+ -1 moreI needed an upstairs bathroom outlet rewired and the old wiring in the attic removed, attic lights rewired from extension cord connectors to existing attic junction box, and two broken pieces of venting from the boiler and hot water heater replaced. Both the preliminary walk-through for estimated costs and the scheduled work day itself were efficient and complete. Servicemen Kris and Chris were courteous and punctual. The Final costs were a little less than quoted based on fewer parts needed at the time of service.

+ -1 moreI began using Stafford in the 198o's when I moved to MInneapolis and the company was very small, and have used them in all 6 homes in which I have lived since then. They have always been responsive to my needs, showed up when they said they would, addressed the issue with quality and professionalism and charged me for their work fairly. Stafford's work replacing a "fried" outlet and electrical circuit just before Christmas was no exception. Despite the press of the holidays, they addressed the problem promptly, with high quality and professionalism and charged me fairly for their work. I have nothing but good things to say about the work Stafford has done for me over the last 30 years.
Description of Work: Replaced an outlet and the circuit feeding it which had been fried by an electrical short caused by our plumber.

+ 1 moreJob was scheduled for Thursday 17 afternoon but did not get a confirmation email so when I called on the morning of the 17th Peggy informed me that she made a mistake and somehow my schedule was showing for the 23. She apologized for the mistake and was able to have someone to come over and start the work and they finished the work the next day. Two thumbs up for Peggy, she is great to deal with and was amazed how quickly she managed to fix the scheduling issue. Two thumbs up to Chuck. He came on time he was very professional, he explained everything and when the job was completed he vacuumed all the mess. I'll definitely use them in the future.
Description of Work: Installed new outside outlet for low voltage garden light hookup Installed new electrical outlet and a new cable TV outlet by the fireplace by drilling through brick to outside. Installed 3 zwave switches and rewire upto code.

Cutting into the ceiling, roof, and tile... did the venting, electrical, etc. Installed a timing switch so the vent can go off after 10, 20, 30, 60 minutes, or go on indefinitely. Chris was very friendly and professional. I've had other work done by Stafford (which was also excellent), and Chris is the friendliest I've met. Very personable.

+ 1 moreChris did a great job. The installations all look good, and he left everything nice and clean. The two downstairs rooms required some holes in the wall in order to fish the wires up to the ceiling, and there was good communication all through the process about how it was likely to go, where the lights should be positioned, and then where and how many holes once he got in and saw the layout of the rafters. We're very happy with our new lights and fans.
Description of Work: Installed 3 ceiling fans (no previous fixtures), swapped out 2 bathroom vent fans & brought the ducts up to code, installed 4 recessed lights in the family room, and installed a light fixture in the living room (no previous fixture).

I couldn't believe how fast they worked with very little disturbance. They even swept up any mess they made before they left.
Description of Work: Came out to estimate replacing the entire dryer duct work. After the estimate they were able to replace it right away.

The one he recommended and that we chose was less expensive and made a lot more sense than some other options. Chris (not to be confused with Kris) arrived at the appointed time and installed the unit. No problems. We won't know how effective the unit is until winter, but based on Kris's experience with similar installations, it should work fine. Stafford contacted me to set up the required inspection.
Description of Work: Stafford installed a 220-volt wall-mounted heater in our garage.

+ 1 moreElectrician was very accommodating when it came time to deciding how the fixture should be oriented (five globes on cords of various lengths). He demonstrated several options, and I made my choice. We have used Stafford exclusively since 2008, and their technicians and office staff have never failed to provide outstanding service. One winter our furnace failed when we were out of town and painters were working throughout our home. Stafford made an emergency house call and quickly got everything back up and running. We have recently moved far across town, and now they come to our new location. They are responsive, accommodating, timely, courteous and extremely knowledgable. I highly recommend them!

+ 0 moreIt was the little details that made this a good experience, such as centering a light to make it more functional vs just running new wire. When the city came out to inspect the work, the inspector did find a minor issue that they wanted corrected. The inspector asked who did the work and commented that Stafford has a good reputation. The city inspector said they would contact Stafford to explain what needed to be fixed. When I called Stafford the next day to schedule the follow up work. I was told it was already done (outside work) and they had contacted the city inspector already. They were quick and responsive when there was an issue.
Description of Work: Re-wired the garage, replaced outside outlet and replaced dimmer switches.

+ 2 moreSUPERB!!! The technician was here when they said he would be here, he was professional and friendly, cleaned up after work was done and did an excellent job. At the last minute, I made a couple of changes to the original estimate and they very willingly accommodated my requests and appropriately updated the estimate. I had a couple of minor issues during the whole project, but they sent the technician out free of charge to correct them. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others. In particular, I would request the same technician for any future work.
Description of Work: Several electrical updates: changes to my breakers in electrical panel, installed ceiling fixtures in 3 bedrooms from scratch, installed an outdoor flood light, replaced garage light fixtures, installed 3 outdoor GFI outlets, replaced outlets in kitchen, bathrooms and garage with GFI outlets and installed fixture in a small pantry.

+ 3 moreThe project seemed simple but believe me it wasnt. With these old style houses (built in 1912) theres always a curve ball. Any how after a couple of initial visits, a solution was found and a fan was installed which works great. They also did the same in my basement bathroom in addition to wiring and installing a new light fixture. Am waiting for my bathroom remodel to be complete before we get the light fixture install done but the friendly engineer said to call up and get it booked in when we are done. All in all, a great service from a responsive and thoroughly professional company. Not many like this out there.
Description of Work: Install and wire new fan into Bathroom where one did not previously exist. Also wire and install new fan into basement bathroom, which included ducting to outside wall.

The install went well and finished on time. During the final inspections both the electrical inspector and the mechanical inspector commented on the high quality of the work on our project and on Stafford's overall reputation. This is the third project our family has done with Stafford and all have gone very well.
