We hired Twin Cities Landscape to redo our entire backyard Debbie came out and did a thorough estimate and took time to go through everything with us. She also met us at the stone and garden center to pick out materials. Debbie and her crew are very professional and I think almost everyone that came to the job site always introduced themselves and said Hi. We mentioned we wanted the project completed by a certain day for a graduation party and they worked with us to make sure it was done by then. They were actually able to start our project a week early and completed the project in 3 days. We are VERY pleased with the completed project and look forward to enjoying our new backyard!
Description of Work: Tear down and re-install retaining wall, install fire pit, driveway edging, plantings, tear down rebuild flower beds, and lay sod.

We had a Korean Clump Maple, Sedum (qty 10) and coral bells (qty 15) installed in our flowerbed with some other plants. The tree, sedum and coral bells all died. I emailed Debbie Petschl who's the owner of Twin City Landscape. Letting her know what had happen and even send a picture of the tree/plants that had die. Her respond was that she doesn't guarantee plants and trees. Debbie doesn't stand by her the work she does. Debbie never stated that she doesn't offer a warrant on any of the plans and trees she installs. If I would have know that at the time. I would have never had Twin City Landscape do that job. Update - 06/01/2013 Debbie is shading the truth a little with her response. It is true that she didn't come up with the plan, she did give an alternative for the Korean Clump Maple. However she said that we could give the Korean Clump Maple a try and see how it did. Also the reason why the Sedum and coral bells (both hardy plans that should do well in Minnesota) didn't survive is because they were planted in rock hard clay. We didn't know the soil was that poor until this spring when we pull all of the dead plant out. Not once did Debbie or her installers mention that the soil was poor. We fixed the issue this spring, before we replanted the entire bed, it only took about an hour and some black dirt, compost and peat moss to get the soil into shape. You would think that a licensed landscape professional would advise her clients on something like this before installing but Debbie didn't. She was more concerned about getting in and out as quickly as possible so she could move on to the next job.
Description of Work: We added a new 30 foot x 15 foot oval flowerbed with stone edging.

The planting plan was not created by Twin City Landscape. We pick plants that are hardy to the area that they are to be planted. I advised the customer against the plants and even offered her alternatives. She wanted to go ahead and try them anyway. I am a bit surprised that she would think we would still be responsible for them.

Just on the day of appointment she called and said your area is outside of our service area. There Company profile in list said they cover entire area. They located just near to MSP airport and she said they don't serve in Plymouth. This is very disappointing and completely wasted my time. I lost 7 days just waiting to get quote and last day she said we don't serve in your area. I will not recommend them to anyone. No guarantee if they show up on appointment. Wasting of time.

I greatly regret having wasting [member name removed] time. But he does not live in Plymouth he lives in Hamel and that is outside of the delivery area that our delivery service provider covers. I actually have not done a project in Hamel so I was as surprised to learn that they would not be able to deliver there.

Debbie was extremely helpful with designing as well as picking out the plantings/shrubs to be used. She was quick to provide an estimate as well as return calls/emails. When the work started, she and her crew arrived on time, were very respectful while doing their job and did a good job cleaning up before they left. Debbie came back the next year to fertilize and check the status of what was planted. She also gave tips/helpful information even on the work they did not do. I would not hesitate to use this company again.

I live on a major creek that empties into the Mississippi River. My property is what you might call a flood plain. I wanted to stabilize the banks of the creek, which flows for about a quarter mile on my property. This project required that the vendor work with three state and local agencies - city, DNR, and BCWM District and of course, me. The city required three bids from vendors who were qualified to work in a natural landscape with running water. Twin Cities Landscape and Debbie came in with the lowest bid for the most work. I needed to have the creek bed prepared along its side to a grade required by the DNR/Watershed District, then have large boulders placed along the banks of the creek. To do this, we needed to set-up a staging area. We negotiated an area at the back of a parking lot of a near-by nursing home. Debbie worked with the grounds manager of the home to make the arrangements. We also needed to cross a neighbors yard to get to my back yard. Both the nursing home and neighbor were so pleased with Debbie and her crew, they are using her services as well. The actual work took about 2 weeks. When they were done, they laid down the necessary ground cover and re-seeded the property. The stone walls look absolutely lovely, so much so, the city took pictures to show others what can be done with the stabilization projects along the creek bank. I would highly recommend these folks to do what they say they are going to do. They are ethical and timely. They communicated with me well. I really can't say enough good about Twin City Landscaping and Debbie Preshel.

Great. Very responsive to coming out for an estimate and had great ideas on how to use the space without harming the nearby tree. Came up with a beautiful design for me. Let me come out and see and approve the stones they proposed to use. Crew was on time and professional and did beautiful work. The price was very competitive with the other estimates I got. I highly recommend this company. The owner was always available for questions and provided information as I needed it.

