We couldn't be happier with the process and final product. The project took three days to complete, with John's team working 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. each day (i.e. all the work was done while we were at work). Each day that we arrived home we were blown away by both the progress made and cleanup of the work space. The final price came in about $300 below our estimate, also a plus! Though it was perhaps, it total, more than we planned to spend when first envisioning this project, I do think with painting companies that you get what you pay for... and, in particular, I found their wall and ceiling repair work to be top-notch.

John and his team were extremely professional and we were impressed by the quality of their work. They were clean and tidy each day, and took extra care and effort to minimize the mess that is necessary for the work they did. John and his team had excellent communication, letting us know on a daily basis how the work was progressing and forecasting any issues that may arise. They took no shortcuts and did a thorough and detailed job. We could not be more satisfied with the quality of their work.

Exterior prepped and painted garage doors to match as well as exterior back door. Painted all the thresholds and raw wood surfaces from remodeling. Prepped and painted all vents, piping anything with the old house color on it to blend with the new color scheme. Repainted areas in the house that were damaged or scraped from moving furniture and did finish work from contractor. John consulted for color matching and types of paints to be used. The crew came and went as needed - hardly noticed they were here except for beginning and end of day conversations.

It went very well. I contacted Magic Painting Company, they did an estimate quickly that aligned with about what the insurance adjuster thought it should cost (a rarity these days--the other bidders were at three and four times the cost). While I still felt like it cost too much, the quality and speed of work was very good. The work has stood up through subsequent heavy use and looks like it will fare well over the winter. I couldn't be happier.

John and his crew are fantastic. This is the second time they've painted for us, and I will never use anyone else. Top quality work, attention to detail, super-thorough cleanup, and nice people to have around.

This provider charges a 'service fee' of $45 to just come to the property and provide an estimate on the project. The fee is rolled into the cost of service if you choose to contract with them - but in the world of bidding contractors - this is a big NO NO. FYI Magic - there are so many great contractors out there who are willing to meet and discuss the job at no charge. Charging an up front fee for a estimate visit easily lost you this job.

This project involved a good potion of our home's interior. The work was done quickly and the results were very nice. Several areas had to be repaired with plaster or sheetrock . We are very pleased with the end result. This is the second time we've used Magic Painting on large projects. Always a professional, friendly team. John, the owner goes over all aspects of the project in great detail. I would recommend Magic Painting for interior or exterior jobs.

I was very pleased with John's availability and his willingness to work with my schedule and timeline. They were extremely professional and responsive. The rooms looked great, the door took quite a bit longer than anticipated. When the door was finished painting, the paint seemed quite chalky, almost like a primer. It just did not have the smooth satiny finish I would expect to see on a front entry door. John came out and realized that a flat paint was used on the door, which did not present well. So they came back repainted the door and screen door in a semi gloss -- door looks nice now. My sense of why the front door took so long was having to schedule the job again with other projects they were working on. The threshold and molding replaced around the front door looks great and was done beautifully. It was not an simple project and I appreciated the many trips John had to make to get the correct molding style, hinges, wood, stain, et al.

They were extremely nice to work with. John is very patient and knowledgeable about the service and products they are using. Kevin and David are fantastic guys to work with on site. Their work is top notch. They listened and took care of the customer's request. Highly recommended!

Magic's crew was professional, tidy and efficient on the job. In addition, John was helpful with advice about colors.

This was the 4th or 5th time I've used Magic Painting, and I've always been pleased with John's responsiveness, professionalism, and the quality of the work performed. As is the case with any contracting work, I'm certain I could find someone cheaper, but with Magic Painting I know that I'm getting superior service, and that his employees are being paid a living wage. I would highly recommend Magic Painting for any interior or exterior painting work.

John was very responsive as was his crew Kevin and David who worked on the project. They kept me informed and explained any time I had a question.. The garage looks great. Also, they did some interior window sash repair and painting for me at the last minute. They will be back to do interior painting. They were polite, professional, personable. Respectful of property and privacy. Couldn't possibly have had a better experience.

