I contacted them to get an estimate. I got a reasonable one and told then I wanted to go ahead with the work. They started about a week later and the first day of work took a few hours. They had to let it dry and came back a week later to finish. The second day took even less time. The texture is a perfect match and the color is close, but I was told that it would continue to change over the next few months. I received a bill in the mail a few days after they finished and it was for the exact same amount as the estimate. We will definitely call them in the future!
Description of Work: They removed a really bad patch job and put on new stucco. It was a smallish patch, about 4x4 feet. They came one day to remove the old patch and put in new chicken wire and cement and came back a week later to put on the final coat.

2 owners of Think Stucco spent a lot of time over the span of many visits to our home to help us problem solve this extensive project. They were always professional and courteous. Their crew was prompt, efficient, and professional. Our home looks great again!
Description of Work: Exisiting stucco was removed due to damage of surrounding window trim. Full replacement of stucco was found to be more cost effective than repair. New acrylic stucco finish was put in place with beautiful results.

Responsiveness was excellent. Returned my call the same day, quickly scheduled a vist to estimate, and provide a written estimate within two days. We were able to schedule the work and get it done before winter prevented the work. Work was well done, on time, and on price. I considered giving them a B on the price only because they were the most expensive of the three estimates, but I chose them inspite of that and still feel I received good value.
Description of Work: I had a patch of stucco buckling and crumbling away from an exterior wall. I needed to have that patched before winter and before water and ice got behind it to do more damage.

We called Donnelly Brothers and one of the Donnellys came out exactly at the time promised. Given the situation, we would have been in no position to argue but after an inspection he said that no work was required. Ok, so it's a minor thing but he also went into detail as to why no work was required. Who knew there was that much involved with stucco?Even though they didn't do any work for us, I'm definitely calling them if I ever need some exterior work done.

The experience was great. I contacted them, got a bid, and they came and did the stucco work without deviating from the bid. They even negotiated the price.
Description of Work: Stucco'd a new addition to our home, patched around some new windows and patched some cracked areas as well. I cannot believe how well the new stucco matches the old stucco--I can't even tell the difference. These guys are amazing at what they do. And they patched a few problem areas in the existing stucco at no extra charge. I did a lot of shopping around and am very confident these is the best company in the Twin Cities for stucco work. Very professional, punctual and excellent customer service.

We are finishing the basement in our 1921 Bungelow. With the downstairs stairwell connected to two foundation walls it did not allow for enough room to frame out the walls and sheetrock them. So the best alternative was plastering them. I called multiple firms listed in the plastering category on Angie's List and found out that most of them are just drywall type companies. Larry from Think Stucco came out to look at our project. Larry is very knowledgeable. Given our basement is below grade he wanted to make sure we knew the best way to do it whether or not they got the project. He recommended a Portland based cement product and not Gypsum. I had some other people out that wouldn't even take the project because they only did Gypsum and would not warranty their work. Larry provided a quote on the spot and let us know he could do it right away. The price was reasonable and we decided on them. It took three days to do the project. The first day was doing the metal lathe work. The second was putting in some of the cement to get the wall somewhat square. The wall was so out of alignment that they couldn't do it in one trip. They finished the work the next day. The result is amazing. The walls are laser straight and look fantastic! Our expectations were far exceeded. They are definitely craftsmen. Given our project was challenging Larry wanted to make sure that our expectations were met. They definitely were I would totally recommend them for your project. I am a perfectionist and I get the feeling that they are even more of one than me.

The outside of my house was in pretty bad shape and desperately in need of a face lift. Many years ago we mistakenly painted the stucco, thinking it would be an improvement. Little did we know painting stucco was a big no-no. It wasn't long before the paint was blistering and pealing and looking really shabby. I called 'Think Stucco' (and several other companies) to get an estimate as to how much it would cost to re-do the stucco. Mark returned my call with-in a day and said he would stop by and take a look. No other company had returned my calls at that point. He stated that the old paint would have to be sand blasted off. This was the worst part of the entire job. Not the company that did the sand blasting, (they were great!) just the messiness of the process. Our house is old and the sand came in through every nook and cranny. I'll be dealing with the sand for years! Mark sent a color sample book for us to select the color. The sample book has very little squares of color and it was hard to get an idea from them. He also sent us a list of addresses that they had done so that we could get a better idea what the color looked like on a house. I went online to 'Google Earth' and looked up the addresses and then did a street view to look at the houses. It worked wonderfully. We were able to pick a color (Dark Buff) and schedule the job. The crew that showed up to do the work was here promptly at 7:30 to begin. The crew chief(?) introduced himself to me (I think his name was Sean?) and told me what I could expect. He was confident they would be done before I would be home from work and they were! I was absolutely delighted when I got home and my house looked beautiful! The scaffolding was gone and the yard was cleaned up. Everything looked great! My only disappointment (and this is really minor) is that I have to pay via a check. It would be so much better if I could transfer the funds via PayPal or some other online way. Considering everything from start to finish this was one of the best experiences we have had dealing with a company.
Description of Work: Think Stucco was excellent to work with. My calls and e-mails were returned/answered promptly, and all questions were answered fully. I worked with Mark setting up the work, he gave me an estimate and explained the cost. I felt the estimate was fair. I had done a little home work and heard really good things about this company.

