This paint job was for a condo that my father recently purchased. It was in need of a paint job prior to moving in. Tim was very accommodating to our time frame. He even worked late, the day of closing, to finish the job. Good quality paint job at price below other bids.

I called Tim looking to start a painting project ASAP. He came out within a couple days to do the estimate, and the work was underway within less than a week. His estimate was competitive, and the job was done well. Tim was responsive to phone calls and emails to answer any questions I had during the project. I would certainly use Tim again in the future, and recommend him to anyone looking to get a quality paint job done.

We gave Tim a short window to accomplish the painting before our furniture arrived. He provided a very competitive bid and was able to work with our schedules. He told us what he was going to do, why he was going to do each phase, what materials he would use, when he would do it and what the finished product would look like. The work was done, on time, within budget. The finished product exceeded our expectations. There was no overspray or drips. He was in and out with no muss or fuss. He made it easy on us. I will use him again.

Tim and his crew were very attentive to what we requested. The results are excellent. I am very pleased and would call him first for my next project. I especially liked that Tim was very flexible because we deleted and added to the project a few times. He communicated well and always quickly answered emails and calls. He fixed promptly any items we had concerns about. He finished the project with in original time estimate.

This was a restoration job of a 1925 Dutch Colonial. Tim and his crew did a great job and got our house back to its former splendor. Tim was able to accommodate our ever growing list of items to do. He was always on time and completed the job in the time expected. I will hire him again for my next project. His crew was very kind and respectful. It was a big job and they really worked hard.

The project went very well. Tim was able to work us into his schedule and worked late several nights to complete our project on time and on budget. He was even able to negotiate differences between my wife and I regarding colors and project scope. Tim was a pleasure to work with on this project and we would certainly hire him again.
Description of Work: We were moving into our new home and wanted our entry way, living room, 3 bedrooms and trim painted before we moved our furniture into the house. Tim was very responsive in getting out to our house to meet us and provide an estimate.

I called Tim on short notice, hoping to get my new house painted before the carpet installers came and before I moved in. Given the tight timeframe, Tim worked with me to prioritize which work /must/ be done before the carpet, which he could work on later, and which easy stuff he could leave for me. Tim was responsive, flexible and professional. And the results are wonderful--so happy I don't have to look at "sell the house taupe" on every wall. I'd be happy to work with Tim again.

The job went well and we were satisfied with the outcome. Tim is meticulous and does a good job, though he works by himself (at least on our project) and so large jobs are completed over time.
Description of Work: This job included patching of drywall (requiring multiple days and coats) then painting the main floor level. Tim was very straightforward at the time of the estimate about what defects the paint would cover (ie previous brush strokes from prior patient jobs) and we were able to negotiable extra work (trying to cover up those brush strokes) on the walls that were most important to us.

I?m very pleased to recommend Tim Schaub as a painter. He did an excellent job painting three interior rooms on the main floor of our hundred year old home. The house has a great deal of painted woodwork, including crown molding, picture molding, archways, doors and window trim. The rooms had not been painted in twenty years. They now look fabulous. I?m extremely pleased that we also asked him to paint the stairway instead of carpeting it. It?s now a wonderful feature of the foyer and makes me happy every time I go up and down the stairs! Tim did all of the work himself and did not use any additional crew. The price included $600 for materials. He used AquaLock to prime the woodwork. We chose Benjamin Moore Advance Latex for the trim and Benjamin Moore Aura paint for the walls. Everything had two coats of paint. Tim is very easy to work with and we were quite comfortable having him in our home. The rooms were cleaned up and his tools were stored nice and neat when he finished at the end of each day. Rooms were sealed off during sanding. He sanded, caulked, cleaned, primed and painted. Tim was very willing to go the extra mile in making sure the walls were smooth and he was very careful to make sure the paint would adhere properly when doing the stairs. Tim is a detailed painter who does quality work. He is very quick to fix any problems that arise and has great customer service. His communication style is excellent. He always returned emails and phone calls right away. He is an honest, trustworthy and reliable workman who obviously takes great pride in his work. And in our home, he has much to be proud of. We had Tim bid on several rooms in the house, including the bathroom and front porch, which we have not done yet. His bids were thorough, detailed, well-organized and easy to understand. There was a span of several months between the time that Tim did his initial bids and when we decided to move ahead with the project. He was very patient and understanding and willing to work with us to schedule which rooms to do first. We will definitely have him back again to do the bathroom and porch.
Description of Work: -- Living Room, Dining Room, Foyer: Prep, caulk, prime and paint trim, entry door and walls. -- Stairway: Prep, caulk, prime and paint treads, risers, skirt board and spindles. -- Strip and Re-stain top of stairway railing.

