Debbie did a great job. They charged a great price and we were happy with the result.
Description of Work: They re-landscaped the front yard with shrubs, mulch and re-paved the sidewalk as well.

Left message to request an estimate. The company returned my call over a week later. Made an appointment for an estimate but the company called that day and asked to re-schedule.

Excellent. Deb's price was reasonable, the middle of three bids. We selected hers because she made the case for a "Buick" wall given the location between two houses (well built and functional but reasonably priced). We had a "Cadillac" built which was very thoroughly done be we didn't want to pay for the most attractive materials when we would hardly see the wall. Her crew was timely, hard-working, a bit sloppy at the outset (thus the B for professionalism) but quick to respond to concerns, and the overall job was outstanding.
Description of Work: Removed and replaced a block retaining wall between two houses, approximately 80' long by 3' high.

Debbie Petschl was professional and precise in explaining what she planned to do and was reliable and punctual in all appointments. She had design and plant opinions, but was also willing to make modifications based on our particular aesthetic preference. We are still going to add a few plants as I write, so the project is not entirely complete, but we are very happy with the result. The landscape is distinctive, natural-looking and asymmetrical, meeting our individual style. The cost was comparable to several other bidders.
Description of Work: Twin City Landscape removed sod and weeds from two hills in front of our home, built a boulder retaining wall, and created a natural landscape with plants, boulders, and mulch.

Twin City Landscape did a terrific job rebuilding two retaining walls, trenching a sump pump and replacing worn edging. It took a little longer than expected but the walls and yard look great. They filled in decorative block where needed at no extra charge. They did a great job for a very competitive price.
Description of Work: They rebuilt two retaining walls, trenched a sump pump drain and installed new edging. Everything looks terrific! Although it took a little longer than expected, the workers were courteous and diligent in cleaning up. They exceeded my expectations by filling in new landscape rocks to make the yard look better.

I called Twin City Landscape after reading about them on Angie's List in June 2007. The appointment was scheduled for about one week after the call. Before the appointment, I received a reminder postcard in the mail. Wow! Debbie arrived on time for our appointment. We reviewed our request for resodding, removal of about 350 sq ft of concrete, and addition of a paver patio and walkway in our backyard. The detailed quote arrived about a week later via e-mail. The price was as we expected but we had since changed our mind on the backyard strategy and removed the concrete ourselves and hired another firm to resod the backyard.
Description of Work: We chose not to move forward with the quoted work, only because our strategy for the backyard design changed. We selected another company to resod the backyard instead.

TC Landscaping did an excellent job; they did the work quickly (five business days), for a good price (about $800 less than the other estimates we got), and even did a little extra (replaced some sidewalk at no charge). The final result looks great and I'd certainly use them again.

I called Twin City Landscaping on Tuesday morning and the job was complete by 11 a.m on Thursday. I could not be happier with the great service and response I received from Diane and Debbie. I was given two options on how to do the project and when I expressed concern about nails in the area from our recent new roof, Debbie said they would use the magnet to pick up nails. The crew ran the magnet over the area not once, but three times. Then they showed me the bag of nails they picked up. Debbie and her crew were incredibly fast and professional. The crew cleaned up all around the area (even a pile of brush I had left nearby).
Description of Work: Remove and haul away all weeds and plantings from 10x60 foot area, level, use magnet to pick up nails from recent roofing job, lay sod.

I am very pleased with the job done by Deb and her crew at Twin City Landscape. Their estimate was the middle of three yet was just as thorough and expert as the highest bidder. After I decided on Twin City Landscape to do the job, I came home to find that part of my old retaining wall had collapsed. Deb was able to rearrange her schedule to do the job much earlier because of the collapse. They were always on time, professional, knowledgeable, and receptive. I love the job they did!
Description of Work: Removed old patio (623 sq ft of old pavers and concrete)removed old retaining wall (183 sq ft), removed one tree and several shrubs. Installed new patio and retaining wall (including 8' "couch"), 54' of edger along flower beds, and 3'x3'pad for garbage can. Also planted 6 Arbor Vitae and added mulch to flower beds.

This was a "small" job for Twin City Landscaping, but I felt that I got first class service. They put me on the schedule early and barring a few days when the weather interfered with getting started, did a fine job. I would hire them again.
Description of Work: Company prepared and planted two beds (one on each side of porch) with appropriate plants (one garden receives full sun; other in shade most of day). They edged one bed with rock to complement another Hosta garden I had already planted. Plants chosen were to be rabbit-resistant. They mulched the beds. All work performed as agreed upon. Deb, the owner of the company, was very responsive to e-mail communiques. Their bid was much lower than others.

