Description of Work: Jesse came out the day after I called and cleaned at the gutters on my house. I have a tall house with many peaks and valleys. If the areas were clean and he did not have to get on the roof there was no charge for that area. He blew out the areas that went underground and made sure they were clear as well. I now have a "gutter guy" for future years. He was great.

+ -1 moreHad some trouble with scheduling. Did not read the fine print under the Big Deal stating to schedule within 2 days. They came out and started working on gutters without my knowing. They stated they contacted Angie's List and worked out the scheduling issues. The actual work by the company was just fine. The scheduling issue wasn't the companies fault.

I was actually pretty embarrassed about the conditions of my gutters and it was clear they were very clogged and even had little plants growing out of them! :) I had purchased the deal of $119 and knew up front that with the amount of gutters I had that I would expect it to cost more (not to mention how clogged they were!). The additional $32 he charged was extremely reasonable for the amount of time he spent on the gutters. I will absolutely call Jesse back to clean my gutters and would highly recommend him!

+ 0 moreJesse answered his phone personally, provided an estimate (very reasonable) and we set up a date for him to come to my parents' relatively large home in Highland Park, Saint Paul. We confirmed this appointment the night before his arrival and he was prompt to the point of being early (!) to meet my parents and agree upon a price. He was professional, kind and very diligent. His prices are more than fair given the amount of work to be done and the heights to which he had to climb to get to some of the gutters involved. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. It appears he runs his own shop and is a hardworking small businessman. He's worthy of your business.

+ 0 moreHe showed up as planned and had a fabulous personality. He was very polite and courteous and went right to work clearing the clogged downspout and then washed the big bay window. He came back into the house to check the window to be sure it was clean and it was great.

+ -1 moreI can't say enough about the service, price and overall experience I had with Ultra Shine, and their owner, Jesse. Exceptional would be the best word. After finding Ultra Shine on Angie's List, we scheduled an appointment, and he came out the same day. Not only did he clean out the gutters on our enormous twin home, but he repaired and attached part of the gutter that had been broken. His price was reasonable, the work was professional, and I would highly recommend him for any of his offered services. I am shocked at one of the bad reviews I read for Ultra Shine, and am so happy we ignored the one bad review. Best job we've had in our two years with Angie's List.

+ -1 moreI have pictures proving my point that the work he's done has not been completed or was done badly. I would not recommend him to anyone. He was very unprofessional.
Description of Work: One March 30th he came to clean my windows. He also stated in his service he providers he does general contracting work. I wanted our front hall closet painted and injured my back and was able able to paint it myself. He painted that closet for us. He said he'd clean the screens on our windows but never did. He was talking about wanting to go golfing, we worked out an agreement that if he did the work I needed done we agreed I'd get him a set of golf clubs a and golf bag. I paid him 300 dollars for him washing the windows painting the closet and to rehang the curtain in my master bedroom and he left holes and it's still crooked, and to do the piping for my dryer venting which was not up to code and wasn't done because he's not a licensed plumber. I had some cement work that needed to be done on my pool deck that surrounds my pool. The job is a two day job and he tried to quickly do it when the weather wasn't even appropriate to have the work done. I was also charged $35 every time he came out to do work and told me it was because I made him come out by me changing the times. I wasn't even told I'd be charged $35 every visit but it showed on the bill Sun Mon and wen. At one time he went to Menard's for supplies and charged us during that time too. Everything he did was done with half effort. If the work had been done correctly I wouldn't care at all I'd even have still given him the clubs.