The painting project went well, even though the paint removal process was challenging due to the lead. Tim was very professional and willing to discuss his ideas and plans for the project. They did a good job at preparing the house for painting, doing the actual painting and cleaned up the site well. All members of his team were very pleasant to work with and respectful. They did a quality and thorough job and I would definitely use their services again.
Description of Work: Tim Schaub and his team washed the exterior of my house, then used a peel-away product on two sides of house to take off the leaded paint (following the EPA safety guidelines). After the preparation they took care to level the wood surface for a smoother wood surface. Then they painted the house and even reinstalled the shutters.

We chose Tim based on the 3 bids from highly rated A-List providers. His bid was on par with the others - but we liked the detail of his estimate. Plus we liked that Tim lived relatively close, had a small crew, and was easy to work with. He likes restoration - that is, restoring things back to the original wood. Our windows and trim were wrapped in aluminum - true, the painted alluminim is lower maintenance, but doesn't have the same charm. The team spent about 6 weeks doing the project - it was extended due to rain and due to the carpentry. We put about 1/3 of the original bid, or $1700 down to book, then balance due upon completion. All the storms were removed, then all the wrap was removed. There was more rot than expected - this bumped the price up ~ $2000 due to L&M for the rotten wood. Tim's carpenter Marc is amazing - all the window pieces (sills, trim, etc) look fantastic. Tim and the team pressure washed the house, then sprayed and backbrushed the stucco (twice). The upper and lower have two different colors. They only use Hirshfield's high quality acrylic latex paint. The trim pieces were primed (if new) and painted. The old trim that was salvageable was sanded - then they applied this rubber cement like material on it to prevent the old paint from peeling before painting. All the windows were reglazed if needed before the sashes replaced. The trim around the windows and doors was caulked. The team was clean, covering everything that needed covering. The house was drab before the paint job - the brown paint on the aluminum was dripping down. Now the house looks happy and new. The neighbors are talking all the time about how much better the house looks and they really commend Tim and his team for their excellent work. You will NOT be sorry if you hire Tim Schaub and team - you will get a VERY high quality paint job for a competitive price.
Description of Work: We have a 1920s stucco two story 4 square house. All the trim was wrapped in aluminum. The house had been painted in the past, but all the paint was coming off the stucco. We hired Tim and his team to remove all the aluminum wrap and paint the entire exterior and trip. Upon removing the trim wrap, there was wood rot - Tim's carpenter Marc did work to rebuild the wood frames.

Tim was excellent to work with. He is prompt, he is communicative, and he does a thorough job. As for price, Tim stayed within estimate and even came in a bit under when the job was done. I felt fairly treated and that the price was worth the effort. I will definitely use Tim again for future interior and exterior painting projects, and I recommend you give him a call if you are considering a paint contractor.
Description of Work: Tim painted my son's room after we purchased a new home in Minneapolis. The quality of work was excellent, and he even gave me some pointers on rooms that I planned to paint myself due to budget constraints. He didn't have to do that, and it showed me that he cares beyond just doing the job and leaving with a check.

Tim did a great job. The walls and ceiling in my kds' bedroom were a mess of layers of wallpaper, paint, and textured ceiling over cracks and holes. The room now has smooth walls and ceiling with a fresh coat of paint. It looks great. Tim also did a good job of keeping things clean during process.

