Description of Work: I have used usfamily for several years and always find their techs helpful and easy to get on the line. Since they are local I have been able to pickup a replacement modem when needed without waiting for delivery.

Description of Work: Nice enough people but the don't have the skills to run this business. I contacted them to sign up for internet service in my home. After I signed up I was informed it would take 10+ days to get the modem in the mail. I was not happy but decided to give them a chance. Sure enough, the modem came in just a couple days. However, when I tried to connect it, it wouldn't. I called the customer service number and was told that I would need to wait a week longer because my appt with CenturyLink wasn't until then. Ok. Not happy but figured I'm part way thru the process, they already had charged my credit card ... I'll just be patient. The day of service came and went and the modem still wouldn't connect. Called CS again and got a guy who"s only response was that I needed to be sure the modem was plugged into electric, phone jack, etc. Then was told I'd need to pay $35 to have their service tech come out to check out my phone lines. Then if that didn't work I'd need to spend $100 to have CenturyLink come out. I had enough and told them I wanted my money back and I would return the modem the next morning. Which I did, but there was nobody at the front desk so I just left it since I had to get to work. But that wasn't the end. They called and said they never got the modem. The next day the mailman dropped it back off at MY HOUSE AGAIN! Called them again and told them what happened. Somewhere along the line they said they would send their tech out for free but by then I just wanted them out of my life. So next morning I took the modem back a 2nd time. This time there were people around but they were all on the phone in cubes and when I rang the bell, a head would pop up, a hand would pop up to acknowledge me and then they sat back down. After going thru this twice I scribbled "return" on the box, Left it on the counter again and walked out. I did finally get a refund for them. And I signed up for Comcast for internet. Not ideal but I just didn't care anymore.

 + -1 moreIf the problem originated outside they called the proper company to come and fix it. Usually a line on the pole was not functioning.
Description of Work: I've had to call the tech line several times and anyone that answered was very helpful and made sure I understood the problem and how to fix it.

 + -1 moreGood service they are the internet service but they use Century Link lines so they do not have complete control. Once they led me through the reboot process for the modem everything's working fine.
Description of Work: Usfamily provides our internet service. I have issues where my service goes down. I call their help desk and I have found them very helpful in going through the process of fixing my connections. I find the people are knowledgeable and helpful and would recommend this company.

 + -1 moreI am still learning to use my computer. They are a growing company and now they have cell phone service too. I haven't checked into that but I noticed it. They are good and they are small. I have a son who is a computer geek but I am not as good as him. I am learning and I am satisfied. I like good and small, rather than big conglomerates which I stay away from. I love their price. The quality is kind of poor sometimes but I am still learning. They are really responsive. When they are open if I call them and tell them that I have a problem, they usually fix it right away down at their place or they tell me how to fix it. I pay $111 a year.

 + -1 moreI have been pretty happy with their service. When I hooked it up the computer it came right up and I really didn't have to do anything. I haven't really had any problem with the internet service. As my internet was slow, I called them to upgrade it to get a faster connection. They are reliable. When I use the internet, it is always there. I would continue to use them in the future. I've used them for over 10 years. I used to have dial-up with them. I had problems with the dial-up and they were real helpful over the phone.
Description of Work: I used the services of Usfamily.Net to upgrade my internet. They got me the modem and filter and I installed it myself.

 + -1 moreThe ISP is often the silent partner behind the DSL. I've had DSL for years, now, and for all the problems with my telephone carrier, USFamily.net has continued to chug along with no problems. No annoying ads, nothing. They actually have an annual fee that was less expensive than the $11.99 rate (which is monthly) and I used that for several years, but I recently dropped to the monthly rate because we will likely change to cable modem since the telephone carrier is getting unreasonable. I'm just said I can't bring along my usfamily.net if we switch. This rate includes several email accounts if you choose to use them, webspace, and the basic ISP service with a single IP address. They have always been very responsive to questions when I've needed to call them.
