Despite being very busy before the first snow came, Jeff came out on a Sunday to get the roofing heat cables up in time for Monday's snow, which I appreciated very much. I also had a lot of questions regarding a roofing and insulation quote I had received from them previously, all of which he was able to answer thoroughly and professionally. Both Rob and Jeff were very good - professional and helpful.

Topside re-roofed and partially installed gutters and downspouts on my house in May of 2014. The workmanship was OK but included a leak that Topside took care of and a molding issue that I took care of. The most serious issue was discovery of an improperly installed and incorrectly sized sheet metal chimney rain cap. The cap prevented proper flue gas venting and furnace operation. This discovery was made when a new furnace was recently installed by the heating contractor. Topside denied any responsibility in the installation of the cap. They maintain that their employees did not install the cap. .

From estimate to billing for services, everyone at Topside was very thoughtful, thorough and professional. They responded quickly, arrived promptly both for estimate and to do the work. They completed the work within the timeframe they had promised, and cleaned up everything when they finished. Their people were always very polite and addressed any questions we had. I would definitely use them again, and would recommend them to friends, neighbors and family.

Contractor did not return phone call.

The 2 men sent to do the job were very efficient and professional. They put down tarps so no carpeting was soiled, cleaned up and vacuumed any spillage. Very good workers and pleasant.

The siding and roof look great, but the roof started leaking this spring (after three years). Topside came out within a week and added caulk, but the roof continued to leak. Topside stopped returning our phone calls until we threatened to file a BBB complaint, then they sent an employee out to take a look but did not take an action to fix the leak. They stopped returning our phone calls again until we actually filed the BBB complaint. In the process of researching our options, we contacted the city of Richfield and found that the final inspection was never completed - Topside did not schedule it. We scheduled it and it failed due to a few workmanship issues and the fact that Topside did not pull the required electrical permits or submit pictures of the roofing in progress (showing the water barrier in place). After more phone calls to Topside and filing a BBB complaint Topside did some work to resolve the leak and fix issues that caused the final inspection to fail. They have not done all the work required to get the inspection to pass, and they have not rescheduled a new inspection. It's now 4 months later and we have filed a complaint with the Department of Labor and Industry because Topside is (again) not returning our phone calls.

Within a week of accepting this contract, our roof was being re-roofed. Everyone on this project from salesman to roofers were excellent. Work was done quietly, quickly and most important correctly. Overall I would choose this company.

Oak branches hanging over our flat residential rubber roof came down in a windstorm. Insurance claim finalized too late in fall/winter of 2013 as winter set in early and never let up. Roof could not be patched as the glue would not dry in winter weather conditions. Into 2014 when the harsh winter started to break, some warm temps again caused leaking into garage and bedroom ceilings (and through the ceiling fan). It was frightening and messy with buckets and catch-alls everywhere whenever the winter weather warmed. Temporary fix of cat litter would slow down the leaking but not stop it altogether. Our Insurance Co. noted their long term relationship and admiration of Topside. Not sure if we should trust our Ins. Co's recommendation, we called and spoke with Topside staff and were impressed from the beginning. From what we knew, and what they were telling us, we could tell they were professionals and experts. Come spring, we were right on top of the situation. I contacted Topside late March 2014 when spring would be approaching and temps supportive of the repair process (hot enough temps so adhesives would cure completely). It was amazing. We hatched a plan in part from Topside's advice of approaching weather. When our planned date of Apr 8 came, Topside texted us and said the next day actually looked better, so they were holding off a day. Wow - experts and flexible on the schedule to accommodate our needs. On April 9, 2014, Topside came and did the job in 1 day. It was an impressive site with the people gathered on the roof - they were awesome to deal with. The roof got patched and it has NEVER functioned as well in the 25+ years we've lived here as it does now. U-n-b-e-l-i-e-v-a-b-l-e. A miracle almost. Topside actually hit the ONE DAY in early April that our roof could get done with the highest probability of 100% cure. Shortly after that, the rain and bad weather returned. Talk about hitting the sweet spot. I still can't believe how it all played out. What a team !!! I was also happy that Topside allowed me to make 2 payments which I covered across 2 paychecks (back to back) (to account for my Ins. Co's $2,000 deductible.) Topside staff were heros in my opinion, all the way around.

Liberty Mutual Ins. Co. recommendation. Called topside and from call number 1 they were caring, curious, and quick to schedule investigation date/time. Assessment was thorough but quick. Estimate received was emailed, and appointment scheduled. Work was planned but when weather looked better the following day I was called, told I needed to wait until a warmer day. On the best day possible, Topside got it done thank god! Perfect job well done!! When Topside began work, they found damage in an extended area. They called, advised/recommended, and assessed what insurance would cover. I ok'd, and they did more than originally estimated, but what needed to be done they submitted a final bill with insurance. Everything went great.

This house had a history of ice dams and bathroom ceiling problems. I was very impressed with the initial consultation and recommendations. TopSide was able to explain how the problems were occurring and give a couple of different options for resolving the situation. I especially appreciated the practical approach and not attempting to up-sell. The job was completed quickly and with very little disruption. I would definitely recommend them and would call them again.

