Exterior Faucet Repair: Kevin promptly arrived in a clean, unadorned, new-looking cargo van (not even any company insignia on the curbside of the van that I saw) for my scheduled Thursday morning appointment of 7:30am. He recognized that the (broken) exterior spigot attached to my house was a commercial-type of mechanism which was unnecessary. After explaining that my option for an exact replacement would end up being more costly (ordering parts, waiting days to receive parts, and so on), he let me know that ultimately it was my choice to decide whether-or-not to continue with this same-day fix as planned. I wanted this fixed today, so onward we went! He installed an appropriate residential-type, frost-free spigot in place of the broken one. In the mechanical room, the water turn-off handle which controls the water flow to this pipe was discovered to be broken as well. Kevin was prepared to fix that at the same time, and did so quickly after communicating the issue with me (I was on site). By 9am, Kevin was done! There was no mess, only one 3 inch-by-3 inch section of interior drywall was left for me to patch--which is now just a new access door (he had to access the pipe from the inside of the house, which meant cutting into the wall that the pipe traveled through). He had to make several trips through my split level home, including being aware of 3 curious indoor cats which I did not crate. The cats could not be left to wander out of the house nor into the mechanical room--which also has a tricky door that doesn't shut tightly--and there were no problems with any of this. Setting the initial appointment was easy and the receptionist was very curteous and easy to understand. I recieved a reminder call the afternoon prior to my appointment time, which is greatly appreciated! On the day-of, Kevin also called within half-an-hour of his arrival time to give me his ETA.The communication with this company is great! I recieved $10 off my bill for being an Angie's List subscriber. I will be doing all my plumbing business with this company from now on because I appreciate everyone's ability to communicate clearly. I also appreciate Kevin's ability to dodge cats, and to not leave a mess.Thank you!

Called them, came out about 5 days later. They called before they came, fixed problem. Cleaned up. They did look at a problem in the bathroom and fixed that too. They are billing us. Took about 2 1/2 hours to do all the work. They referred us to another person to repair ceiling where he had to cut a hole to repair. This person has not responded yet. Guess I'll call him back today.

It went very well. Weld offered to send a plumber out immediately if it was time sensitive (it wasn't). The plumber arrived on time. He figured out the problem, fixed it, and was on his way within half an hour. He was very professional and pointed out some things we could do differently that would save us money (and was not a sales pitch for more work :)). I would highly recommend Weld based on this as well as previous work by them.

Housing inspector said we needed to clean the floor drain trap. We had one drain guy come, and he was unsuccessful. Ben of Weld and Sons cleaned it out in about half and hour and saved us about 500 dollars in replacing the drain.

The 2 gentlemen from Weld & Son who replaced the plumbing were great! Friendly and professional. They were prompt and everything went smoothly. The St Paul inspector complemented their work and the materials they used. The water pressure is just as it should be and not a single little leak after all that work. Office staff is friendly and helpful. so glad I had the work done! Thank you Weld & Son.

Did an excellent job. Explained what he was doing and what could happen if anything went wrong, which it did not, and proceeded to correct the problem.

It was a good experience. We had a hard working individual that came out. He was very prompt, and courteous. He came out and cleared four drains. While he was here, I mentioned the one of the faucets in our home (the cold water) was not working correctly. We had a new faucet installed a while ago, and it's hasn't worked properly. I showed this to service man, and he went out to his truck came to get some tools, noticed that the lines weren't installed property, and he installed them correctly. He went above and beyond the call of duty. There was no extra charge to fix the faucet, and no hesitation. We really appreciate that. It was a great experience.

Kevin from Weld & Sons Plumbing gets A+ in every category. He replaced a 40 yr old shower faucet cartridge; did maintenance cleaning on the water softener, Installed new outside water faucet (which involved running pipe 20 feet through crawl space. Price $500. That's half of what I payed my last plumber, for less work!

Clyde was professional and knowledgeable about everything he did. I very much so appreciated the work performed and am thankful I called Weld & Sons.

Clyde was great! He noticed that the last plumber put in the wrong flapper and he shaved the flush valve gasket so there would be a better seal. He also cleaned our bathroom sink drains. He was very good about communicating what he would be doing and explaining the work he did. Thank you, Clyde!

Couldn't be more impressed. Called them at 7:30AM and they were at our house by 12:30. We got the coupon via Angie's List and they were amazing. Courteous, thorough and they checked out all the other drains in the house to make sure there wasn't a larger draining issue at hand. We've used other great folks on here for plumbing, but they will now be our #1. Love, love, love them!

We were so pleased with Weld & Sons and will definitely use them again. On the phone they were friendly and helpful. The plumber arrived quickly, assessed the situation and provided solutions. He was also willing to answer questions we had about different plumbing decisions we are making.

