Top Dog Cleaning Crew

I just recently had a duct cleaning done by a reputable company after moving into another home. The time and manner in which they performed the service was well beyond what I had experienced with Top Dog. So, that is why this complaint is being filed after more than 1 yr. Top Dog advertised (and still do) $99 for 10 ducts and $15 for each additional duct. Also, they said there would be an additional nominal charge for being outside of their normal area. My home had 14 ducts, so the service charge should have been $159; however, they charged $400 plus $30 tax. In addition for the exorbitant bill, only one guy was there for 1 hr, failed to clean several of the ducts, and instead of using a large vacuum hose placed at the furnace plenum and compressed air via the vents, they only used a small brush ad vacuum hose via the vents. Clearly, I received unsatisfactory service (now that I know how it should be done) and was grossly overcharged. Its outrageous that Top Dog has an A+ rating with the BBB. I would never recommend their service and disgusted that they are still in operation.

Great experience. Business phone answered promptly and easy appt. scheduling. Received reminder call day before and 30 minute "heads up" call. Andrew was thorough and took his time and was willing to answer questions throughout the process. He made high traffic carpet areas look like new and successfully removed a persistent pet stain. Our house smells so much better with clean ducts. Will definitely use Top Dog again.

Super impressed with the professionalism ~ we recently moved into our home and the vents had never been cleaned. Such peace of mind to know there is nothing lurking in our vents! Andrew explained and shared the process - he used a fresh smelling sanitizer. Super happy and impressed with his service!! Highly Recommend!

Excellent job cleaning. Took about 90 minutes. However, recommend in the future that a tarp be laid down underneath the couch as the cleaning solution that was sprayed drifted onto the carpet and hardwood floors leaving a residue that we have to clean up.

The guy did a good job and knew what he was doing. I did get uncharged a bit for stain and pet removal but final results were very good.

Contractor arrival was within the specified time range. All of my questions and concerns were addressed prior to the start of the cleaning process. A plan was developed to limit the amount of time my pets would have to be in their carriers. The cost for the service was tallied and agreed to prior to the start of the cleaning process. The contractor was polite and professional. The drying time took longer than estimated, but considering it was conducted in the winter, I'm not sure what more could have been expected.

We would highly recommend this company. Based on their high ratings on Angie's List, as well as recommendations from friends, our expectations were high when we hired them. They exceeded our expectations. Very responsive and professional. Would definitely hire them again.

Great !! Service was excellent and the guys were very knowledgeable. They were able to get "puppy stains of all sorts" off that had been there for a few months !! I will definitely have them again. My 2 dogs loved them too !!!!

We are very satisfied. Communications were great. It took a few days to connect about a service date, but that was on me for not responding quickly. I got a text the day before to confirm, a text the day of to tell me the name of the tech, a call 30 minutes before his arrival. I really appreciated this stream of information. Jim arrived on time, counted up the vents and gave us a price prior to beginning the work. He also told us how he would go through the house, and the steps he would take, so we weren't surprised by the process in any way. After he'd done a few of the vents, he pointed out that they were really dirty, and offered to sanitize them once they were all cleaned out. Given the years since they were last done, we decided to have that service done as well, for an additional charge. The dryer vent was also cleaned as a bonus deal with our original arrangement. He worked methodically around the house, He was professional, pleasant, respectful, and friendly. The house feels much cleaner and more pleasant now -- it's an invisible improvement, but a real step forward in our home.

All went well did a great job friendly on time and prices were very fair.

They were responsive. Called before coming. Arrived on time. Andrew was very clear in terms of what he suggested be done and was not at all pushy. I had recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and was starting chemotherapy. I wanted to make sure the air ducts were clean and sanitary to decrease my exposure to molds, dust, allergans, viruses and bacteria when my white blood cell counts would be decreased and my risk for infection would be high. Andrew suggested I have the ducts disinfected as well as cleaned which I did, as well as cleaning my furnace. He and Matt completed the work in a timely manner in the 2 hour window they had specified and left my home neat and tidy. The service wasn't cheap but it left me feeling reassured and when I saw some of the things that came out of the vents (a large number of brittle old poker chips that had probably been in there since the 1950's! Obviously fed in there by some ingenious little children.) it was obvious the vents had not been thoroughly cleaned for a long time!!

On time, friendly. Did great work. Took the time to show me the air vents before cleaning and after cleaning. Watched the process and was very happy with the results. We would not hesitate to use this company again.

Excellent job. Really liked the professionalism, attitude, punctuality and honesty. Very nice people to work with. They did an excellent job and we will very happily hire them any time we need carpet cleaning and duct cleaning.

Needed a really good cleaning of the downstairs carpet and there were pet-related stains. If it didn’t clean up well, I would have to replace carpet, which I was hoping to avoid. Andrew and team arrived promptly and were efficient and thorough. Best of all, carpet looked great after they finished, every stain was gone! Gave a B on price because it wound up being twice as much as phone quote since I chose to add the suggested sanitizing process, which made sense in my situation (selling house), but I think optional items could have been mentioned earlier. Still, I’m sure I would have hired them anyway; I appreciate the safer products since small paws cross this carpet often. Overall, great job and great experience!

Jim arrived well within the 2-hour window & performed carpet cleaning on our stairs, landings, & one bedroom & upholstery cleaning on our living room sectional & chair. He was professional & pleasant to work with. The house feels so much better & the carpet is definitely cleaner & smells fresh. We have a large older dog who causes some “issues” with our carpet, but Top Dog did a great job treating the pet stains. The price was higher than the estimate provided over the phone, but this was mostly due to treating the pet stains. This is typical for carpet cleaning companies, it seems. Overall, I was very satisfied with their work. I’ll call them again this summer when it’s time to do the other bedrooms. Crossing this one off my spring cleaning “to do” list. :)

Andrew, the owner and co-worker Matt arrived early in the "time of arrival window". Both were friendly and professional. Since I have 3 pets, I was very concerned about having NO chemicals used in the cleaning process which was the reason for choosing this company. The guys did a great cleaning job at a very competitive price and left no mess for me to clean up. They were also helpful in moving furniture. Andrew made genuine recommendations to help preserve the condition of the carpets without being pushy or trying to create add on sales.

Carpet looked and smelled great when they were done.
