remodel. They coordinated everything and they were extremely responsive. Russ did excellent work gutting our bathroom and tiling the floor, walls, and ceiling above the shower. We have a dormer in the bathroom that made matching rows of tiling a challenge and Russ did it perfectly. Our remodel actually came in under budget. We are extremely pleased with the work and would wholeheartedly recommend Weld and Sons' services.

These people are awesome. I discovered the ceiling leaking in my downstairs bathroom early this morning (fortunately it's a drop tile ceiling), and then also discovered more leaking over by the furnace. Also had a problem with the toilet upstairs. Called them right away and within a couple hours Clyde was here. He fixed the toilet problem first, and determined the leak was on the shut-off valve behind the upstairs shower. He had to take out a couple shelves in the closet and the panel behind the shower to replace both the hot and cold valve. He also showed me how to turn the water off for the whole house. It's amazing how much water there is from just a small leak like this. I am so fortunate I found this right away. I've used Weld & Sons several times for a bunch of different issues and would highly recommend them.

we had a weekend-emergency. corroded pipe in the wall that was leaking. made an emergency call to Weld & sons and Danshowed up 1.5 hours later. it was about a 3 hour job but we got the pipe replaced and no issues since. very clean operations (as clean as taking down some drywall can be), very considerate of costs (let us make the decision of temp fix now and come back later vs. complete fix now) and kept us up-to-date. Dan definitely minimized the stress of this weekend leak.

Ben Pullis did a great job and very quickly fixed the issue with our drains. He left everything clean and he is a very nice guy. I would definitively call them again if needed in the future.

I've used this provider probably four times. The first two I was very pleased. The last two I feel I've been treated unfairly on time and billing. These were small jobs and didn't involve large sums but I felt they padded the bill. I believe I dealt with one of the owners or at least a family member the first time and I thought I'd found the plumber I would always use. The first disappointment came when I called with a clog in a bathroom drain. I had been quoted a price in advance, good as long as it didn't take over a certain time period. The tech showed up and I explained the problem. The clog was in the bathroom and I don't remember if it was the tub or sink that was clogged. After I explained the issue the tech started on the functioning unclogged drain. When I asked why he said he thought he could get it from that location. Turns out he couldn't, and then went to the actual clogged drain. The whole job took well under the time allotted for the quoted price yet he handed me a bill over the quoted price. When I questioned the price his explanation was that since he went into two drains it would cost more. I decided not to argue, pay the bill and never use them again. I've since found a plumber that I like very well and have used on numerous occasions. I recently called Weld for another job because I had a leak and my preferred provider could not come out right away and I decided to give Weld another chance hoping I'd have an experience like I did on the first two occasions. I did not. This is a rental property, I don't live there and I explained that they would need to call me thirty minutes ahead so I could meet them. They agreed. To start they called me from the property so they had to wait for someone to let them in. I felt the whole job should have taken maybe 30 minutes. It was really a simple job. I would've done it myself except the cartridge (like a fancy washer) for the lav needs to be bought from a plumbing supply store...you can't pick these up at Home Depot and the only one that serves the public is not open on weekends or evenings so I'd have to take off of work. It turns out the guy from Weld brought the wrong part and had to wait while someone else brought him the right part. When I got the bill it was for 75 minutes...not grand larceny but the only way they could've taken that much time is if they charged me for their wait time. I will say the actual plumbing work was fine.