Don Weld Jr. came out to the house to listen to me and my needs and come up with a quote for the work I need. He was extremely friendly, personable, knowledgeable, and supportive of me while he listened to me and later as he developed the quote for a number of things that I had presented to him that needed to be done. I got quotes from two additional plumbing companies but ended up deciding to hire Weld & Sons. I'm sorry that I don't remember or have record of the names of the gentlemen who came out to the house to the work but they were both very polite and the lead plumber was quick to answer any question that I had. The two worked in my house over 2 days, working around the frame for the rough-in. There was an incredible amount of dust and I asked both the lead plumber and Mr. Weld about it, wondering why they didn't cordon off some space to decrease the spread of dust throughout so much of the house. I was told that there was a significant amount more concrete that needed to be taken out than either of them expected and that they worked my job the same as they do all others. They did take up quite a bit of concrete! But apparently it needed to be done. They continued to be very polite and answer any question that I asked. They completed the rough-in (chopping out concrete and setting new plumbing, the setting for the toilet, the hook-ups for the vanity sink, and setting and hooking up the shower surround. Granted, they may have left a coat of dust over the majority of my house but they completed all of the work that they were contracted to do and their pleasantness and professionalism made it all worthwhile. When I spoke to Don Weld Jr. after the work was complete, he was understanding and offered me a discount due to the added dust I endured. :) I was left quite pleased. I would definitely hire them again and would recommend their work to others. Thorough, pleasant, willing to teach, willing to please, extremely proficient in what they were contracted to do.

I called at 9:30 am, they were full but put me on a wait list and clearly explained their rates. I got a call back in one hour as they had an opening, and the plumber was here before 11 am. He was professional, courteous and fast and explained what he did. The price was fair and I would have them back again.

Really well. I contacted them via Angiles List site last Friday to see about how much it would be to replace the drain - tiem and money. Their rough estimate was in line with another I got and they were able to work me into the schedule today - Monday. That was awesome! I really wanted to get this done and they made it happen. Ben called before he arrived to let me know he was on the way. We walked thru the job, he said he'd let me know the condition of the pipe when he broke thru the concrete - if it was bad it would take longer & cost more. Then he got right to work. He warned me the jack hammer would be really loud and said he had some ear plugs if I needed them. It was fine. He was done with the jack hammer really fast. Luckily the pipe itself was fine and he put in a new floor drain, put in a backflow preventer too. He cleaned the area up, put in the new concrete and was done in about 2 hours. Would definitely use again...as a matter of fact they're coming out next week to give me a quote on more work.

The repairs were done quickly and efficiently. The technician explained that the garbage disposal was rusting and needed to be replaced. When the install was completed, he showed me how to reset the circuit breaker and how to dislodge food or other items should anything get stuck in the disposal. Clyde, the technician was professional and thorough. He even cleaned the screen on my kitchen faucet as he noticed the flow seemed a little slow. I would definitely use Weld and Sons Plumbing again and will refer them to friends and family.

We expected a major project and repair bill through the roof. We were contacted the day after we put in a message to the provider. Mark from Weld and Sons contacted us via e-mail and scheduled the appointment for the following Monday between 9 and 11 am. He advised us of pricing and requested pictures of the valves in question for identification purposes. The plumbing technician (Kevin) called us at 9am on Monday and advised he would be at our home in 20 minutes. Kevin showed up precisely 20 minutes later. He completed the job in about 30 minutes. He had specialized tools to extract the seized cartridges. He brought the new cartridges with him. Kevin advised us that he has replaced at least 500 of these valves. The job could not have gone smoother and I could not be more pleased. I had contemplated doing the job myself but after reviewing information on the internet as well as videos posted on You Tube I thought better of it since the project could become quite involved without special tools and the experience in using them. After Kevin finished he asked if there was anything else he could look at for us. Kevin was extremely professsional, friendly and a pleasure to do business with. I would highly recommend this company. As an aside Kevin advised that valves of this type need to be used. So, a word to the wise: turn them on and off at least once a month.

Arrived on time. Called ahead of time. Provided one-day service which was very much appreciated since the discovery of the cracked water pipe occurred on an inspection of my home. I sold the house, but this pipe needed to be fixed before the home-buying process could continue, so time was very important. Very personable, explained everything, kept me informed throughout the 1-hour repair. Excellent job and will use again.

He was a real nice guy and it took him 2-3 hours. We were real pleased. He fixed my bathroom sink as well.

Toilet became totally clogged on Easter Sunday. I called 7:00 a.m. on Monday morning and they scheduled an appointment immediately. Since I had a commitment over the noon hour, they told me they'd be here between 1:00-4:00 in that afternoon. I called back after 12:30 to see if they could narrow the window and the person who answered the phone was happy to check with the assigned plumber and get back to me. I also received a phone call when the plumber was on his way. Upon arrival, Ben P. removed his shoes w/o asking whether it was necessary. His augers were wrapped in a clean, cloth case. Ben was efficient and friendly, asking pertinent questions to be sure that clearing the clog was all that would needed to be done and there was no foreign object that needed to be fished out of the system. The two office staff and the plumber were all friendly, competent and efficient. They offered the Angie's discount as soon as I mentioned I was a member, and the amount quoted over the phone was what I was charged. Thank you!

Ben arrived on time and was very professional. He seemed a little take back by me mentioning the other things I wanted done, other then the initial Garbage disposal install, but took it all in stride. He was very professional and worked very methotically. Showed me what was done, and the reasons things were setup the way they were. He was easy to talk with, and I felt totally comfortable with him and his work.

We had an emergency with wet carpet caused by a plugged floor drain in our basement. The plumber came out that morning and cleared the drain so the water will not overflow again. He also gave me some tips on how to keep it clean and check it in the future.
