Debbie came out the day after I called her. We chatted sbout what I wanted done and she took measurements. The next day, via e-mail, she described options for the replacement tree and shrubs and suggested we look at photos and descriptions on the internet where we could see the plants full grown, blooming etc.(great idea for mid October project) The crew came out at 8am when they said they would and the job was finished within three hours, only a week after Debbie's estimate visit. They worked efficiently and cleaned up. The whole process was extremely smooth. Twin City Landscape was almost half the price of our other bid.
Description of Work: Grind a stump, remove three bushes. Plant a tree and two shrubs, supplied by Twin City Landscape. Regrade a small slope and sod slope, around new tree, and small bare patch in yard.

We meet twice with Debby. She was on time and very efficient in providing us with a quote. We were pleased that she scheduled us to complete our work within 2 weeks. We were surprised that the work was completed in only 4 hours by 3 people! We are happy with the work and have not had any water problems so far. I would suggest asking for a detailed quote from Debby. While completing the work, I had to remind her of what we discussed. It would have been easier to have all details on the quote. She happily completed everything we asked for in the end. We probably would have hired her to do plantings as well, but she only gave us a quote of $750 with no detail.
Description of Work: They graded the south side of the house and installed drain tile. They also removed scrubs. They installed sod, landscape fabric, and mulch.

TCL was 1 of 5 bids. Designs were somewhat different but the total job was equivalent. TCL was the lowest bid particularly for paver work. Owner Debbie Petschl very knowledgeable and helpful in the design and selection of plantings, which would do well in the specific locations. She was prompt, courteous, and professional. Flexible in making minor changes. Because of her supervision, the crew knew what was expected. Materials were delivered on time and job was completed as promised. Her crew was prompt, incredibly hardworking, courteous, and cleaned up each evening. Two minor issues: (1) Inexperienced crew member was told not to hammer landscape cloth fasteners, but did. Resulting in several leaks in the underground sprinkler system. Twin City paid for immediate repair. (2) Lot was hand raked to level (not smoothed with bobcat) before sod was laid, but because soil is clay, it's bumpy. Work exceeded expectations.
Description of Work: 720 sq. ft. paver patio on 8" compacted class #2 rock; 34' x 4' paver walk with 9 steps, 2 country manor block retaining walls for flower beds at side of house on slope, bury 7 drain tiles from gutter downspouts to rear of property, 20 yards cedar mulch; 160' concrete bullet edging, 8 yds. limestone rock; 900 sq. yds. sod, approx. 70 shrubs + 3 trees all with landscape fabric.

Deb Petschl and her crew were wonderful to work with. Deb had a lot of helpful ideas on what would work with our hill and she also listened carefully to what we had in mind. She answers her phone readily and is prompt for all appointments. Her crew is a marvel! They came early in the morning and worked non-stop. They were very careful and precise in laying the blocks and even managed to jack hammer out the underlying concrete without damaging the sidewalk. Everything was cleaned up neatly at the end of the work. Many of our neighbors commented on the project and noticed how hard the crew worked. We are pleased with the project, it fits right in with our old 1919 house and enjoyed working with Deb and crew. We had gotten 3 other estimates and felt Twin City was reasonable for the amount of work done.
Description of Work: We had an old, crumbling concrete wall along the edge of our corner lot. This was torn out, including a strip of concrete that needed to be jack hammered out, and a new wall was rebuilt approx, 3.5' high by 54'long. We then extended the wall across the front of our lot, another 34' to eliminate a very steep hill. The lot was graded to eliminate the slant of the hill and we also had Twin City landscape and plant it for an additional $1600.