It went great. John at The Magic Painting Company was very responsive and the job was done as quickly as the weather permitted. John explained that they were scheduled out a while but certain parts of the job could get started right away, which they did. Even came out on a rainy day and power washed the deck. It's a very large deck with square wooden spindles about 3 inches apart so the job was tedious to the extreme. The deck went from ugly to beautiful; can't ask for more than that.

The job went well. We met with John multiple times to discuss our options and for him to show us paint/stain samples. The project was delayed because of rain, but when it finally was able to start, it went smoothly. John's bid was one of the higher bids, but after meeting with him, we felt he could do the job the best and to the highest quality. We have been pleased with his work on this project.

Minor repairs to wood trim, prep and paint trim.

John Armstrong was knowledgeable about our primary problem, which was chronic peeling of exterior paint due to poor surface preparation prior to painting done by a previous owner. John was good at communicating what he recommended we do to solve the problem and why. He offered two different approaches with different costs and gave his best judgment regarding the advantages and disadvantages of the two options. John's approach to the project was well organized and very business like. His bid, which essentially became our contract once it was signed, gave a detailed breakdown of each task and whether it was a firm quote or an estimate for a task to be done on a time-and-materials basis. The price was closely comparable to another high quality painter who bid on the job, but John's quote included painting the entire exterior, whereas the other painter's quote included painting only the peeling areas. John's quote was substantially more than a third painter who bid on the project. The approach proposed by the third painter to solve the peeling paint problem was less extensive than John's. I ultimately decided to pay more for a more thorough job. The work was well done. The two painters who actually performed the work were capable and easy to communicate with. One painter was clearly designated as the leader, making it clear with whom I should discuss any issues that arose during the project. John Armstrong came to the job site each day, reviewed any details with his crew, and solicited my opinion regarding how the work was going. I did experience a few minor problems, primarily small drops of paint on furniture during the interior painting portion of the project. The crew was very responsive to my request to clean the paint drops from the furniture and minimize them going forward. If I need more painting in the future, I will certainly use Magic Painting again.

Mark is very thorough suggested good solutions to concerns. Crew was polite and professional. Did an excellent job. We're punctual and courteous. Have gotten compliments on their work. Would recommend them.

Worked with John through the bid process. He provided a very detailed quote and provided us house-owning newbies lots of education on painting. We asked him to modify his bid a couple times while we weighed our priorities. John was willing to accommodate and was very timely with his revised bids, and also conducted follow-up calls. He clearly cares a lot about quality and we have no doubt he would see to it and stand behind it. We received quotes from other painters and John was by far the most responsive and detailed in his bids. We decided not to move forward with the project once we learned more about home much it costs to paint a house (again house newbies). Despite not hiring him, he was great to work with.

Work was completely timely, friendly and professional service. I look forward to the opportunity to refer The Magic Painting Company to others.

All the appointments came on time. Reasonable price. Detail oriented. Finished job professionally. I will have them work for us again , whenever we need painting again.

Exterior was great. They have painted our garage in the past and it has held up well. One of the student/apprentices did the interior wooden shade, which was peeling badly. He just painted over it, old paint and all, with a shade of white that did not match. It looked bad, so they came back and removed the initial paint-over and had a custom white made to match the original. It looks good as new now.

We hired him for the work because his price was the best out of everyone we received estimates from. The work turned out excellent. I thought that the price was very fair. John, the owner, is very easy to work with. He knows what he is doing and he did a great job!

We were extremely pleased with the work of John and his crew. They showed up early every day, were conscientious about prepping all areas affected by the job, got the job done efficiently and on time, and cleaned up every day. They asked appropriate questions to make sure the work was done as we expected, and offered to do repairs if it would make for a higher-quality finish. They were easy to work with, considerate of our space, and liked our dogs!