When the job was supposed to be done, they hadn't actually done everything so they had to come back and finish some things. The owner was very easy to work and showed up when he said he was going to. He was actually out of town and had someone else do the work so part of me wonders if that was why it didn't go quite as well as we thought it would. The job got done; it wasn’t awesome but it was good and fine. We probably would not use them again.

The job went mostly as planned, but the walls were stained and the stains bled through the tape and the plaster. So, it required an extra coat. They charged me for the extra paint but stuck to the estimate for the labor. They did a great job.

Project went very well from start to finish. Where there were surprises such as some heavy paint removal from columns, additional estimates were provided and work performed. Tim Schaub and his group of experts (painters, carpenters, drywall/plasterers) are hard working, mature, polite and dependable. The work was always done with plastics taped to protect furnishings clean drop cloths, and a final vacuuming. Hazardous materials/ scrapings were disposed of properly. They used good materials, showed up when they said they would be available, cleaned up each day and left no messes over the weekends. We have lived in our home for nearly 40 years and have never experienced such professional service before. We requested estimates from several Angie's List members, but Tim Schaub's was the only estimate to break down the work into thoughtful, excel style business format. It was a pleasure to do business with Mr. Schaub and his company. We highly recommend Tim Schaub Painting.
Description of Work: Powerwashing, scraping, priming wood siding, windows, columns of 101 year old house exterior that had not seen much work for around 10 or more. Walls and ceiling painting, repair were done on the interior. Also, repair of porch decking, some window frames and sills.

We're getting ready to put our house on the market and simply didn't have to time to get to all the painting we wanted to do. Late Saturday night, I sent out emails to approximately 5 people I found on Angie's list. Tim was the only one that responded and did so within 12 hours. He stopped by late Sunday morning, looked things over and gave us a quote. He started work on Monday. We had a lock box with a key for him to come and go as he needed. We never had any reservations about allowing him full access without us being home. Tim was very accommodating as we also have two cats and a dog that he was able to work around. We are very happy with the results.
Description of Work: We had Tim paint our kitchen including the inside and outside of the cabinets, doors and trim and the steps of two stair cases.

Tim was a great guy. We had a good conversation, and I felt really comfortable with him. He was prompt, and he followed up with us. He didn't pressure us at all, and when we told him we had opted to go another direction, he asked why and then let it be. His bid was the highest we got (of 3). (He seemed surprised by that, saying that he usually comes in around the middle.) In the end, we were going to go with a different contractor (budget was our primary issue), but my father offered to help us do the job ourselves, so we opted to do that and save some money. I have no doubt Tim would have done a fine job, and we'll have him back for another estimate if we ever need more work done.

Tim was very personable and I felt completely comfortable having him in my home. The work took the amount of time that we expected. He kept the worksite clean. In terms of quality, I think he did a good job given the poor quality of the woodwork to begin with. We did not want to paint our walls, because we had recently done this ourselves. He explained that it wouldn't look as clean in the end if we did not paint the walls at the same time. We were comfortable with that, but it does not look "crisp" in some parts. However, I am happy overall with how it turned out, especially for what we paid.
Description of Work: Tim painted our white woodwork, which was starting to flake and chip. He prepped and painted woodwork in the living room, dining room and hallway.

Overall, the experience was great. We were having our house painted for a home wedding with 165 guests. He helped make our home look really beautiful for this event. Pre-wedding plans caused alot of tension and he adapted to our level of need very well. He has a crew that he's worked with since high school that are trustworthy. They gave me suggestions on how to improve the apperance of my home. After they installed new screens and painted, they transformed the porch into a really beautiful porch. The screens that were replaced were approximately 75 years old. We followed their advice on how to improve the appearance. Some of the crew are actually reality agents as well. Tim was detailed in his painting, took his time, and was willing to go over any areas that didn't look quite right. He is exacting, has great social skills, and listens well. Once the job was completed, they cleaned up nicely. I'm incredibly satisfied with his services.
I decided not to use them and went with another company because they estimate was over handed and they charged by the hour and with the wall paper, I did not know how many hours it would take.
Description of Work: T Schaub Painting came out in June and gave me an estimate for some interior painting.