We chose Twin City because Deb quickly understood the type of landscaping re-design we were after. The pricing was reasonable. They were able to start the job quickly, but we weren't rushed to make any decisions. Whatever decisions we needed help with, Deb took the time to help us. She puts customer satisfaction as a number 1 priority. She does a follow-up in the Spring.
Description of Work: Remove existing cement entryway and surrounding river rock and old plants. Replace with FOUR, new paver areas (pathways both sides of the house, pathway along the front, and entryway patio with new step). Install a block retaining wall along the north side of the house. Install 24 shrubs and one evergreen tree. Install mulch. Install three drainage tiles from downspouts. Sod and reseed areas that were dug up. Cleanup after every work day. Nine days total (with days in-between) to do the work.

Debbie was great. She responded quickly and was very easy to work with. She had great ideas. Her time frame to do the work was in the time frame I needed it done. I thought the price was very fair, considering all the work they would have to do to remove the old blocks. I just decided to put the project off for awhile.
Description of Work: I had an estimate for a large old cement block patio, to be removed and a new patio of pavers put in.

I had called Debbie and set up a time to meet. She never showed up, and I lost time at work. She didn't really apologize, but since she was being nice I set up another time with her. I called her about 30 minutes after our second appointment. She said she forgot again. So I got stood up TWICE, waisted over an hour waiting for her both times, and she didn't offer anything accept for saying '' I can leave right now if you want to wait for me.'' It was terrible.
Description of Work: She was to have come and give me a quote on a patio I wanted installed in my backyard. She stood me up twice. Both times I had to call her back and ask her where she was, both times she had no excuse and offered to come over right away.

I had an appointment set up to meet with Deb about a landscaping project. She called exactly at the time of the appointment to cancel. We set up another time for a few days later. She did not come to the appointment, nor did she call. It's been a couple weeks now, and I still haven't heard from her.

Excellent work. They were able to complete most of the work in one day. We did have a short delay in finishing but that was due in part to some weather and in part to some issues obtaining the correct part to connect the drain tile to the existing downspout. Overall we are very pleased and would recommend this company. We felt the price was very competitive for the work done.
Description of Work: Deb and crew removed 1 tree, 5 or 6 shrubs and some various other stumps. She replaced those areas with sod. She replaced an area that was rock (we pulled the rock up) with mulch and planted 5 new bushes. She also sodded the side of our house and installed drain tile/tubing to prevent water problems in our garage. Along with some grading to help water drainage.

Debbie Petschl, the owner of the business, was prompt in responding to questions, in looking at the job, and in giving us an estimate. She kept us informed when weather interfered with starting the job as scheduled, and followed through with a promise to come back and haul away unused rock.
Description of Work: A very old retaining wall separating our yard from our uphill neighbor's yard had crumbled. We wanted the section of wall rebuilt, matching as closely as possible the old, weathered natural appearance of the rest of the wall. To make it more difficult, the wall section that had crumbled was right next to our house and there was no access for a bobcat and very little room to maneuver a crew. Twin City Landscape rebuilt the wall so that people who don't know which section was rebuilt can't tell where it was. They did the job in less than one day, and they left the area neat. I would hire them again.

FAR EXCEEDED ANY EXPECTATIONS I HAD. THIS COMPANY STEPPED IN WHEN A PREVIOUSLY HIRED CONTRACTOR CONTINUALLY FAILED TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT. THEY ARRIVED ON THE JOB 1/2 DAY BEFORE THEY HAD PROMISED TO START. WORKERS WERE PROFESSIONAL AND WORKED FULL DAYS UNTIL THE JOB WAS DONE. THE CREW CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES ON A DAILY BASIS. FINISHING TOUCHES TO THE PROJECT WERE DONE ON THEIR OWN ACCORD, THINGS THAT I WAS GOING TO DO MYSELF AFTER THE RETAINING WALL WAS FINISHED. THEY PATCHED CEMENT AND ASPHALT. THEY CLEANED UP THE ENTIRE AREA WHEN THE JOB WAS COMPLETED.
Description of Work: INSTALLED A RETAINING WALL, STEPS, DRIVEWAY AND ALSO DID SOME CEMENT REPAIR.