Initial design meetings went well, Debbie is very easy to work with and exchange ideas on plants and other materials. We were happy with initial plans and project cost. We were taken to the plant provider's nursery to see different scrubs and plants to get a better idea of what to expect. Design changes we requested after the installation started were worked in with reasonable cost. Finished project was what we expected.
Description of Work: Designed and installed landscaping on front and sides of house. Included: -- replacement of front walk and covering of front door cement pad with pavers. -- design and install paver and rubber edging for panting beds. -- recommended and installed new tree, shrubs and plants. -- graded and re-seeded lawn areas damaged by another remodel project.

Deb was amazing. We needed someone VERY quickly and Deb came to our rescue. She was able to give me a quote in about an hour and started the work within a couple of days. Her crew Alex, Ethan, Charlie and Pete were so professional and hardworking. They showed up on time and worked so h****** our wall that I was amazed. They had to move thousands of pounds of blocks and gravel up our steep driveway and yard and were always pleasant and positive. They even did things around my yard that I didn't even ask for. Twin City Landscape was amazing and I have already asked her to do more landscaping for us. You should use them too!!!
Description of Work: We had a retaining wall removed and a new one put up.
Debbie and her crew did a fantastic job. The crew was very friendly and did not mind our feedback and last minute changes. They really helped us out during the process and didn't mind when we made a change or two. Their prices were very reasonable and we couldn't be happier with the results. We will definitely be using them to finish our landscaping projects!

See above. List of services included: removal of overgrowth of BuckThorn trees and bushes, removal of old plants and weeds. Leveling back yard and applying new top soil, re mulching front, side and back yard. Removal of one fence line. Design and placement of stone pavers for a walk way and 16 ft diameter fire pit. Placement of stone walkway in back and side yard. Planted grass seed in backyard.
Description of Work: Major re work to our front and back yard. The Back yard was completely overgrown and required the removal of a fence line to get equipment inside to clear all the over growth, remove several Buckthorns and level the area. In addition, we had pavers installed for a pathway and a fire pit. We also had a portion of the yard covered in black first for new grass seed and stepping stones to exit . The side yard also backs into a woodsy area that needed cleared of Buckthorn and mulched plus stone pathway installed. Several areas on the front yard needed trimmed and cut back as it had completely overgrown from previous landscaping, some 15 years earlier. The entire yard was re- mulched and looks 100% different. It's a cleaner, newer look, that we could never accomplished on our own. The team working was very efficient and organized. On the last day, we had some time to talk about the final product. It was great to hear how much they felt that they had done a good job and could see their hard work. And the result was a real transformation. Debbie had made several suggestions that really paid off for us. Even though there was an initial estimate, she had suggested waiting for the backyard removal before confirming just how it would look. She was right. After the old brush and trees were removed, the next phase was easier to visualize. I would definitely refer this team on another job, we were happy with each step. The process.

We called for an estimate on our yard and Debbie was quick to respond. She walked with us giving us creative suggestions from the very beginning. Within a week we had a complete estimate including a computer plan with a fire pit, seating wall, boulders, and a paver sidewalk. After going back and forth we were able to accept the estimate and our job was scheduled for three weeks out. Debbie took the time to meet with us, select our pavers and each boulder, and mulch. We also met with her at the growers to select plants. She took the time to explain which plants were deer resistant, shade and sun loving. Debbie was very flexible with suggestions and estimates to our additions including a dry creek river bed. We were pleasantly surprised when our project started a week ahead of schedule. Debbie's crew was a group of extremely hardworking and professional landscapers who were very respectful and accommodating. As the project progressed the foreman on the job asked us for input and approval with the placement of the fire pit, seating wall, and large boulders. Our job took just over a week and we absolutely love our new yard.
Description of Work: Compete overhaul of backyard with installation of a paver sidewalk, fire pit, and seating wall. They turned our backyard from a weed filled, sloping backyard to an oasis! In addition, they replaced a shade filled area where no grass would grow with large boulders and perennials.
Debbie Petschl was a true pleasure to work with, from the initial consultation to installation and follow-up! The quality of the work was/is outstanding. I truly appreciated her willingness to talk through my initial thoughts and ideas, add to them, and then make them a reality. Debbie indicated she will follow up in the spring, following the patio's first winter, to ensure that there has been no movement and to tweak anything that may need it. Her attention to my satisfaction with the job is appreciated, and her easy-going but thoroughly professional attitude was one of the reasons I went with her company. I have received many, many compliments on the patio by neighbors and friends and I could not be happier or more satisfied.
Description of Work: Twin Cities Landscape installed a LARGE paver patio (with an integrated circle design), three large planting areas, granite stones, steps, stepping stones, and mulched the planting areas.

They did an exceptional job. When she came out to inspect the work herself, she did not like the way it was done, we had thought it was fine. She had people come back to make corrections to make sure it was straight and square. The work was very good. They were quick, efficient, and clean. She inspected it a second time and gave it her okay. The following spring she did another inspection to make sure it made it through the winter alright. We were really impressed with her honesty, efficiently, and high quality of expertise. We recommended her to our neighbors. She was a little more expensive, but I believe we got what we paid for. We liked the idea that they guaranteed their work and would inspect it again. We love the wall.

