Late in 2014 we had Don out to our home to meet with us about what we were wanting to do for our basement bathroom. He was on time, polite and extremely helpful. He offered several additional ideas for how we could re-arrange our layout of the bathroom. We liked some of his ideas so much we decided to move forward with a couple of them. We informed him that we wanted to do as much of the work ourselves as we could manage and he was more than accommodating. Due to the availability of funds and our own progress on the framing of the bathroom, we didn't end up having them come out to do any work until September of 2015. Calling to schedule the work was no problem though. It was as simple as a phone call to verify that the quoted price was still valid, faxing in the approval of work and scheduling a time for the team to come out and do the work. The team of two (Marcus and Matt) arrived on time and were so tremendously helpful. Their work was efficient, clean (plastic tarps were put up all around, drop cloths laid out on carpet, etc) and they never hesitated when we barraged them with questions. They took the time, every time, to stop and answer our questions thoroughly. They didn't object to us checking in on their progress and taking pictures as they went. The first day was spend breaking apart the floor concrete to expose the main sewer line and to lay the pipe for the drainage and venting of the toilet, shower and vanity. The inspector was all lined up for later in the afternoon and everything passed without issue. Once all the work was approved by the city, they connected and glued all the pipes. The second day (half day really) was spent wrapping things up and pouring the concrete over the exposed piping. We also opted to have a custom shower pan poured for the shower. Originally, the carpenter (Russ) was scheduled to arrive that following Wednesday but we discovered we had some additional framing to complete. A quick call to their office scheduling and we were easily able to push the arrival of the carpenter out by a week so we could finish the framing. Russ arrived on time as well and was also more than happy to work with us and answer our questions. He mixed all the concrete for the shower pan outside and left no mess whatsoever. He was happy to walk us through his process and was very accommodating. We were planning on doing the water supply ourselves but honestly our experience with Weld was so positive that we're planning on hiring them to run the water supply lines too.

Having the dishwasher uninstalled went well-- The repair man was prompt, professional and pleasant. I was rather surprised I was billed for a full hour of service plus a service fee for a job that only took 15 minutes. I was told by the service man that they bill based on a full hour, despite when I called for a quote I was told they would only bill for the time they were there. Instead I got a bill for 188$ When it came time to reinstall it- the guy that came to our house seemed like he didn't know what he was doing. He repeatedly had to go back to his truck and took forever when he was out there. I had to help him move the dishwasher as he said his back was sore from "lifting too many toilets". Overall it took him 1 hour and 30 minutes to reinstall our dishwasher. No repairs nothing like just, just purely to reconnect it. Our dishwasher is only a year old. Unforutnately we've had to had it serviced as it leaked but a service call to uninstall, look for the problem, fix it and reconnect has never taken that long. When he finished he handed me a bill for 268$. I said that was rather high for a simple procedure given he spent most of the time in his truck-- his response was 'yep, its expensive.'. Overall, I would not recommend this company. They quote you one way of pricing yet charge another way and take an exceptionally long time to get the job done (and bill by the hour).

Response from Weld & Sons Plumbing
When a new customer calls in we give our rates and explain we have a service call, and a one hour minimum, with anything after the first hour being billed by the quarter hour. We apologize for any misunderstanding, but this is why we have the policy of explaining the rates ahead of time to avoid any confusion.

Very well. They went above and beyond to help, When the insurance company wanted pictures of the broken pipe they were able to get the pipe and send me pictures the day after the repair. I will be using them again for all of plumbing needs.

It went great!!! They were very friendly and helpful when I spoke to them on the phone. I had to make a last minute appointment change and she was very nice about it and accommodated my tricky schedule. Our provider was Ben Pullis and he called before he came and was very friendly, professional and efficient. He knew just what to do and did the job quickly without making a mess. I was also very pleased with the price. I would absolutely use them again!

My toilet was running and would not stop. It was "bubbling up" in a way that I have never seen. I called the 24-hour number and spoke to Vic who patiently walked me through a series of questions. We figured out how to fix it over the phone and I was SO appreciative! Vic was fantastic. We have used Weld & Sons before and will do so again in the future! Thank you!!!!

The repair job went excellent. The overall repair took less than an hour. I was so happy with the quick response from initial conversation. I sent pictures of the faucets so the plumber knew what to expect., We arranged a time after a few email conversations. He was right on time and had even called a couple of times prior to coming so I would know to expect him. He was very friendly, professional, and courteous. I would highly recommend!

One of the plumbers came by and knew exactly what the problem likely was (based on my description over the phone) and what access he needed in order to get the job done. He was prompt, professional, clean, and upfront. I asked him how he liked working with the company and he said that "They're the best, I've been working for them for over six years and I've had zero complaints." It's always a good side when you hear that from someone and can tell it's a genuine endorsement. In total the services were approximately what I was quoted and I will definitely be working with Weld & Sons in the future.

I couldn't have asked for better service! I noticed a wet spot on our main floor carpet on Labor Day. When I looked up I could see the ceiling was wet. I sent Weld & Sons an email and by 7:00am the next morning I already had a response. Marcus came out that afternoon, found the problem, fixed it (and used a better pipe material for no extra cost), was very professional and friendly. Since he had to cut a hole in the ceiling in the floor below he also referred me to someone who could repair it. I can't say enough good things about my experience! I was getting together with friends later in the day and the first thing I said, "If any of you ever need a plumber, call Weld & Sons"!

