From calling for info to getting booked, everything was clearly explained and we felt very prepared for the appointment. We were able to get booked just a few days after we called. Quoted price was about $1100, and we were happy to move forward with their quote versus others we called. Install was great. Nick arrived and got right to work, listened to concerns about placement, and walked me through everything as he was planning to go. Measured thrice, cut once! From beginning to end, with a few snags in the process due to stucco exterior and numerous utilities packed into the space he was working, he was done in just over 3 hours. Impressive work, and very professional. Guarantee to get numbers for radon below 4.0, and 5 year warranty for the fan. Ended up having to upgrade to a bigger fan due to the hard ground under the slab, and that made the price go up a bit, but still within our budget. Only complaint is that we weren't made aware that this was a possibility going into the appointment, but can't say we didn't want the upgrade--without it our system wouldn't have be adequate to mitigate. Happy so far with everything, and looking forward to the free test kit in a week to see how much better we are in readings. Finished basement means we'll be down there a lot, so we were very happy with how everything went so far, and look forward to living in a safer house thanks to SWAT!

When the technician went into the attic and saw that there was a single bulb light source that didn't work he asked me for a new bulb so he could see. I have him a bulb. He went into the attic installed the system then came down and told me that he could not connect the system because there was no electrical source in the attic. When I asked him about the light that I gave him a bulb for he said that the light didn't work. When I asked him why he didn't tell me that before he installed the system he was speechless. I called into their customer service and after several minutes of complaining they agreed to issue me a small refund I believe it was 50 as a customer satisfaction measure. They also promised that the warranty would not begin until I had the fan connected to a power source. The installer's name according to the warranty document was Bard Cord. I do not recall the cost as they didn't provide me with a receipt just a certificate of warranty but they have the record under my address and job number 427279 dated 7/7/2015. Now I am selling the home. A prospective buyer pointed out during an open house that the radon fan wasn't working based on the vacuum gauge in the basement. On 7/10/17 I went into the attic to connect it to power. I reconnected a loose wire to the bulb which fixed the bulb. I then plugged the radon fan which had a ground to non-ground plug adapter put on it by the installer into the bulb and it didn't work. I then ran an extension cord into the attic from a known working power source and plugged the fan into it. It still didn't work. The fan that was installed two years ago could never be tested because there was no power source. It shouldn't have been installed when the installer knew there was no power source. To this day it doesn't work and this company wants to charge me 199 to come out and replace the fan.

Tech came to install system, drilled into drain tile system and piped out of house and "sealed" sump hole. Went with this company because the price was the best, unfortunately the work was not the best...The sump hole never sealed properly so air was still coming through a couple weeks after install. The first time I called I was told they would send me some caulk and that I should just fix it myself by putting more caulk on it. Well, a few weeks later nothing came in the mail so I just used the silicone caulk I had. Still did not seal well so I removed the cover to clean it up and start over. Through out this process the cover broke. I called customer service again to report this and ask that someone come out and get it sealed properly. The service agent told me I should have called back for the caulk...I tried to explain that the caulk was not the real issue but that they told me to fix it myself and that I wanted a tech to come back and do it properly. He told me someone could come out but they would charge me $149 to for the service call and the cost of parts to get a new piece of plexiglass to cover the hole... I asked about the lifetime guarantee on the work they do and he said they do guarantee their work but that caulk can fail, even though it was never sealed to begin with, and they would still charge the service call fee. Ultimately, I was told it was my fault even though the work was never done properly to begin with...I would not recommend this company to anyone as the work they perform was not correct and they do not stand behind their work or provide decent customer service.

I had a Radon Mitigation system installed in my house July 2012 by A-1 SWAT (S.W.A.T. Environmental). The price was the lowest comparable with the setup and parts. The installer was very friendly and did an excellent job. Overall (AT FIRST) I was happy with them. Here is where the issue started. Seven months later in March 2013, the fan started going bad. The suction decreased and it started making a continuous buzzing sound through the ceiling (where the fan is installed). I call SWAT and they confirmed they suspected a bearing going bad in the fan. They told me since it is under the 7 year warranty they would replace it, but would charge a $149 service fee. I spoke with a supervisor and still no budging on this fee. I could understand if I called years after the installation, but this was only seven months. I would have hoped they would have stood by the materials they use better than this. If you are looking for a company who will stand by their product, there are many other Radon Mitigation places out there you may want to consider first.