They were good. The owner was easy to work with. Good price, prompt and professional. They had good recommendations.
Description of Work: TWIN CITY LANDSCAPE did some landscaping work for us.
We had a straightforward request to clear out an area next to our garage to prepare it for a shed. We wanted the ground graded so that water would drain away from the garage. Next, we needed gravel to be packed down on the area so that there would be no weed growth. Finally, river rock atop the gravel so that the shed would not be sitting directly on wet ground. All the work was done in just a couple of hours and the crew was very courteous and professional. They were fastidious in cleaning up when done, too. Also, Debbie was able to coordinate getting our job done ahead of schedule.

I should also mention that I was pleased at the way they left our yard/driveway when finished. Everything was tidy and neat and looked great! Nothing left for me to clean up or worry about!!
Description of Work: Debbie and crew did a fantastic job from beginning to end. During the consultation, Debbie had great suggestions when it came to dealing with drainage issues we were having near our garage, and were open to listening to our suggestions as well. It was suggested, and we very much liked the idea of, putting a rain garden in the problem area. Seeing this on her virtual layout --set into our actual yard was extremely helpful, since often it's hard to picture the final outcome when it's still in the planning stages (and we didn't even know what a rain garden was). The overall design turned out great and was not only practical, but also gorgeous. In addition to the rain graden we added in a tumbled paver patio (circular pattern melding into a random pattern) to correct drainage around the house, a seat wall, and some other landscaping. We were willing to spend more than we had hoped to because the design was so wonderful and we knew it was a lifetime purchase that would help protect our home/garage from water intrusion. All in all, the bid actually came in less than others we considered--even though more intricate work was being done in Debbie's design. It took longer for the project to start than we were told at first, but we appreciated being kept up to date with where things stood as we waited...and it wasn't a total surprise to us since it was the end of the season. Communication is key for us with contractors and Debbie did a great job with this. It was wonderful to have questions/concerns addressed competently and professionally throughout the process! Unbeknownst to us Debbie even said they'd be back to follow up in the spring...replacing plants that didn't make it, adding more filler sand, etc. We are thrilled with our new patio and raingarden, and more importantly it is serving it's purpose--water drainage. We have received a ton of compliments and we agree...it IS quite gorgeous!!

Debbie was very responsive at every stage. She arrived promptly for the first meeting, had good ideas, helped with selecting the stones, and provided a schedule that worked for us. Her crew was very hard-working and personable. They built the patio in 2.5 days. They did a great job cleaning up the backyard when it was over. Debbie was always around at every stage making sure that things were going well. Also, she said she'd be back next spring to recheck the patio and correct any changes that might have occurred over the winter.

Debbie was great. She came out to a**** the work to be done. She was honest about putting grass back into the backyard (yes over there - it's sunny enough; not under the tree, it will never grow!) They seeded one area for grass (which came up very well,)remulched most of my yard, moved some existing stones and made a nice pathway and added a hardscape patio. It looks great, they were very professional and finished on time. Debbie followed up and stayed in touch to make sure everything was done, and I was happy with the work. I'd definitely work with Twin City Landscape again!!

We selected Twin City Landscaping after getting proposals from a total of three different companies. They seemed to have a good grasp of the entirety of the work we wanted done and had reasonable approaches to address each of the issues posed. The entire job was completed in just two days - this was a huge effort but Debbie knows how to staff a project with enough workers with appropriate skills to complete work on time. They were very responsive to last minute changes/additions and followed up one year later to replace any plants that did not survive their first year. I have never been so pleased with a landscaping project, starting from the 1:1 planning with Debbie to select the desired plants for each area (she had great ideas) to working with the great team of young aspiring landscape architects/workers to put on the final touches. Would highly recommend.
Description of Work: Six separate areas of existing landscaping around our home were either restored or completely redone, including digging out old plants and landscaping rock to replace with new plantings and mulch, replace sparse lawn with new plantings with slate walk and landscaping rock, shore up eroded lawn area with slate walkway, and adding new plants in existing areas.

They did a great job. They cleaned up things nicely each night before they went home. They did a thorough job all around. They were prompt, efficient, clean, courteous of the rest of the property. Had a great crew. It was a great experience all around. HIGHLY recommended. When we actually do something with our backyard, we will call Debbie again to have her do it.
Description of Work: I contracted with Debbie and her crew to remove all the landscaping from my backyard. It consisted of lava rock, old juniper evergreen bushes, a couple of stumps that needed grinding, and other misc shrubs. bushes, etc that needed to be extricated. The kicker is that the backyard has a pool and is surrounded by a fence, so getting heavy equip (BobCat) back there was not an option. After the tear out, then they laid sod.
