+ -1 moreIt went very well. Plumbing always feels like it's over-priced, but quality is worth it. It's been two months since Kevin was here and everything is working fine.
Description of Work: The scheduler listened carefully to my explanation of what we needed done and scheduled the work for the next day, which was a pleasant surprise. Kevin arrived at the beginning of the time range quoted by the scheduler. He replaced plastic hoses on the water softener, re-installed the upstairs toilet, uninstalled the downstairs toilet and hauled it away. He was pleasant, professional and efficient. He also cleaned up after each task - you wouldn't know a plumber had been here.

The worked with a light touch and were generally willing to work around existing, tolerable problems rather than demanding that everything be ripped out. That saved me a bunch of money on plumbing and also helped me avoid a lot of other interior repair work. Don was always quick to respond to my nervous questions, and now everything works!
Description of Work: I recently bought a foreclosed house with lots of questionably plumbing choices. Don checked out the house early in the process to help me strategize about getting the place up and running, (no charge!) and then, later, sent out a crew to make several changes and fixes.

+ -1 moreKevin was great, very professional. He needed a part and actually ran out to Ace Hardware himself to get it and still finished the job in under an hour. The faucet has worked perfectly ever since. They were excellent and I'd use them again without hesitation.
Description of Work: After calling one plumbing service and getting no answer, we called Weld and a woman answered after the first ring. She was very professional and promised that a scheduler would be calling me to set up a time to have our bathtub faucet fixed. Within 5 minutes I received a call from the scheduler. He said he'd have one of the faucet guys out within the hour and that the plumber (Kevin) would call when he was on his way. Kevin called 20 minutes later and showed up 15 minutes after that. So they were even faster than they said they'd be and they communicated with me very well throughout the process. We needed a valve stem replaced in our bathtub's hot water faucet. Kevin was able to do the job very quickly, saving us money, and he did not need to tear out any tile or damage any wallboard to gain access. So it was very smooth and easy and painless and inexpensive.

+ -1 moreWeld did a superb job. Very creative solution in this old building and the tenants love having the laundry facilities. I tend to ask a lot of questions of my contractors and Weld workers always take the time to listen and offer great responses to the questions. And they coach and educate. It isn't a hot water heater; it is a cold water heater or simply a water heater. I really do like all the plumbers over at Weld that we've worked with and use them exclusively for all our plumbing needs.
Description of Work: Weld plumbed in washers and dryers for a small apartment building. Added a water heater, plumbed a utility sink, 2 washers and 2 dryers.

+ 0 moreClyde showed up on time. I explained that It had been a problem for the last few months and that I had had two other plumbers out to "fix" it. This was a shower with a Bath Fitter over it. Other plumbers were unable to remove drain cover and had settled for snaking down the over flow drain. Well Clyde not only got the drain cover off. He showed me how to do it in the future. Nice! Within minutes the drain that had caused me so much problems was fixed. I was VERY happy.
Description of Work: I called this company because I had used them a few years ago to install a vanity. I called and said I had a bathtub drain that was backing up. We scheduled a plumber for the next week at 8 a.m. on Monday.

+ -1 moreCame out the same day I called which was great as my basement carpet had gotten wet from the overflow and I didn't want it to overflow again. The plumber was on time, professional, friendly, and explained what happened and why. He cleaned out the drain promptly, tested it to make sure it was draining properly, and told me I could save some money by getting my own drain cover rather than him installing one.

He happily answered them all, offered to fix some other issues, showed me how to care for my hot water heater, and gave me some general counseling on well water in a home. He was so courteous, helpful and professional. Before he left, he told me to call with any plumbing questions at anytime and gave me referrals to other contractors that could help repair the mess the leak left us with.
Description of Work: Rob came to find and repair a leak in our master bathroom that was destroying our finished basement below. He came within 2 hours of the phone call I made to them. He quickly found the leak, explained to me all my options, and repaired the leaky plumbing.

+ -1 moreI had a toilet tank crack early in the morning, leaking water into the kitchen downstairs. I called Weld & Sons first thing and they came out in the afternoon to replace it. I talked to two people (one named Mark) who both were very helpful in choosing a replacement toilet that would fit my budget and preference. Manuel arrived punctually, in the afternoon of the same day, set to work and discovered that there was a hole in the pipe which meant I would need to have my downstairs ceiling opened up to access the pipes. Rob came over the next morning and spent 3 to 4 hours replacing pipes and toilet. He was professional, polite and performed his job cleanly and efficiently.
Description of Work: Replaced toilet and lead pipe leading to cast iron stack pipe.

+ -1 moreWe had a 8 am appointment, and Kevin showed up at 8 am exactly. He estimated that he could complete the work in one hour and that's all the time he needed. I would recommend Weld and Sons, and I will use them again in the future if needed.
Description of Work: The plastic bypass valve on the water softener broke (we are not using the water softener) and Weld and Sons created a permanent bypass. They also installed a new ball valve above the water meter since the old one was not completely sealing anymore.