They promptly responded to my request for a bid and walked me through the work I requested. He also gave me helpful advice about the condition of my stucco and what I might want/need to do to sell my house (which I'm planning in the future). Before they came to do the work, they called to let us know that they would be banging on the walls and I should take down any breakables. They worked quickly and professionally. The finished project is fabulous and blends very well with my existing stucco. I'm very very pleased with their work.

From bid to completion Think Stucco was great to work with. The bid was detailed without being overwhelming. All my questions were answered with professionalism and knowledge, never felt like my questions were an imposition of Rich's (the estimators) time. The workers sent to my home were professional and again took the time to answer my questions as the work was started. These two gentleman were true professionals, you could see the level of pride that was put into the work. The first day was removal of the damaged area of stucco and installing the moisture barrier, lath and the base coat of stucco. The clean up was spectacular! They had tarped under the area in which they were working and swept up any stray pieces. They had to return to complete the job, same crew came back to my home. Again the entire area was tarped for spotless clean up. My questions were again answered with professionalism and expertise. The finish work was amazing! The new stucco is a perfect match to the approx. 50 year old stucco. I am so pleased and proud of the work that was done at my house. I would recommend Think Stucco to anyone needing any type of stucco work.
Description of Work: Started with an estimate to repair an area of water damage to the exterior stucco. Work performed was removal of approximately 8 x 3 section of stucco. Install moisture barrier and heavy duty metal lath and new stucco to match.

We were very impressed with every aspect of our experience with Donnelly Brothers. I contacted Mark Donnelly for a quote to re-dash our house. Our stucco had been painted so I also had several questions about what options there were for making the house look better (re-paint or re-dash? Sandblasting neeeded? etc.). Mark was very helpful, providng factual answers without a sales job. We were promptly provided a very professionally prepared written quote that was a couple thousand dollars cheaper than a competitor. We did have to hire a sandblaster (to remove the paint from our stucco) on our own, but Mark assisted in that endeavor by recommending a company, providing their contact information, and even letting us know what the expcted price would be (which was exactly what the price ended up being). Prior to the stucco work, we had several questions for Mark about coordinating insulation work, installation of railings and window boxes, and timing of a street resurfacing project that was planned. Mark was always helpful, cooperative, and flexible with all of our inquiries and project coordination needs. A couple days before the job started we decided that we wanted to re-dash the garage also. Mark promptly gave us a fair quote to add that work to the job and ensured the agreement was documented in writing before the job started. Donnelly coordinated with the sandblasting company for the installaion of the scaffolding and kept us informed of the plans and schedule, including rain delays. Larry Baker from Donnelly Brothers met with us the day before to the stucco started to help us pick a color and texture. Larry was also very knowledgeable, helpful and courteous. He explained different texture options and that stucco colors will change slightly with humidity, and that the stucco will initially be lighter in color than its final color. This was helpful to know so we didn't think that the wrong color was applied when the intial application was lighter than expected. The work was completed in two days and the workers were very courteous, neat, and accomodating of us getting in and out of the house on occasion during their work. They took special care to protect our landscpaing from damage by laying drop cloths and carefully wrapping each plant with paper. The workers were also very friendly to our two dogs, which we appreciated. The stucco work was completed in two days and the scaffold was promptly removed and yard cleaned up. The stucoo itself turned out beautifully. We would highly recommend Donnelly Brothers (Think Stucco) for any stucoo work. We were pleased with every aspect of the job.

This project started small and got much bigger than we expected. Previous owner had poorly installed windows and did not correctly install roofing. Donnelly Brothers consulted on stucco issues, and they helped us realize magnitude of the underlying problems. Through their recommendation, we hired a general contracting company to oversee repairing roofs, gutters, and replacing rotting exterior walls. Rich Donnelly was responsive, and helped keep this project on track to be completed before winter set in. We look forward to the finished coat.
Description of Work: Removed siding on back dormer, replaced with stucco removed 10'x10' area of damaged stucco and replaced repaired damaged stucco around windows repaired and installed portion of rain table foundation created a stucco support for a flower window box second finishing coats of stucco still to be completed in warmer weather and not included in the amount spent so far.

Stucco was deteriorating on one part of house. Rich Connelly came to provide an estimate of repair. He explained that the situation was not too bad and is not likely to get worse anytime soon. The work could be deferred or I could do a small patch job myself and have it last for quite a while. I was concerned that the exposed area could lead to future structural damage, but Rich said that was unlikely. So I'm saving my money for other things needing fixing. Other contractor bids readily seized upon the opportunity for a job w/o telling me the job may not be necessary. Rich also looked around the property and provided other useful tips on things that could be done.

Donnelly Brothers, through my general contractor, matched the existing house stucco for a new porch addition. They were a well- oiled machine in how they masked off the area and prepared for the actual process of applying stucco. And it is a perfect match. Must to my surprise, one of the workers remembered that they did the original stucco job on the house before I owed it! And they were thorough in the clean up.