It was an awesome experience. The crew started a little before 8AM and at 3PM they called to say they were putting on the finishing touches!! We were thrilled. They even remembered that we were trying to save a strip of grass near the patio - and put in new dirt and seed on the area that was roughed up from the excavation/installation. And, they remembered to cut down a "weed tree" growing out of an old tree stump. They were neat and VERY organized. Just like clock work everything happened. You did not even know they were here- other than seeing the patio. It was terrific!
Description of Work: Installed a cobblestone patio - 10x15. We provided the cobblestones.

Debbie came out to look at the job and make suggestions. It is a small patio (20' by 10')and I wanted mostly pavers. They started at noon and removed all the old debris and garden material that would be covered by pavers and finished by noon the next day. Removed the tree and shrub and left a small stump (I put a bird bath on top). They (two guys and Debby) were very good, professional, nice to work with. Between the time Debby came out to originally look at how the patio would be done and when they actually came to do the job, due to Association concerns, things changed a bit. Twin City took everything in stride and the patio turned out even better. They were always on time, always cleaned up everything, even took the time to level the stump so I could put a bird bath topper on it.
Description of Work: They remove 2 large Arbovite tree/shrubs, put in new river rock, put in a paver patio, reset large concrete pavers and put in a small piece of grass (3' by 4')for the dog.

Debbie responded promptly to our call and came and produced a plan and planting in good time but either I wasn't specific enough or she got the wrong idea because the plan was lovely and would probably have made a splendid garden but was much more full of building and beds than we had envisioned and consequently too expensive as well as not providing the dog with the exercise area we had asked for. We would have had confidence to go with it if we had been intending a much more elaborate scheme than the one we eventually went with, at about a third to half of the cost.
Description of Work: The brief was to start with some grass and 3 trees left by the re-modelers and landscape a moderate city backyard and area at the side of the house, creating a patio and path to the garage, fencing, creation and planting of beds.($16000.). No work was done.

Received estimate from Debbie, well below what we were thinking we would pay. Debbie was very professional as was her team. They had the old wall removed and installed very quickly. Our neighbors are thrilled not to be looking at our crumbling wall. When I noticed that the two walls were not level (in front with the stairs) she had it fixed the next day. When it came to the sod however, she shorted our neighbors a tad and some of the sod laid in our front looked older than the rest - more brown, however, I think will be fine over time. I do wish however that when they removed a couple of old fence posts (fence knocked down in storm few years back) they would have removed them all rather than just the 2 of the four - the two came down with the wall no way they could salvage them but at that point why not take them all out as now it looks worse now.
Description of Work: Replaced retaining wall in front and along the entire length of home and behind the garage (lots and lots of wall!).

My experience with TC Landscape began with a visit to Angie s List. I read the comments for a number of Landscapers including TC Landscape. I emailed Debbie at TCL by using the email address provided by Angie s List. Within 4 business days, Debbie and I had negotiated pricing, terms and timing all by email! The first part was completed in January 2006. We had a very warm winter and because the ground was not very frozen, Debbie and her crew were able to use a thawing blanket, then install most of the retaining wall at that time. This was great because we were able to place the retaining wall next to the garage wall before the stucco was applied in June 2006. Debbie coordinated with my sprinkler company to ensure that there would be an unobstructed path for their engineers to reinstall the lines and sprinkler heads later on during the year. The second part of the project was completed in October 2006 once the addition project was finally completed. See description above.
Description of Work: After a large addition project, TC Landscape (1) graded my backyard, (2) installed a beautiful three-tier retaining wall in my backyard and along-side my new driveway, (3) installed sod in the lower portion of my backyard, (4) transplanted perennials, (5) installed weed block, and (6) laid mulch.

Appointment for estimate set up but rescheduled for the following day when Debbie called at the time the original appointment was scheduled. Debbie arrived at the appointment on time and was friendly and helpful. However, I needed to ask a couple times via email if she was going to write up an estimate with description. Estimate finally came about 2 weeks later with just written description of work and no rough sketch of what the propose plan would look like.

Excellent - I called three companies for an estimate. Debbie was the first one to return my calls. She was straightforward, clear, made some good suggestions. I knew what to expect from the start. Debbie and the crew worked quickly. The materials they brought were top quality - sod, mulch, and edging materials. She offered to put the leftover mulch in other areas in my yard and did so quickly and at no extra charge. She gave instructions for care of the area and it looks great!
Description of Work: My lawn needed repair after having a large tree cut down. There was a huge pile of debris left behind as well as open patches in the lawn where the roots had been. I also had a place where I wanted landscape edging installed and mulch put down.