They were a great company to work with. They were easy to communicate with and did quality work. They promptly returned phone calls and answered all our questions. When trying to pick out shingle colors they took the time to drive by houses with shingles we liked. They completed the project in a timely manner. The job site was clean when they left.

The estimator came on schedule, explained what needed to be done and what wasn't necessary, and set a quote that was fair. He advised me to cover things in the garage, which turned out to be a good idea. The Topside team arranged the city permit and posted in on the front door. The work crew showed up early on the first day without rain, worked efficiently, and cleaned up nicely. It turned out that some plywood needed to be replaced, as well as the shingles and tar paper. . The city inspector approved the job.

Scheduled to come out within 2 days of our call Sent 4 men to shovel our very large and very snowy roof-took 3 hours. The men were very polite and hardworking.

After a storm there was a piece of a tree impaling my roof. The insurance company estimator did not include all the steps necessary to return the roof to a good sturdy roof, so the Topside people helped me work with the insurance company to make sure everything was included. I dealt with the company owner, and he was very nice and always seemed to know what he was doing. The crew came when they said they would and seem to have done a good job. (Made it through winter just fine.) The only problems were (1) the workers were really messy -- left lunch wrappers, including chicken bones, etc., in my yard and (2) they missed a piece of siding they were supposed to replace, and I called and let them know and it took 3 months for them to come back to fix it. (It was a small area and took probably less than an hour to remedy.) I didn't pay them till they were done, so it probably hurt them more than it hurt me.

Excellent, timely, hard working crew very polite! Will get quote for a new roof from them.

Contact with Topside was easy, quick and professional. The contractor worked with us to clear up and add items to the list of work with our insurance company which paid for the bulk of the replacement roof. The team showed up when scheduled and completed the job as promised, and cleaned up well. Follow up phone calls were returned promptly. We particularly appreciated the plain language, straight forward contract for services as compared to other quotes we received. The contract language did not requires us to waive remote possibility liabilities or grant unreasonable immunity to the contractor. We still have the yard sign, though.

Rob was very professional. His crew was there when he said they would be. They worked quickly and efficiently to remove the old roof and put on a new roof. When they were finished there was no trash left in my yard. Even the neighbors commented on how well the project turned out.

Repaired leaks and provided some preventative repairs to avoid similar problems in the future.

Rob was on time, pleasant and thorough when he roofed my house. He came by and checked on the job multiple time to make sure everything was running smooth. He addressed any concerns which I had. He and his company did a great job!.

Fast service, the work started 2 days after the down payment was made. No problems with the work. The color of the shingles/gutter on the house were matched. Good communication, calling 2 days before the work was done to make sure the times they were coming were OK. I like Topside because they will take 'smaller' jobs and the owner calls after the work is done to make sure the work went well.

The job went very well. A crew arrive early and started right on time at 7:30 a.m. I was amazed at how quickly the crew removed the old shingles. The shingles where off in less than an hour. They then proceeded to replace a few of the roof boards in order to bring my roof up to code which states less than a 1/2 inch spacing. After that they begin nailing down the tar paper and ice and watershield. The dumpster arrived and every worker came off the roof to load the dumpster with debris from the front of my house. It was tipped back into the garbage truck and filled one more time. After that the dumpster was brought around to the back of the house where it was left on my driveway so it could be fill from the back side of the house. Topside had advised me of the option of leaving the dumpster on my driveway instead of the street. I was able to save the cost of the city street permit by doing that. The shingles arrive approximately at the same time as the dumpster so after the dumpster was filled in the front, the crew started carrying the bundles of shingles up the ladder to the roof and nailing them down. One of the workers constantly walking around picking up debris and using the magnet tool to pick up nails. Since my roof had some spacing, some of the old nails came through into the attic. I asked if I could borrow the magnet to pick up nails on my attic floor. This man insisted on doing it for me. I appreciated that he was able to pick up most of them, making the job of cleaning up the attic so much easier. Everything was also cleaned up very well outside. I expected some of my spring bulbs near my foundation would be trampled and was pleasantly surprised that not a one was damaged. The roof was completed by 2:00 p.m. and looks great. The president of the company came by later that afternoon to make sure that I was satisfied and that all had gone well.

Two men arrived promptly and began work right away. They shoveled until it was all clear and even shoveled the sidewalk and the drive where they had deposited some of the snow from the roof.

They are a great company. I checked their ratings and the BBB before I hired them. They are an extraordinary excellent company.

They were an approved vendor by our insurance company who guaranteed their work. It certainly felt like the owner of the company took that relationship for granted and didn't deliver customer service as a result. He never accompanied his crew or worked/came onsite with them. His crew didn't show up until noon and then worked until around 9 pm. We have small children in our house who were trying to sleep at the time, so we weren't happy. When I called the owner he said he'd check and call me back, and never did. He also didn't finish the job in full immediately. It took a few weeks until he came back to finish the "trim". We had two different contractors at our house (for different reasons) after our roof was repaired. One commented that we had low quality shingles that should be updated. He said most roofing companies upgrade shingle quality at no charge. Another commented that holes were left along the sides, which allowed bats to get into our roof.