On the day of the appointment they gave me a call a few minutes before arrival. Ben Pullis evaluated the situation, asked good questions, fixed the issues without a problem, and explained to me what was causing each issue. He also advised on what I could do to prevent these issues happening again. Ben was super knowledgable, professional, and service-oriented. I'd definitely hire them back for any other drain or plumbing jobs we may have in the future. It was a great experience and I was truly pleased. I can't rate them high enough.
Description of Work: We' had some problems with the drainage in our bathroom sink and toilet, and a little pool of water was forming in the laundry room in the basement. I called Weld & Sons and Sarah picked up the phone and started helping me right away. She asked very good questions, provided a rough quote based in our conversation, and scheduled a visit as soon as possible (a 2-hr window of time for the very next day).

This is the 3rd time I've used Weld & Sons. I called the city first who said their line was ok. I called Weld and explained that my washing machine had created a lake in the basement; then the toilet backed up. As usual, they did an excellent and timely job. They were educational, professional, and timely. Plus, I received a Senior Discount.!

I had a really wonderful experience with Weld. Contacted them through Angie's List when my old hot-water heater died and they responded quickly. Provided a price quote to replace the heater with a new one, including pulling a permit, at $1,000 -- in line with estimates I received from a couple of other Angie's List providers. They were available to come out two days later, and they called the day before to confirm. Nate, the technician, arrived on time on the appointed day and was extremely friendly. And BOY was he efficient! To lay down protection for my carpet, carry in the new heater (down a flight of stairs to the basement), drain the broken heater, cut the piping, remove the old heater, install the new heater, connect and weld new piping, shim it perfectly level, and then clean up and test the heater took only ONE HOUR. I couldn't believe it. Because Nate worked so quickly, the total bill came in almost $200 less than the estimate! It's been almost two months and thus far we have had no problems. I am very very pleased and would highly recommend Weld & Sons.

I had a very mixed experience with this company. They were initially very responsive during the original quote process and when it came to booking the service. The technicians on site were/are worth their weight in gold, however the rest of the process wasn?t as smooth. They were unable to provide me with a final bill when the repair was done so I felt a bit in the dark about how close it came to the original estimate. I then had to contact the company multiple times to receive the bill ? it came two weeks later. At that time, the charge was twice what the original estimate came in at. I understand that a permit had to be pulled, materials were used, etc. so the cost would come in higher, however the labor took longer than originally expected. That said, I think very highly of the service men so was more than OK with it, but wanted a better understanding of why that was the case with what was expected to be a fairly straightforward job. I asked for an explanation when the bill was sent and still haven?t heard back. I?m tired of chasing the company down so am paying the bill and calling it done. While the service technicians are amazing I likely wouldn?t use again because the rest of the experience with the company has been less than ideal. Disappointed.

I'm a first time house owner, just moved in for 6 days, have no tool, and suddenly had two leaking shut off valves.... I left a message through Angie's list to Weld & Sons on Wed night, they called the next Morning and came that afternoon. Arrived on time, spent 1.5h, changed four shut off valves, two pipes & one faucet. Now I don't need to worry about them for a while :)

We got three bids. Theirs was the lowest AND they repaired the bathroom wall that they had to rip out. None of the other plumbers would repair the wall. One plumber said they would also have to rip out the living ceiling which would have been a costly repair and Weld & Sons did it without ripping out the ceiling. Not one curse from the workers during the job which I found unusual and delightful...very nice employees. They also cleaned and vacuumed up after themselves. We have very good water pressure to the second floor instead of a trickle. All in all a great experience.

5 star customer service! Not sure if I'm alone, but I have had many bad experiences with service providers in the arena of customer service (they either don't call back when they say they will or they act like your business is not important to them), so the outstanding customer service I got from Weld & Sons blew me away, very impressed. My husband hit a pipe near where the water comes into our building, not hard, but enough to cause the approx 80-90 year old connector from the city pipe to our meter to spring a leak. It was a Sunday evening, we logged into Angie's List and found Weld & Sons. I called, got voicemail and hung up, thinking to move to the next name in the list, but using Caller Id, someone from Weld & Sons called me right back. I explained the situation (we had rigged up a bucket to catch the small stream of water coming out of the pipe, so it wasn't an emergency situation, just unsettling.) The guy said they could come out, but since it sounded as though we had it under control, if we could wait until the next day (Monday), they wouldn't have to charge us weekend rates. He said he'd have their scheduler, Michael, call us in the morning. I was like "Sure, like that's gonna happen". I figured I'd be doing the calling. But... nope, I was wrong, Miichael called first thing, looked at the schedule and said, they'd try to fit us in mid-morning and the service guy would call 30 minutes before he arrived. Again, I didn't hold out much hope. I figured I wouldn't hear anything until afternoon and then get a bunch of excuses (did I mention I'm a cynic?), but again I was pleasantly surprised. The service guy (I believe his name was Manny) called at 10:30, showed up less than 30 minutes later and had the pipe fixed in short order. He was exceedingly polite and professional and even took the time to give me a rough estimate for another job we plan on doing soon. We will definitely be using Weld & Sons again.