+ -1 moreUnfortunately, fall came late this year, and the leaves didn't fall from the trees in my yard until late November, while the deal closing date was in early November. I thus contacted the provider after the closing date, and offered to pay more, if needed, to get the job done. On the plus side, the provider managed to fit in the work at short notice and performed the required work adequately. On the negative side, he was very hostile in his responding e-mail and in a phone call I made to him, saying things like "this is not a game to me, I am not calling again"; he seemed very upset that he had not gotten an earlier response from me to schedule the service (he had e-mailed twice, in early September) and had called when I wasn't home, long before I was ready to have the work done. I appreciate that he didn't charge extra after the end of the deal date and made a special effort to get the work done quickly, before the temperature dropped, but I would not use this service again because of his hostility in our e-mail and phone interactions. It doesn't make sense to have my gutters cleaned before the leaves fall off the trees in my yard, and I prefer to work with a provider who is more comfortable in being flexible about scheduling the work.
Description of Work: I purchased a special price deal to get my gutters cleaned through Angie's List.

+ -1 moreFirst he complained about the date I chose, then when he arrived he complained that he had to get out his big ladder. If he advertises to clean gutters does he think he won't need a ladder? He up-charged fairly because I admit I misread the offer that was for 175 feet of gutter. But his interactions with my husband were unpleasant due to his complaining. My real complaint is with Angie's List offers that are often vague and misleading.

+ 0 morethis was a terrific service. I bought the "big deal" for gutter cleaning. I was able to get an appointment right away (all by email with is best for me). The owner came out right on time. I had to leave for work shortly after he arrived and started working. He explained what he would do and said he would leave his recommendations and anything he found in the back door. He was very helpful - noted that with a large pine tree on one side of my house I should consider clearing twice a year or would likely get water up in my roof, or in my basement. He was correct - I had been getting water in my basement on that side. We had 3 days of rain this week and my basement has been absolutely dry. I will take them up on the suggestion to clear twice a year. The cost is very reasonable, and beats water where I don't want it.

He asked for the additional fee in cash. I didn’t feel comfortable doing the cash so I asked if I could use a credit card. He refused to accept credit and advised that I needed to get a refund. He may have accepted a check but I preferred credit.

+ 0 moreOwner is professional and meticulous. He charges (comparable to the larger firms I contacted) by the glass pane so a standard window would have two panes at $5 per pane. Our house had more than 50 panes (on three levels) and many of the windows and screens had not had exterior cleaning in more than 5 years. Owner did an excellent job using just soap and water--no caustic chemicals--on both windows and screens. During the cleaning I discovered two screens with significant tears. Owner had the supplies and tools necessary to re-screen on-site and did a great job (though he charges about $5 more than for most off-site repairs, it was well worth it to have the job done at the time of cleaning). The owner's original phone estimate (for cleaning fee and time needed to complete the job) was substantially less than cost/time for the final job. However, I had expected that to be the case based on number and position of windows and prior experience with cleaning firms. Owner re-estimated when he arrived on the job and we had a conversation before he began the work so there were no surprises. The owner takes the job seriously. The quality is excellent and the windows look fabulous. I plan to use UltraShine in the future.
Description of Work: Owner is a sole proprietor and performs all the work himself. He hand washes windows, frames and sills, and glass doors, dusts screens (hand washes screens if heavily soiled for an additional charge), repairs screens on-site (for an extra charge), cleans gutters by hand (for an additional charge) and cleans chandeliers (for an additional charge).

He did a magnificant job on the windows and was done in about 6 hours since I have so many windows. After he left it began to rain and I received a call from him after the storm asking me if he should come over and touch up the windows. Great service and great price!

To date he has cleaned our windows three times and has provided the same excellent service each time. He skillfully worked around our dogs, furniture and kids. His follow up is excellent. He's already left a helpful reminder this spring offering to schedule the window cleaning. I am definitely planning to call him back to get rid of all of the winter grunge, dog nose prints, and hand prints on our windows... if it ever stops raining.
Description of Work: Jessie cleaned the inside and outside of our double windows. He had to remove the interior set of windows to clean the backs of both the exterior and interior windows. I didn't even know this was an option!

After the visit, it turned out that one of the gutters they had cleaned was plugged up with leaves far down in the spout (the clog could not be seen during the cleaning but became apparent a week later after the first rain fall). I called the owner and he came back right away and did the cleared the clog free of charge. A very responsive business owner that I will for sure use again.
