The workers were pleasent and easy to have in and around our home for the time it took to complete. Both of the representatives for Paul Stafford Hvac and Electrical were professional, they were exacting with their bids...and were eager to do the job to our satisfaction. WE WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS CO.
Description of Work: Both Hvac and total electrical-remodeling. We removed our homes original 1950's Hot Water Heating system and had PS put in all new duct work, Bryant forced air Gas furnace, Heat Pump and Air conditioning. We also had the total home re-wired by PS with all current 3-prong plugs, switches, dimmers and recessed lighting throughout.

Description of Work: One circuit in our house kept tripping. Contacted Paul Stafford to come out and diagnose. Even though they were busy, they came out the same day and diagnosed the problem. This was much appreciated as this was affecting our main floor bathroom.

+ -1 moreLeft a message, and they responded within a couple of hours. Dan came out to evaluate our furnace, and got me an estimate soon after (I think it was that evening). Their prices were very competitive compared to others I had gotten. I eventually went with a different company, but only because I had a previous relationship. Dan and staff were very professional, courteous, and willing to work with me. I'd consider them again if I need more HVAC work.

+ 0 moreThe electrical outlets were fine. There was a fair amount of confusion with separating the electrical lines in the bedroom. It took a while (20+ minutes) to figure it out. The electrician said we couldn't do what we wanted to do, which, of course, was different than the estimate we received saying that it could be done. We eventually figured it out, and somewhere along the line I miscommunicated or he just didn't understand. I was worried I would be charged for the extra time in figuring it all out, but I wasn't. I was billed the estimate I was quoted.
Description of Work: Paul Stafford added electrical outlets in our garage and a hall closet. They also added a switch in our master bedroom so that a light in the bedroom's hallway could be controlled separately from a ceiling fan.

+ -1 moreThe dining room light had acted strangely for a week, slowly lighting as if it had fluorescent bulbs in (it didn't) then it stopped working altogether, along with the living room and front porch. The company had worked on all of these lights nine months prior so we thought it might be related to that work. I shared what we'd observed about the lights' behavior and that I had replaced the kitchen ceiling fixture, which was on the same circuit, three months earlier following the exact wiring connections that were in the box. Electrician Steve and his partner discovered that the neutral wire running from the kitchen to the dining room had been pulled completely out of the kitchen junction box and cut too short when a previous owner had replaced the dining room light. The wire had been using the conduit as a ground, but my work with the hot wire must have moved it around so it could no longer ground itself. Once the problem was identified it was an easy fix. They replaced both the old, cloth neutral and the hot wires.
Description of Work: Discovered source of power problem and replaced wires.

They also deducted an amount from my final bill in light of the mistake. I was pleased and would recommend them to anyone.

+ -1 moreWhen I initially called for an estimate, Peg in their office, said this would be a "time and materials" job. I explained that I wanted to have an estimate so I would really understand what the cost would be. They scheduled someone to come out. He was a little late but they called from the office to explain that they had a miscommunication about the appointment time, and Kris apologized a lot when he arrived (only about 10-15 minutes late). Kris was very professional and very thorough. I felt like he answered all of my questions and explained the things that might affect the final cost. I had some problems scheduling the appointment. I had to call twice to set up the time because they had some major computer problems. They then called 2-3 times to adjust the appointment time. Not a bit deal but they seemed to be having some problems with scheduling. If I didn't work from my house it probably would have been a little harder to deal with. The man who did the work was fast and professional. So far, everything has been great. I would definitely use them again.

(One minor glitch is that he spliced the the new cable into an inactive cable line, but there was no way to tell that at the time. We connected the cable line & the new jack works fine.) Worked with me on the best placement for the new cable jack so it would be as unobtrusive as possible. Very pleasant to work with.
Description of Work: Changed 3 kitchen outlets (they were too loose, wouldn't hold plugs in them), added a cable jack in master bedroom, 3 dimmers added to existing switches.
