Magic is great! Evan and John are a pleasure to work with. I've used them for several exterior and interior projects over the last 3 years. I'm so comfortable with them that I don't even bid out my painting work anymore. I just call Magic because I know they'll do an exceptional job. I gave them a C in their pricing because they tend to be quite expensive relative to other painters out there. However, I think their service, professionalism, courtesy and work product more than make up for the price differential. They also tend to come in over their bids. Having worked with them for a while, I just take that into consideration when I hire them. If you're working with them for the first time, expect the final price to be higher.

If you are going to have guys crawling over your house for a week, these are the guys you want. We can't say enough good things about John, Evan, Bobby and Sean. From the initial power-washing to the finishing touches, they were courteous, convivial, immaculate in their work and clean-up, nice to our dog, totally patient with our inexperience (this is the first time we have ever hired anyone to do anything like this) and they just generally did a great job. From the beginning, John was sensitive to the needs of our project and the issues inherent working on an older home. He always calls when he says he will. The end cost was higher than the original estimate, but some of the wood was in worse shape than anticipated. Before doing the extra work, John discussed the options with us and made some helpful recommendations. He also picked out some great colors; our house is not only better protected, but so much prettier.

These guys are great. They kept us informed of everything that needed to be done and offered options for how much they could do and what it would cost. They worked every day all day for quite a few weeks until the job was done. They also fixed some storm damage that occurred the last day even though it was not part of the initial job. They always went out of their way to be courteous, professional and did great work. We have certainly never worked with such a great painting team before!

It was a wonderful experience with John and all his staff members. The bid was all in writing and explained throughly. We were updated daily on process, problems, and cost overruns. They did a wonderful job helping with selection of colors and hearing what we were looking for. They respected and cleaned up our home while on the job site. The one thing I really appreciated was as the job was ending they asked us to look at their work and point out any flaws or problems that we would like corrected. We did this, and it really helped us make sure that we were getting what we wanted before John and his staff left.

I called The Magic Painting Company for an estimate on painting a deck. John called back the same day and told me that they were not taking on small projects at this time. I appreciated his timely response.

It ended up being a bit more extensive than originally described. I felt that was to be expected and was not disturbed whatsoever that more work was required to do the job right. The crew was responsive and I felt confident in their effort. The final pricing seemed fair and I will certainly use the company again.

We were very pleased with the quality of workmanship on our project. It is rare anymore, when you can shake hands with the crew and see the owner of the company with a touch up brush. I would whole heartedly recommend Magic to anyone looking for work that you want to last.

An extraordinary experience. I used to run painting crews, so I was very selective in the company I chose to paint our house. John's bid wasn't the cheapest, nor was it the most expensive. They took their time and got everything done correctly, to our exact specifications, and did it cheerfully. They completed the project within their estimates of time and money, and sought our input daily. They VACUUMED our yard (!), our neighbor's yard, and our neighbor's roof when paint chips or other debris would wander. This is a crew of professionals who go way beyond slapping paint on the house and getting done quickly to maximize profits; they were interested in improving our home. They did carpentry when needed, washed windows, and pointed out other areas on the house that might need maintenance that was beyond their expertise. Additionally, John really seems to care about his crew members and their well-being, which is reflected in the happiness, work and conscientiousness of the crew.

John & crew completed the project in 3 days as quoted. They were flexible in changing colors and did a great job matching the rest of the house. Great quality and superb clean up.

The expectations of the project were clear from start to finish, and a high quality craftsmanship was maintained. Evan & crew did a great job in repainting our 3 bathrooms and ceilings. They did a good job of patching walls before, painting they cleaned up very well, and vacuumed the whole area.

John & team did exactly what I wanted in a timely, and professional manner. As color & design issues came up, I was contacted immediately for input before work continued. Completed on time & within original estimate.

This is a very professional company. Estimate was detailed and was actually an estimate not a fixed price. The project went according to plan and the result was very good. Workers were skilled and professional in manner. My only reservation about the company is the price. Not that it is not worth it, but it is more than I want to pay. The estimate was not far from the final cost and I went about the project too fast. Since I agreed with the estimate. I should have gotten other bids.

John made the whole experience fun! He encouraged out creativity & delved into areas of color that we never would have on our own. The end result was a thousand times better than we could have ever hoped. Our home now reflects who we are & is a haven. Evan & Bill brought fun & joy into the painting itself & did a marvelous job.

John seemed very honest, and I got the impression he'd do a great job painting our house. The biggest issue was that we ideally wanted to paint it this year, and also his estimate was nearly twice that of other companies.

John was very nice and professional but the price was way out of our budget. While I admire his philosophy the price was way out of our range, double of who did the work ( ho did a fine job). I suppose if you have a very historic home or a lot of money to spend they would be fine. John was very upfront and explained all the work. The labor time was double though of the company I used. He is very environmentally conscious which is nice. I put no on use again because of the price. In a different situation I may have used them.

Very nice, but gave the strong impression that he didn't want to take on a large project. Regardless, we've decided to hold off on the work for the time being.

The representative that came to quote was very professional and on time. Sounded like they would do a very thorough job. We are planning to move next year and didn't want to spend quite as much as they were quoting. Just wanted to make the house look nicer. If we were planning on staying and wanted a top quality job I would definitely consider using this company.

John his staff (Evan and Bill) were great to work with. John worked with us to get the numbers into our reach (we did some pre-work and the painting of the windows on our own to help save on costs). During the job, they checked in with us frequently on the progress and were quick to address any concerns. Overall, they do high quality work and I would hire them again in an instant!

This is the second time we've used Magic. Our first project was exterior. They are the best painters I've ever worked with. They are meticulous, neat and very good to work with. They're a little pricey, but well worth the money.

John, Evan, and Bill were all very professional. The price was reasonable. The total job was beautiful. John was very patient with extensive color consulting. The entire crew was very quality conscious, and even so, John caught a couple of misses and ordered some rework which was done the next day. We came to trust the entire team, and especially John's eye for color and how that would match our wants. John is very professional with prompt communication by both telephone and email. Careful cleanup was done daily and at the end of the project.

WE CHOSE MAGIC PAINTING BECAUSE OF THEIR INTEREST IN PRESERVING THE HISTORICAL INTEGRITY OF THE HOUSE AND ALSO BECAUSE THEY ARE WILLING TO SET UP A SERVICE PLAN FOR UPKEEP OF THIS PAINT JOB IN THE FUTURE. JOHN ARMSTRONG, THE OWNER, IS VERY GOOD AT KEEPING TRACK OF DETAILS AND IS FUN TO WORK WITH. HE HAD GREAT PATIENCE WITH US WHEN WE COULDN'T DECIDE ON THE PAINT COLORS. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.
